while i agree 100% with the importance ((& primacy)) of theologically sound lyricism . . .
why not open your eyes to the fact that the Spirit is working in many believing musicians who are writing spiritual songs and hymns that completely jive with scripture, and rejoice in that, instead of being all hung up on the instrumentation and the fact that the world does what the world does?
Oh yeah... I stay awake days at a time totally worried about those claiming to be Christian who are all caught up in ungodly secular music claiming it's all good providing an example to other Christians that it's OK to be worldly and enjoy the world's darkness
Actually, I don't "care" (worry, fear, stress) what others do or don't do... this is simply a talkboard where people post what thru think and believe.
One reason why so many Christians fail to get Godly counsel is because they are so busy following the ways of the world, so I'm simply throwing out some food for thought... people can accept it or reject it, I don't "care" either way since people are going to do what they want to do anyway.
Because eventually someone will come around and say "it doesn't matter what the lyrics say, they are playing the devils instrument and all who listen to it are doomed"
Those that value and cherish their relationship with the Lord will do music that the Lord enjoys... those that walk in sloppy agape will do what they want and suffer the consequences later cause what we sow is what we reap, if we so to the flesh we shall of the flesh reap corruption (Gal 6:7,8)
In the end, we'll see how secular music is not a part of God's Kingdom.
