Lots of water, force myself to move/heavy excercise to raise body core temp to help fight the infection faster (it shortens the duration of sickness for stuff especially the flu). Drink a lot of home made herbal teas especially with hot pepper's like paprika, black pepper, black tea leaves, cardamom, cloves, and star anise....all brewed together in hot water let it sit for 10 min to infuse and then drink it down.....yes it may not taste like ovaltine but it gets the job done
.....I rarely get sick (thank God) due to God keeping me in good health, drinking this tea above as a preventative measure in case i feel bad, and eating a lot of spicy food (spices have great anti-bacterial properties like paprika and red cayenne pepper are great anti-bacterial spices to use in food....
