Some of our Christmas crafts: Last year, hubby was in the hospital for the holidays. He was heavily sedated for Christmas, and I got this hairbrained idea to bring him the presents (I already bought) to him in a stocking, but we both like the stuffed animals, and I wanted to sneak them in along with the presents. (He got his teddy bear when he was on chemo as a bit of comfort. That's why they're our go-to creature comforts.) How to do that in one trip? So, I started working on a new stocking that fits, and hoped I'd be done in time for him to wake up, which I estimated was on his birthday a month later.
Did it! Brought it in for his brithday, except for one little problem. He was diagnosed with the MRSA virus as a birthday present. Hospital strain and quickly treated, but six weeks of quarantine. So I couldn't even bring my coat into the room, once more gifts. lol
I've told him this story, because he doesn't remember much from that time. Still he was surprised when I brought it out, and doubly surprised a week later when he understood I made it for him. lol
Double duty. I knew he'd be home this Christmas, so I made sure it fit his favorite stocking stuffers too -- six bags of his favorite coffees.
Finally a stocking that's the right size to stuff!
Since we had problems with the Christmas tree this year, (it fell down too often), the window it stands in front of was open for something I haven't done in years.
I used to make stained-glass back in the days when leaning over wasn't a problem. The window holds my favorite Christmas pieces.
The tree at the bottom was made by a SIL when she took a ceramics class decades ago.
