The same spirit works in all the children of hell. :)

Matthew 13:38

The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Ahhh, sticks and stones, back to the schoolyard you go.

There is. This freedom stuff is risky business. But, apparently God thinks its worth the risk.

It is mentioned in Jude, They are just as unsaved as the legalist trying to earn his salvation, or keep himself from losing salvation by his works.

it is the opposite extreme, yet both are based on PRIDE and a refusal to trust God.

Yep, that's what this thread is about, those who turn God's grace into sort of a permission slip to keep on sinning; this is at the heart of the sin and still be saved false grace message.

Jude 1:4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Again here is how they deny God and Jesus Christ by serving sin.....

Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Which of course, in my 3 plus years of being here. as far as I can remember, NO ONE HAS EVER TAUGHT or supposed this perversion of grace.

in spite of all the people who claim they do.

We must remember as great and true the Grace message is----it must be balanced with other scriptures in the Bible----any scripture taken to an extreme can become unbalanced----example---the Word even says we are to hate our father, mother, and children (Luke 14:26)----but other scriptures tell us to honor our father and mother----we cannot take God's Word out of its balanced place in teaching and life style...Grace and Peace

Here is what the true grace message teaches.....

Titus 2:11-15

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee." :)

Part of the manifestation of living righteously is being honest with our brethren. The true grace of God would teach us that.

Titus 2:115
[SUP]15 [/SUP]These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee."

Not a person in Chat that I have met would disagree with this.

I haven't met you yet 88. Hello.
This is a very true statement. There are ditches on both sides of a road.
It distresses me to see people pick opposing ditches and hunkering down for a fight.
So may verses are ever at tension with one another.

The Gospel is the POWER OF GOD, which WILL CHANGE US.
and teach us to do ALL those things.

With respect, there is no "balancing" THE Gospel. Day after day we seem to be mixing messages. Applying Scripture verses that talk about Christians maturing to what they have been called to do, with THE Gospel message that saves us eternally.

Believing God came in the flesh as Jesus Christ, suffered, died to pay the price for OUR sin, rose again to life on the 3rd day is THE Gospel.

That message CANNOT be altered or mixed with other doctrines for salvation.

The call to maturity is incredibly important, and shouldn't be understated. But doing the works of that maturity has NOTHING to do with our Salvation and must not be mixed with the pure Gospel message for Salvation.

Legalism is also legalism, no matter what flavor you have,,
It's only January 3rd and we already have what may end up being the best post of 2017. Great post, brother. To God be the glory!
