No. We went through this with Bush V. Gore and the outcome didn't change. Well, it really did. The electorate college had to choose Bush, and the Democrats claimed Gore won the popular vote. Funny thing. When they recounted, Bush won both -- the popular vote too.

Nah, this is all just to raise a slush fund for the Dims and to delegitimize Trump's presidency. Aren't we glad this ilk lost?

Okay I just read what Jill stien said about the recount. She doesn't expect the outcome of the election to change but she wanted to make sure the electoral process was maintained (Or some trash like that) :p So pretty much wasting time and money like democrats do.

I think you're right there.

Surely all that recounting has some kind of huge carbon footprint.

Meanwhile, the vets stuck using the VA still can't get everyday things like teeth or activities to do beyond Bingo on Saturday afternoon (and only that because VFW comes in.) Policemen across the country are being ambushed, and yet they leave behind wives and children who now have no idea what they'll do without their love one and can't afford the life they had right before that shift. The 2% who couldn't afford medical insurance before Obamacare are now being fined for not having enough money. Congress goes home richer than when they came to Washington, but the people stuck on Social Security lose a little more year by year.

Yup. Pretty much the same ole same ole. They can raise the money to help themselves, but not the money they kept promising the poor they'd use to help the poor.

Funny thing. When they recounted, Bush won both -- the popular vote too.
Gore did win the overall popular vote, by some 600,000 people.

Florida was a little more complicated. . .

http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/31/politics/bush-gore-2000-election-results-studies/

a lot has to do with what guidelines you decide to use to determine the intent of the voter on an unclear punch card.

one interesting bit of information from that article is that over 111,000 votes were thrown out because they had marks indicating a vote for both candidates -- these weren't included in the recount -- but a group of newspapers looked at them and found that some 84,000 of them looked like they were meant to be Gore votes. which blows away the margin ((scant hundreds)) that the official recounts gave Bush the victory by.

so it's still reasonable to believe that more voters in FL at least had the intention to vote Gore in 2000, though the actual tally depends on the particulars of examining punch cards that aren't clear. we might know for sure, but Bush sued, then appealed to the supreme court after Gore countersued, to stop recounts, and Bush won the lawsuit, and so the state, the recount, and the book was closed.

A recount will not change the results. Yes, in theory Hillary could become president if enough Republican electors in the Electoral College decide to vote for her to give her at least 270 votes. If neither candidate gets 270 the House of Representatives will vote for President and the Senate will vote for Vice President. The vote takes place on Dec. 19. Don't worry though, Trump will indeed be elected as President of the United States. Pence will be elected Vice president.

As memory serves me, (and memory rarely serves me well), at the end, months into G.W.,'s presidency, Dade County did take Gore, Florida eked out a bare win for Bush, BUT NM ended up choosing Bush when they thought Gore was the done-deal, so only recounted because... well why not? Ends up, it wasn't FL as much as it was a state with very little political clout.

I do get a kick out of them wanting to retally PA. Easy enough. The tally is electronic, so no chads. I think their problem is they don't realize our cities are mostly Democrats, not completely Democrats. I helped in a Republican gubernatorial campaign and discovered we're not the freaks in our neighborhood. Lots of us conservatives hiding out here. lol

Just hypothetical. Do you think Gore would've gone into Iraq?

This is her way of giving off an air of political relevance in order to keep the Clinton Foundation donations rolling in.

The Clintons are political kleptocrats and know no other way to maintain their hyper-luxurious standard of living.
