I love this last verse you gave! It was the verse I wanted so bad to remember but couldn't earlier, to give Blain renewed hope and strength to wait, when he said he wishes he could stop sinning but that his tongue is his downfall so often.
May the Lord give him the power to overcome all temptations. Peace. :)

Exodus 20:16
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Deuteronomy 5:20
‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Proverbs 25:18
A man who bears false witness against his neighbor Is like a club, a sword, and a sharp arrow.

According to Peter.

EG is against people who want to walk in righteousness (that is a lie)
EG want to sin all he wants (that is a lie)
EG is against people who want to follow Gods commands (That is a lie)

I have said 3 lies you have slandered or bore false witness against me, and i am sure I can come up wiht more, (And I am sure quite a few people here can be my witness. and according to the law. Just 2 or three witnesses is all I need)

SO do you really want to go their Peter. Or repent, Confess. and start changing your ways, and stop breaking the law?
Thankyou for this. Please show us all where I said, you are against all who walk in
righteousness?
Please show me where I said you can sin all you want.
Please who me where I said you are against those who want to follow God commands.

I have said you oppose me, and I want to walk righteously, not sin, follows Gods commands
in the Holy Spirit.

Now your objection is I cannot walk righteously, that I will always sin, and that I cannot
follow Gods commands in the Holy Spirit.

So I am not actually lying or bearing a false witness. This is what you are saying and doing,
and you confirm your whole approach again by this post.

If you did not oppose these things you would be encouraging me and saying amen, praise the Lord
that He has given you this enthusiasm for His word and righteousness.

So my friend, you are hot air, and empty. You are just hurting yourself, not a good idea, friend.

Again, I did not say it was not possible to sin, of course by scripture we know this is possible. Two other points I want to make, you said though we are in Christ we still have a sin nature, I disagree.
Right, but Christians do still have the flesh, and it is always and at all times at war with the Spirit within us. And that is the reason Christians do not always do the good we want to do.

"For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other,
so that you are not to do whatever you want."
Galatians 5:17

I think if anyone wants to talk about the amazing promises of what God will make us and our struggles as "we are putting to death" by the Spirit, you just assume they are talking about trying to earn saving when they are only talking about the narrow road they have been walking and its difficulties as the struggle between the Spirit and the flesh go on.

Well you think wrong, Because people talk about wanting to walk with God all the time, and I am right there with them.

I am against people who claim salvation is based on how well they live their lives, or based on producing fruit, or based on how sinless they are.

I am not against people who want to walk with God and learn to be like he is.

Yes Peter. We have been called to live on them.
I teach this, And so does everyone else who you have been attacking for months now (that is part of your slander)
EG - It is odd to me, you want to take my sharing, add your own words and then attack me.

There is something wrong here in your head. I must have got under your skin, because invention
like this is just blatant invention. But I suppose desperate men full of strong emotion must do
something...

Thats ok, You fail to confront peter when he sins, But have NO PROBLEM at all judging the sin of others.

This shows your about as honest as judas was
, Would you kiss Jesus on the cheek also?
I sure would if He gave me the chance, 'cause He deserves all the glory for everything.:)

Now, if I had to swallow that nasty stuff you teach, then I'd consider hanging myself.

I agree.

My question is: If a believer in Christ - sealed by the Holy Spirit when they believed the gospel of their salvation when they heard the message of Christ. Eph. 1:13 - this believer sins - do they change from being a child of God to a child of the devil because of this sin?

I say that because I could post a scripture that says "He who sins is of the devil." Obviously we need to "interpret" that scripture in it's setting and also through the lens of the finished work of Christ.

Maybe there are actual people that think they go from being a child of God to a child of the devil each time they sin.

They would go back and forth from being a child of God to being a child of the devil quite a bit if they ever saw the holiness of God. I have asked this question before but no one answers.

All anyone has to do is read your posts..

I have said you oppose me, and I want to walk righteously, not sin, follows Gods commands
in the Holy Spirit.
But I do not appose you because you want to walk righteously. So there, you just proved one lie.

Now your objection is I cannot walk righteously,
Nope. never said that, You go from one lie to another..

that I will always sin, and that I cannot
follow Gods commands in the Holy Spirit.

Actually God says that you will never be sinless until you are glorified, until then you will continue to be a work in progress, not me,

As for following Gods commands, I never said you could not. That is another lie. (I said you could not follow them as per Gods standard, which is perfection. NO ONE CAN)

So I am not actually lying or bearing a false witness.
Oh? I just caught you in two lies.. And you still want to say you are innocent.

This is what you are saying and doing,
Prove it.
and you confirm your whole approach again by this post.
strawman argiment, Does NOTHING to support your accusations.

If you did not oppose these things you would be encouraging me and saying amen, praise the Lord
that He has given you this enthusiasm for His word and righteousness.
When you start saying you do them BECAUSE YOU ARE SAVED, and because God is empowering you, and will never fail to stop growing you in him, Then I will praise God.

Until then, I have to think you are depending on your own power. which is a dangerous thing to do. and I must warn you (even though you think I am attacking you
:()

So my friend, you are hot air, and empty. You are just hurting yourself, not a good idea, friend.

Another attack, (SMHID) I just proved two lies in one post. But I am hot air.

This stuff has got to stop..

We only need to interpret that passage if we acknowledge our own sin. Otherwise we can just pretend that we are cool with God and good to go.

When you do the same sin over and over, and continue to deny it, You have what God calls a hard heart.

You are so determined to prove yourself innocent at all costs. You have destroyed your testimony of wanting to follow Gods righteousness.

You say you want to follow god. then you sin by slandering people..
You want people to listen to you,

even if they disagree with you, Then staet learning what others believe, Stop ASSUMING you know. and stop slandering them with your silly notions of what they believe, then getting defensive when they confront you on it.

So, we don't go back forth from being a child of God to a child of the devil then because of sinning. One could also say we don't go back and forth from being a sheep to a goat. There are no "shoats" or combination animals either....lol

This is why I am trying to ask good questions to see how some interpret scriptures.

Yeah, he hates it when you get his goat.

I'd do it, but I'd probably get the wrong one.
whatever dude,

It is getting plainly obvious all you desire to do is cause strive almost half the stuff you say anymore is just attack..

53 is your age? I would never have guessed that.

Did I say anything about a physical body?? Neither is the flesh (sarx) a sin nature. The flesh is those “bents” that have been developed within our desires, which are not eradicated at conversion. A Christian is not "in the flesh" but neither is a Christian no longer influenced by it. It is the flesh that the enemy, who actually helped to develop those "bents", will always try to use to tempt us. But we do not have to succumb to those temptations because that’s not who we are anymore, and the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world.

I agree...( except for the sin nature thing - we only have one nature and it is from God - the new creation in Christ...the flesh is the ways we try to get things apart from God - our old habits left over from the fall of Adam still in our un-renewed minds. )

Christians never become "out of the Spirit" ..Christians are always "in the Spirit and NOT in the flesh".

It is a position in Christ now because the new creation ( the inner man created in righteousness and holiness ) is separated from the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. Col. 2:11. The body of the flesh has been cut way by the Holy Spirit and our inner man in the new creation in Christ is sealed by the Holy Spirit.

This is why "sin" the noun ( an entity within our flesh ) shall not have dominion over us. People can get this confused with the act of "sinning". Romans 6-7 uses it as a noun 48x times.

When we walk by the spirit - we will not fulfill the desire of the flesh. Gal. 5:16

Works-based salvationists put this backwards - they say if you don't do the lusts of the flesh - you will be walking by the Spirit. Man-centered religion which substitutes Christ's life in us for "what they do".

The Christian is never "in the flesh" because they are in Christ. They can live "according to the flesh" but this never puts them back "in the flesh" as it is a position in Christ that we are "in the Spirit" at all times.

Not knowing this leads to all kinds of doctrines like this "sinless perfection in the flesh" one that some try to promote where they say that people never sin and if they do sin - they are not born of God and are now a child of the devil.

As long as we have the flesh with us which is until we die - people can and sometimes do give in to the flesh in some form.

This includes malice and slander too as well as the "biggie sins" but to the self-righteous - these sins are not "recognized". - But others see it as plain as day for what it really is.

Let's learn to walk by the Spirit so that we don't fulfill the lusts of the flesh - how do we do this? Through Christ alone - all by grace through faith.

Colossians 2:6 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

The flesh is also used as a term to describe self-effort to make one righteous.

Galatians 3:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?
