I agree, but I also think that when Christians do speak out it is not to be in a hateful manner, but one that speaks love.
I think there are some proclaimed Christians that believe they are doing good by speaking out which is great but the thing is that when they speak out and just words of hate come spewing out that turns everyone away from the Father as well.
So I think we both have to watch our actions and words towards this particular sin
YES... that is the answer.... and it seems that Peter agrees...

15But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander

Regarding homosexuals, I think it's okay for women to love (platonic love) other women and men love other men, in the sense that God intended for us to love one another. But for a woman or man to be IN LOVE with another of their same gender, obviously is just wrong and unnatural, no matter how much they try to justify it..
I think I know what you mean, but on the surface, I disagree... you should read about the love between David and Absalom (IIRC) It was spoken of as a deeper love than most men/women, but it was not sexual. I think that is the key... it should not be a sexual attraction..

Yep.... look at a tabby cat in the face. Between his eyes, on it's "forehead", you'll see the letter "M".

Legend has it that it is because Mohommad (or however they are spelling it these days) liked the cats, and "blessed" them, and since then, they have all had "M's" on their foreheads.....

I happen to really like tabbys as well..

I did just notice (looking over both shoulders) that I am the only blue named person in this thread now....

I believe I'll take my leave, and go do some "manly" things.... don't want anyone to get the wrong idea about my, um.... orientation....

:D

Some people are just naturally contentious

He's correct to an extent... I have seen Christians discuss many topics about sin, but when homosexuality is mentioned, they go borderline ballistic. It does seem out of balance to their views of other sins, and their reaction to the "sinner" is usually more vocal.

Spot on. When you have people jumping up and down with joy because someone's been banned, when you have them making nasty jokes comparing them to a political figure and falsely accusing them of an agenda, it's got nothing to do with 'hating the sin' and 'loving the sinner' anymore, despite that being the flimsy excuse that is held onto.

A true christian exercises understanding about what led to misguidance and is willing to explore the issue, not tolerate or accept it, but teaches those who are lost on that journey with patience and tolerance. Unfortunately the make up of this site, where it has almost no filter in allowing anyone and everyone a platform to post regardless of their education, experience and communication, doesn't always allow for that kind of constructive debate.

I've never quite understood why people are so fixated on homosexuality. They act like it's the only sin in the Bible mentions. I think people who are threatened about homosexuality must have latent homosexual tendencies
God calls it an abomination. What are His latent tendencies?

The Bible list multiple things that God calls and Abomination so why are we fix anything on this one thing?
It is strange. Outside this chat I rarely ever hear anyone speaking about it.

Not my question.

You said "I think people who are threatened about homosexuality must have latent homosexual tendencies." God Himself says it's an abomination. Care to enlighten us about what you suppose God's latent tendencies are? After all, He did say homosexuality was an abomination long before any of us quoted Him on it.
