OK, two things. The gifts of the Spirit were given to the church and will remain even if no one ever practices them until Christ gathers the church...that is what the bible teaches. The second thing is, the Pentecostal movement started around 1906 was not of the Lord, because it is not of the Lord most of what is called moving in the gifts of the Spirit is just people doing their own thing or else being led by false spirits.

I actually gave a pretty good explanation of the "Gifts of the Holy Spirit using 1Cor chapter 12, 13, 14. And I did not HAVE to attack or name call or suggest one is has a " false spirit " to make my point biblical.
The term " gifts are you using"? is not how they (gifts of the Holy Spirit ) are to spoken of . Meaning: The gifts one is being used in would be more correct I think ; why? Because they are the gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed as HE see. In context to tongues 1 cor 12, 13, 14 are very clear no where have any of the gifts stopped. no where. If one is looking at the context as the authorial context is given.

I would cite the same chapters of 1 Cor and in biblical context demonstrate that what is being practiced today is precisely what Paul was teaching against. It would of course be pointless because it has been done numerous times and has not been received by those who use experience to interpret scripture instead of using scripture to interpret the correct experience.

no not terrifying just example of what not to do with the Gifts God has entrusted us all with. I can show you many in every denomination where Pastors, preachers and Evangelist have abused the word of God and nobody has said a word about. the truth is even these example of misuses and abuse doesn't change what God said about HIS " Holy Spirit " and the gifts HE provides today.

the idea that one is correcting I think is able to be challenged. If the correction is insulting and doesn't provide the results of correction. Corinthians chapter 12, 13, 14 are not a mandate from God for the removal of the gifts i.e all of them. scripture must exegesis and this topic has many parallel verses, passages, chapters , and books both old and new, The act of tongues and interpretation are only two of many gifts covered in all of those chapters in 1cor . when you say "being practiced today " that is a bias and unknown statement. the assumption is all are in error that is not true. All are not but I agree many are on both sides of the topic.
ZONE I do not blanket every one under the same tent. And they are doing what they do but to say all are doing it is not true and shows one is taking a group who have misused and bused gifts and dismissing all gifts because on some. it is clear the sound bites presented only show part of the whole event . I do not have in this video the full context of the vast many different churches, preacher, and countries provided to be fair to the what i see so in what has been provided it appears to be some misuses of the gifts I agree . but there are factors as to why . And i like to teach those in the church I attend what those factors are:
1. Money
2. Maturity
3. error
4. ignorance
5. and false teachings

As a "tongue" talking preacher and with my education from biblical perspective. I believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today. I see that in the Bible collectively, I have seen the comfort, edification, and exhortation that only the Holy Spirit can bring. If you do not agree that is ok. But you have not seen me attack those like some have on both sides of the topic and name calling. If you name Jesus as Lord you are my brothers and sister. But if correction is the objective of some in here ..... they have a funny way of showing it. And doing it in love.

So how far are you willing to go? How much error is too much error? Drinking poison or handling deadly snakes too far? Raising the dead or miracle cures for cancer too far? Never being sick again and always having in abundance too far?
Does the Holy Spirit make things up as He goes or does He operate within the confines of Gods word? Is Gods word still being delivered to the church or is it complete?
