Holy Cow...

My eyes snapped open because of a bright wave of light streaming against the windows, so I thought it must be around 6:30 (when dawn starts to break around here.)

I was shocked to see that it was only 4 AM, and that the incredibly bright light straining through the closed shades... was actually the moon.

I could be wrong about this, but I believe that the Bible says that in heaven, there is no need for the sun, moon, and stars in heaven because God's light will shine so bright? So every time I look at the sky, I try to be thankful for these beautiful lights we get to see on earth.

I'm going to stay up a while and watch the moon.

Come on over and enjoy the view.

Revelation 21:23 - "The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp."

Yes, indeed, but think about this...if it is night (as Jesus referenced in John and other places) while the light is not with us, then we are called to be moons. What do I mean? Well, that's where the question comes in:

Q: Ultimately, what does the moon do? (Other than effect tides and such...even though that's a good analogy too...)

A: It reflects the light of the sun.

Q2: How can a person be like the moon?

A2: ...by reflecting the light of The Son.

One of the reasons I wrote threads was to hopefully encourage OTHER PEOPLE to write their own threads as well, and you do an excellent job on your own.

I remember several years back there was a week when you were writing a new thread almost every day, and so every day I'd get up and check the answers before work... And it made me smile every time.

You are most welcome to quote my post, and thank you so much for the thoughtful compliment.

Thanks. And I did used to write threads a lot but one day I stopped and swore off making threads. It was because of that one thread that I hate and never want to reappear (so it reappeared like a month ago...).

Yup, I remember it well.

And, I shall refrain from resurrecting it. (Just kidding... I know it caused a lot of unneeded controversy so I wouldn't ever bring it up again.)

I understand that's also probably the number one reason people don't, or are afraid, to write threads--eventually, or sometimes even right (write ) off the bat, there's going to be criticism and backlash.

Writing threads here definitely forces a person develop a thicker skin.

Believe it or not, it can actually have a real-world application, though. Several years ago I had a job performance review in which my supervisor highlighted "is willing to receive constructive criticism."

I know it sounds corny, but I actually have a lot of sharp-tongued former members on this site to thank for that.

(And, there are times when I can admittedly run alongside with the best of them. I'm trying to work on it though.)

Kim - truth be told, there was more to it than just that thread which made me stop making threads. I also was in my opinion, attacked by someone who seemed to have a problem with my posts. It was someone I didn't know at all but was a regular here. They basically accused me of trying to one-up everyone and sound like I'm better than everyone else. Well that effectively shut me up pretty well. There were some other things too like drama and controversial threads which taught me that some people are just beyond trying to reason with. Anyway, its a different crowd now, but I'm also older and less excited about making threads...

It takes me an hour just to tap out a title with my cane.

It's even more disastrous when I forget to put my dentures in and try to use my four-legged walker.

Because the LGBT are taking over not only our public rest rooms but the world. Even the movies in my conservative country, I have observed recently that the theme is always about homosexuality.

Oh, the fun facts you learn when you have rampant insomnia.

I was in the mood for 80's nostalgia... And I just realized that Peter Cullen, who voiced our beloved Optimus Prime, was also the voice of the main antagonist, Venger, on my favorite Saturday morning cartoon, Dungeons and Dragons.

I borrowed the book The Magicians Nephew thinking it was book one in the Narnia series. After reading two chapters in the book someone informed me that it is actually book six in the series. Now I do not want to finish the book because I need to read them all to fully understand the Narnia in order. I find this to be an embarrassing life mistake on my part. It's as if this mistake was on page ten of my own story and I was suppose to be on page one. I jumped ahead a lost track of where I need to be in present time. Hopefully this will not define me as a person who is easily confused. Perhaps by page three hundred of my own story page ten will just be a memory.

I hope you find this as hilarious as I do.

I saw Doctor Strange in 3D and it was pretty good. It's not the best of the Marvel movies, but as far humor goes, I would put it at the top of the list. I've never seen anything that Benedict Cumberbatch has been in before; he didn't disappoint.

He's Sherlock in the British show Sherlock. He's good on the show too.

Ok guys, I survived a week at Disney and my twisted ankle didn't slow me down. It's still a little swollen but I'm hoping time and rest will heal that. I've caught my son's cold. So nice of him to share. At least he shares the last day of Disney and not the first day. I'm feeling kind of sick. I sang at church this morning rocking the bluesy rasp, which works well for the style we sang today. Now though, my throat just hurts. I'm going to have to rest it, I suppose. That's SO hard to do. How am I not supposed to sing???

Well the publishers have had their hand in tricking you there. The magicians nephew is chronologically first in the chronicles of narnia but it was published 6th in the series. So older sets have it as book 6 and newer editions have it as book 1. The good news is that it doesn't matter too much when in the series you read that particular book as it's so far removed from the rest that it doesn't matter. Anyway, narnia is still one of my favorite series so I hope you enjoy them.
