I just looked at the last page of this thread and I can tell its just going to be everybody that comes on this chat that is here mostly cause they already have personal issues others cant deal with and make fun of this guy for having a pretty mainstream belief nowadays.
All I have to say to that is anybody to makes fun of anybody does it to feel better about themself because they have serious self worth issues. Anybody with dignity would simply make an argument that makes a more valid point if there point is the truth.
And most the 'crazy' people with eccentric theories that are mocked their entire lives in my experience are usually right and are the same type of people that invented everything you know of.
Without respect there is no love. The heavenly father does not tell you that you are stupid when you are wrong. He is understanding. He waits patiently for you to be ready to accept and offers the gift of wisdom for you to see the truth. So treat others this way and also be ready to hear and understand others as well so that you may not cut yourself off from understanding.

If you want people to have freedom to express their opinions on science, then you need to allow people freedom to express their opinions on those opinions.
I doubt many people are mad at the flat-earthers, or trying to harm them.

However, I want it to be understood that I am not really offended by the jokes. I believe everyone has the right to believe what they will ( without being overly criticized about it ); only I expect that same right to be respected.
I actually find some of the light-hearted jokes to be funny; yes, I have a sense of humor.
However, if a person cannot handle the simple fact that someone else believes something differently than they do --- they really have a problem with their own confidence in their own belief.
Confidence says "we can agree to disagree agreeably"...
Lack-of-confidence says "I must criticize the person saying it because I am unable to deal honestly with what they are saying"...
In as much as I firmly believe in something -- you ( whoever ) are not going to "shake me" from it by criticism. If anything ( and, this is basic human nature ), I will "clutch" even tighter to it - as you ( whoever ) appear to be foolish / ignorant / etc. - as someone who does not seem to be able to think about anything for any amount of time with any amount of serious devotion. Whenever a serious 'proposition' is put forth -- and, someone cannot do any better than make jokes that criticize the proposition -- it is an indication that they do not have sufficient 'mind' even to consider the proposition seriously.
The only effective approach is one that includes honesty and truth that helps them to see the error in their thinking.
And, if you do not approach the proposition with serious intelligence, you will not be taken seriously; therefore, you will not do any good towards helping the person see the error in their thinking.

If you still want to retreat into the flat-earth position, you are neither siding with the near-unanimous conclusions of 2,000 years of Christian scholarship, the biblical text when properly placed in its grammatical and historical perspective, abundant and simple experimental science, or logic.

maybe some people have been trying patiently for several years to deal with this insane idea ((not mainstream, just flooding youtube because it's a quick way to make a buck)), giving all kinds of reasonable, valid counterarguments and explanations that completely destroy their arguments, poking planet-sized holes in their reasonings, exposing all the lies and illogical thinking behind it.
and maybe love is sometimes refusing to accept excuses from people anymore after they've been shown 200 times the error of their ways, not by just one person but by many. maybe love is finally dealing with them honestly, no longer beating around the bush, but bluntly speaking to them in light of years of history that clearly demonstrates that the idea that they keep proliferating, regardless of all the contrary evidences, is a lie.
maybe to love truth is to hate lies. more than maybe on that one -- surely.
yes -- love is telling the truth when that dress actually does make you look fat.

How to prove beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt that the Earth is flat, and not a sphere...
Position, somewhere on the Equator, a stationary reference "beacon" that sends out a signal in all directions -- or, at least - either East or West - with an angular range from North to South ( i.e. - 180 degrees with East / West in center - albeit, only the North 90 degrees will be significant ).
Position, on a ship / airplane, a directional receiver - such that, it can be determined with sufficient accuracy the angle ( relative to the Equator - or, directly behind ship / airplane ) the reference beacon is being detected.
Using a directional transmitter-receiver at both points would be even better.
Make sure that the signal - of whatever type - is of sufficient strength to reach a very long distance - and cannot be "blocked" by anything that might happen to come between the reference beacon and the ship / airplane.
As the ship / airplane moves away from the beacon, while staying on the equator:
~ If the Earth is a sphere, the signal will be lost soon enough because of the curvature of the earth; however, the angle from reference will never waiver from 0 degrees -- the beacon will always be directly behind the ship / airplane.
~ If the Earth is flat, the signal will be sustained for whatever distance it is capable of being detected; and, the detection angle will increase with the distance between the reference beacon and the ship / airplane.
Why? Because the ship / airplane will actually be following a circular path over the face of the Earth.
This will only work on the Equator - because, from a perspective regarding the angular part of the above suggested experiment - it is the only lattitude that is supposed to be a continual straight line all the way around the globe. And, that is why - if the results of the latter case are obtained - the Earth cannot possibly be a sphere.

I have been in the electronics field for 45 years, since I was 15. A fundamental part of electronics theory is understanding how radio waves travel around the sphere of the earth.
I also have a ham radio General license. A primary part of passing the Technician and General license tests is understanding how radio waves interact with the different "spheres" of the earth - the ionosphere, the troposphere, the stratosphere, etc.
All radiowave propagation SCIENCE and EXPERIENCE proves that the earth is a sphere. For, instance, I can make contacts with people in other parts of the globe by pointing my antenna to where they are on a globe, not a flat map. I can even, if the conditions are right, receive signals from a broadcaster from both directions on a globe. THIS CANNOT HAPPEN WITH A FLAT EARTH.
ALL RADIO WAVE PROPAGATION PROVES A SPHERICAL EARTH.
THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE EXPERIMENT THAT CAN EVEN GIVE EVIDENCE FOR, LET ALONE PROVE, THE EARTH IS FLAT.
People keep mentioning the spherical earth is a conspiracy of NASA. NASA DID NOT EXIST 2000 YEARS AGO WHEN THE SPHERICAL EARTH WAS A KNOWN FACT!
(What's more, why would they even bother with it? There are too many real conspiracies to waste time on this flat-earth non-sense.)
The antikythera device, as I mentioned in earlier posts, proves the earth was known to be a sphere 2,000 years ago. (This is before NASA.)
How can you ignore all these facts?
You claim to seek truth, yet you are living in deception, and promoting the deception of God's enemy. Is your father the father of lies and you already know the truth of this? Or are you so self important and self righteous that God cannot work his truth in your life?
Either way, Gary, please ask God to do what He will in your life. Seek to love Jesus and His truth more than whatever else is keeping you from Him.
We are all in need of repentance. Loving God and his truth means that we can trust Him to not be too hard on us when we actually get around to repenting. By focusing on God's love for us, we become willing to turn from our own deception, no matter what it is.
This is something we all need to do regularly.
In the context of this thread, are you, GaryA, willing to turn to God and His one and only human born Son, Messiah Jesus, and ask Him to make you a godly, righteous, truth loving man, or are you going to reject God and His truth for something else?
To know the truth, you have to love the truth more than what you want to be the truth. To know the truth, you must first be willing to admit you don't already know it. To know the truth, you have to face the truth about yourself.
Gary, are you willing to love the truth enough to sacrifice yourself on its altar? Until one is willing to sacrifice themselves on God's altar of truth he will continue to live in his own self deception.
Faith is believing Jesus loves us enough to go with us through that sacrifice of self.
To the extent that you continue promoting this ungodly deception, I rebuke you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ya know, people can say anything, and call it "facts". Does that make it true? Not one bit.
Here is something I have been observing, not saying it's a fact, just something I have observed. It looks to me like water is flat. Water is like a mirror, when it's calm that is. A flat mirror will reflect a near perfect (reversed) image, where a curved mirror distorts. When I look at areas around lakes, especially tall mountains above lakes, it appears to be a "mirror image".
Another thing, I wonder if most folks really know what the "accepted theory" of our "universe" is? I didn't think that much about it before, but seriously? Reminds me of that evolution theory, in which they have to keep adding millions/billions of years to it, to make it so mind boggling the average person will just say OK, and go about their business not giving it too much thought. Look into it if ya don't know...it is ridiculous, and contradictory, but just like the theory of evolution that is taught in public school as "fact"...it's an invention of man.
