Being new to this, I am kinda crazy with curiosity. And there's tons of things I've been really wanting to know but couldn't find out until now. And I don't want to offend. But I'm just curious.

So I'm just wondering if there are other people like me who are on here as Christians but aren't the type to use "Jesus" in every sentence. Or watch movies when the characters are constantly talking about Jesus. I know this is a Christian thing online so there's going to be a lot of talk about God, but it can all get pretty intense.

I'm not mocking, I really am not. I'm just wondering if I'm bad becuase I don't talk about Jesus all the time. I mean, I'm filled with the Holy Ghost and I've been baptized in his name, but it seems that if everybody else has received the gift of the Holy Ghost (evidence of tongues) and been baptized just like me then why am I not so "intense" like they are?

And by intense, I mean talking about Jesus a lot. Like in movies, Jesus is nearly every other word.

I'm just hoping I'm not the only one.

You don't have to talk about Jesus all the time to be a Christian. Often, our deeds speak louder.

Sir Walter Scott had a good line about it in Ivanhoe:
“I envy thee not thy faith, which is ever in thy mouth but never in thy heart nor in thy practice”

You certainly don't have to talk about Jesus in every word that comes out of your mouth but the way you live your life should reflect your spiritual walk.

There are many gifts that the Holy Spirit gives besides tongues. If all one did was talk about Jesus but neglected to live their life the best that they knew how with what God has given them it would be a very poor life indeed.

I wouldn't worry at all about offending others on this site, just relax and be yourself. If people can't appreciate you for who your are then that's their problem and not yours.

Glad to have you as a member of our family and looking forward to your posts. Welcome to CC.

LoL yea i see what you mean, and yes there are some. As for christian movies.. I don't usually watch them, because a lot of them tend to be corny, but some of them are ok like "Little boy" "Revelation Road" and "The Encounter".

I've known as few Christians like that, but the vast majority I've known in the roughly 25 years of being a Christian are not like that.

We talk about all kinds of subjects on here not just saying Jesus in everything it would be pretty odd if we were Jesus robots like the christian thing is to only speak about Jesus and god forbid we were to talk about other things lol

For instance I like to talk about pokemon kitty cats and pretty much everything colorful and childish as I am a child at heart as for movies and such I have recently watched a parody of the purge called meet the blacks and I haven't laughed that hard in a few months.

I bring up Jesus often.. or just tend to switch in bible verses :p hehe
Just today I was kidding around with a old lady and the cashier. I was paying for my and my bf drinks (cappochino and cacoa) and she went '' I would have kept the money''
And I was like '' yep its horrible. They always want something from me in return eventhough the bible clearly states that we should give freely as we received freely"
and everyone started roaring in laughter and that old lady nodded... I often bring up Christ.
Sometimes people say theyll protect me and I say '' Hey I stand under the shadow of the Allmighty"
but it depends on the person and situtaion. Some people would call me slanderous but I havent felt negative from that

For me its become hard to not talk or bring God in but I dont do it every time :p maybe mostly but not always.. mainly indirectly

the 'miscellaneous' forum is a good 'non-intense' place,

also I really enjoy this particular thread

I'm not sure. I'm very passionate about God, and He is always the end of any dispute I have (If he is not the beginning). I once had a girl tell me that she enjoyed my company because I loved the LORD and could talk about the Bible at great length, but I could also talk about random things about life and be really fun. So I guess I'm probably not the Jesus-every-other-word type.

Why? As in why does it matter to you if you are or aren't? Are those that do that bad or good? Do you consider yourself bad or good for not being like that? If it's not a matter of bad or good, what does it really matter? Solomon said (in God's word, so God also said it), "There is nothing new under the sun."

To me, that means it really doesn't matter that I am a 182 pound, 5 foot 9.25 inch, starting to gray, but my hair still looks brown, brown-eyes, size 38 (long) -- 39 , 44 (dimensions of the three things women have to measure to buy the right size clothes lol), myopic, presbyopic, astimatism, cock-eyed, Irish, German, Brit, American mutt, whose favorite hobbies are writing, stuffed animals, eating sweets, gardening, hanging out on online forums to gab to strangers, studying marketing and the bible, Philadelphian, who grew up in South Jersey, moved to Illinois, then to Virginia, then back to Illinois, then to North Jersey, then went to college in South Jersey, then moved about a dozen times all over Gloucester, Camden, and Atlantic Counties in Jersey, before moving to Philly and liking it, urbanite who used to be a country girl and a small town girl (because I lived in a subdivision 10 miles from downtown Joliet, IL so no way do I count living in Joliet as a fair-sized-town girl lol), who hates to do any sort of housework, but dishes, but gets stuck with doing some of the rest anyway, who has a goiter, a bad back, spasmatic intestines, some mental issues, a husband and a rowhome woman. Because even if I am all that, I am nothing new under the sun. I am not the only one just like me. There are others like me.

I once found a whole community of people who write blogs from the viewpoint of their stuffed animals or pets. How bizarre is that? And yet, I found that community because I am like that.

So, if you are worried that you're the only person who doesn't use Jesus all the time because you feel alone -- like you are the only one -- stop worrying about it. You aren't. (I'm kind of stuck, because I don't really understand the trinity well enough to know when I should be taking something to the Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, so I call him "God," and let him figure out who should be responding to me. He understands this about me, so I'm not offending him.)

BUT if you are worried that it is a matter of being bad or good, then that's a different problem. Stop worrying about who is the bad and who is the good. Bad and good are defined by God, and he made it clear what is bad and what is good.

Here's his definition of good --
[h=1]Mark 12:30-31English Standard Version (ESV)[/h]30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Anything less than that is bad! AND the only way to do his definition of good is through him in us, so that's the how.

Does any of the rest matter?

Generally the Jesus every word types are the kind of people who think being a Christian literally means dropping everything else you can only talk about Jesus and if you don't you are not a true Christian. Such people have chained themselves

Blueblonde,
Just so you know. God doesn't want us to be us. He is working on us becoming more and more like him. Not more and more to stay us. (Us tend to go for the opposite of how God defines "good." And I say this to you so you can see that advice isn't always good. Not even mine. God is still the definer of the word "good.")

Jesus wants you to be you & loves you for who you are. You aren't required to always talk about the lord. Just to allow the holy spirit to guide you throughout your life.

:( I had similar issues when I was growing up. Whenever my youth group went to a worship service, I didn't feel as in-tune. I thought tongues were freaky. I didn't want to get slain in the spirit.

Then I realized...well... All of that doesn't really matter.

Your newness of mind and Spirit matter. The evidence is the fruit you bear in your daily life and the orientation of your heart.

And why use Jesus every other word? Don't words and names used too often lose their meaning?

I think you have a reason to smile. It seems that your thoughts are captive to Jesus. You want your light to shine before men because the Holy Spirit has given you the desire to do so. You sin like the rest, but have a penitent heart.

Focus on Christ and go in Peace, sister.

Being new to this, I am kinda crazy with curiosity. And there's tons of things I've been really wanting to know but couldn't find out until now. And I don't want to offend. But I'm just curious.

Excuse the following question, but I'm not into Pokemon, although obviously I've seen his picture enough to recognize him. (I'm not even sure what gender Pokemon is. lol) BUT, Pokemon is a kitty cat?
