1. How did I take the verses I gave out of context?

2. I addressed the one verse you gave, and without surgically getting into the technicalities of why it doesn't support drinking beer.

3. I never inferred people who disagree with me are drunks.

By the rules of logic and debate, the one resorting to ad hominem is typically the one with the flimsy argument.

I like beer... it makes me a jolly good fellow..... I like beer..... it helps me unwind, and sometimes it makes me feel mellow....

Last night I dreamed I had passed from this scene, and I went to a place so sublime.... all the water was clear, and it tasted like beer, then they turned it all into wine... (audience goes "awwwwwww")

Tom T Hall.... great songwriter....

You implied I chug alcohol. That isn't ad hominem?

Cool. Look bro, you can have the debate. You clearly put more heart into it than I am willing to give. That doesn't stop me from thinking your case was weak. If you want to know the context from which I'm arguing, I'd gladly throw some articles your way.

At the moment, I'm more in the mood for lightheartedness.

1: That verse is not talking about us smoking or drinking or skydiving.... it's talking about sexual sin. You skipped over verse 18....
2: ??
3: ??
4: ??

Now, back to the beer.....

Before our friend continues to speak for me:

No, I don't think Christians who drink beer are abominable heathens. The Bible is just very clear that we are supposed to be wise about taking care of our bodies, and alcoholic beverages just happens to be one substance mentioned specifically. I was hoping someone would bring up fatty foods and sodas as a "well, Christians do this." I believe the same applies to healthy eating in general. I don't mean go all green. The point is just be healthy, be wise....day breaks and fruit flies....(did you love the poem? Please tell me you loved the poem.)

I remember a few years ago it said that men were dropping out of church and women were left alone in church. I wonder if someone started a church where at the Lords supper table, they replaced grape juice with beer and bread with cashews, mens attendance would go up.

Alright, as long as that's your stated position now, we're cool.

Research is starting to show that diets higher in fat are more healthy.
