Can one attend a church, believe God exists, try to live a good life yet not be born from above? Follow.
It's from one end of the bible to the other. First born = flesh, Second born = born from above where Christ came from. First born should inherit, firstborn gives birthright to second born. Seriously if you can't see that principle throughout scripture, nothing I can say will help you understand.
Church attendance has nothing to do with salvation. Believeing God exists has nothing to with salvation. Trying to live a good life has nothing to do with it either.
Believe God and it will be counted as righteousness. Same salvation from Genesis to Revelation.
Actually, according to Jesus, following him is the sign that you are born of the Spirit.
"And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23
"Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? When we follow inwardly, it shows up on the outside. It means self denial. It doesn't mean naming and claiming things. We need to lose our lives for Jesus. That is how we follow him.
And your statement is another thing that is so wrong with the Word of Faith movement. Because you try and deny the importance of following Christ to the grave. That is the gospel! And important, because written in all three of the synoptic gospels.
It comes from reading the bible to say what you want it to say rather than reading it for what it says.
Perhaps Mr. Unhappy (Desdichado) should follow the posts of this man. Replacement Theology breeds antisemitism by necessity because their reaction to the suffering of Jewish human beings ranges from apathetic to aiding in their extermination, and everything in between. Usually starting with apathy, then moving further and further down the antisemitic road as the satanic doctrine takes hold.
Satan's goal is to thwart God's Word. He will twist it, and corrupt it, and take it out of context. Like he tried with Jesus. If he can, then he believes he can accuse God of breaking His Word and therefore HIS fate should not be sealed. If he can wipe out the Jews then God's unconditional promises given to them are void and His Word is broken.
Many times in history he has tried to exterminate them. The holocaust in Germany is just one of them. By denying the holocaust and it's significance, a person is helping satan achieve his goal.
The Satanic doctrine is - God's chosen people are flesh descendants of Israel... Straight from the pit of hell.
No we are getting somewhere. It seems I remember a story about two brothers. Where one (second born) hoodwinked the other (firstborn) out of his inheritance and got his fathers blessing.
Or maybe it was the one where the mother was having twins and just prior to the birth, a Hand pops out. Since this is considered the first born, the attendant put a ribbon upon it. The hand was withdrawn. The births took place at a later time and the hand with the ribbon on it was actually second born yet by law at the time, it was the first born.
May I ask what does this have to do with the Bible.......

I apologize. You didn't use the word scumbag, I thought you had. But I did remember you calling them a name and saying not so nice things about the Jews.

Our first birth is the flesh birth our flesh man. <-- this man cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
Our second birth is the spirit birth our spirit man. <-- this man can inherit.
Israel firstborn son of God - born of the flesh. <-- this man can't inherit.
Christ second born son of God - born from God. <-- this man can inherit.
God offered the inheritance to Israel but they had to keep every single one of God's commandments, they couldn't do it.
Christ being born from above could do what the flesh couldn't do. Christ gets the inheritance that Israel gave away because they couldn't do it.
Study the stories you mentioned and you should be able to see this principle in those stories. The firstborn always does something to pass the blessing on to the second born. Here's another example.
Genesis 48:13-15 KJV
And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.
[14] And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
[15] And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
It is Satanic doctrine, it goes directly against what the bible teaches. Read what this verse says, it's exactly the opposite of flesh Israel being God's chosen people.
Romans 9:8 KJV
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
