self-abuse will always drag us down, no matter the genre - when we are convicted of doing something
wrong and it affects our daily lives, and especially the lives of others, then of course we know that our
Saviour wants/demands so much better from/for us...

acting upon conviction is a whole other matter, it will show us our mettle and where we stand in our
wanting to please and obey our Lord...it's a personal scale that only we can read and do something
about with His help...

I can't say that 'martial-arts' is a bad thing, especially if one can use such to help bring others to Christ..
but, if it is a 'vain' endeavor, simply done for self-gratification, then it would be useless, especially if you
believe that you belong to Jesus and that everything that you do is to help and show others where His saving
Grace can lead to, and this should be obvious in everything we do and say because our lives are all about
Loving and Serving Him...

ACTS 24:16.
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

the Scriptures plainly speak in many verses about your dilemma...

it always goes back to the basics of Loving God with all of our hearts, souls, and minds...

I understand your point. But it seems we are led to have absolutely nothing in our lives as if our "metal" is strong in Christ, we do nothing but serve Christ. So all things will go if our metal is strong. Hobbies, jobs, entertainment. Unless it's a thing that revolves around god or godly purposes (godly music, godly works). Not because we're told to, but because our metal tells us to. And if we ignore, then. God didn't know us, and we are fallen in judgement? So anything we do that our metal says is not helpful, godly or growing up is not in Christ's will. This eventually leads us unavoidably to be travelling or static ish priest like people without the title. Depending on our personal conscience and alarms scale etc.
So you can do any hobby but if your scale doesn't tell you it's ungodly, your still not in Christ, you just don't know it as much. Thoughts?

The more I get closer to God, the more I feel a battle inside, to give nearly absolutely everything up. Martial arts, console games, movies, most radio and TV. Am I not able to enjoy anything except god, food, sleepif any, peace if any etc. It feels like I have to give all away?

This is very difficult. In this world, to be the way I feel I want to be. Removing negative influences, it is likely I will have to give up all. I live at home. I feel trapped like many. Their is little I see to go to except church on a Sunday, text online, be nice, give to charity. Or give up all and just take off. This is the pain I feel over this decision. I am no preacher or learned person, so don't have the knowledge or strength to preach. So if I did give all up. I wud probably be useless.

This is very difficult. In this world, to be the way I feel I want to be. Removing negative influences, it is likely I will have to give up all. I live at home. I feel trapped like many. Their is little I see to go to except church on a Sunday, text online, be nice, give to charity. Or give up all and just take off. This is the pain I feel over this decision. I am no preacher or learned person, so don't have the knowledge or strength to preach. So if I did give all up. I wud probably be useless.

1) I'm not trying to be perfect,
2) I'm accepting gods will,
3) knowing if it's my own opinion or gods will talking to me through my conscience is difficult to know,
4) unless I get an obvious sign to do or not do something, I'm not likely to know,
5) therefore it seems I must follow Christ, my conscience, because that is all I feel that is right,
6) therefore following Christ, accepting his will in my conscience and the gospel teachings, the word.
7) together, is the word and feeling and guidance.

My two cents

Some consider the tribulations of this fallen world that it can feel like literal hell.Some believe it is. We can always cry out like a baby in prayer and supplication seeing we never out grow our need for the milk of His word, that teaches us He is graceful in order to comfort us .

I tell my children that the milk of the word builds strong bones of faith

Sometimes we move to fast as in and can get ahead of ourselves as in ...the more I hurry the more behind I get. And like one song of the 70,s (I think 70’s ) says: slow down your moving too fast. Kicking a few stones, that might be causing our unrest and just enjoying the milk of the word, knowing God causes the growth as the peace of God that surpasses all understanding is all that is needed.

We are required in order to have peace with God, have that peace therefore between you and God, as two walking together in agreement. A model of the Father and Son.

I share my wife made a sign and put in my room to remind us . iI reads,; "Our personal value is not based on others...Today give it to God.

In that way He provides the peace giving us His understanding

While I am not promoting we do nothing and let things happen, or let the chips fly But rather work the first principle of love which is to try and be more patient as His fruit .It can help us to be kind to our owns elves, the second work of love according to 1 Corinthian 13. Therefore as His fruit giving us the long-suffering to suffer and be kind with others as we hopefully love our own selves.

lLving at home can be hard work. I think it is difficult for any two persons .In that way we are created to be against in each other in a hope we could help each other with something one might not see about themselves.

But if you are living with your parents knowing all hard work leads to a profit . Obeying your parents according to the loving commandment of our Father in heaven, it is that first commandment that comes with a promise.

You don’t have to be a preacher. Christ is the preacher that preaches by teaching his word. Just your participation with others in the body who also have a faith that comes from hearing the voice of another, the mutual faith of God that works in us , you bring encouragement as a gift .

I wonder looking at a verse that asks us ; "when he does come will He find faith" and I add or find none like with Noah ,save Noah and his family .
I add , or just a worn out religious book that cannot perform what it claims.

Keep it up the faith it could help from falling from His favor

I think I see your point. But we surely do as god sake. For, it may, may, feel easy if your from a Christian family/nation etc. There are Christians in Britain, but huddled quietly in churches, coffee mornings, charity events etc, or at home alone. When you are a Christian who grew up without much Christian learning. You live mostly a life in negative things. The closer to God you get, the less negative things you should cling to. Drinking weekends, smoking, watching horror films, war games etc. So when should I give them up, when some say, we don't give up anything because we're saved anyway, and others say accept god but have an "easier" Christian life, so sacrifice for most, little. When I like what i do but know it is not good for my mind? When do I let go of them. When my conscience tells me, or ?
