For me it has been my emotional and intellectual and spiritual state.
I am more cynical, not overly cynical, just I was not like that when I was younger. I also pick up more accurately and quicker what people are about. I have a much clearer picture of what life is about. I have also learned I can't do much consistent good on my own. I need Jesus. I am more content now. I am ten times more sensitive. Last, I have a sadness and weariness about this world I did not have when I was younger.

I care a whole lot less about what people think of me.

I'm 26, so maybe I don't count. But I'm not as married to my own opinions as I used to be.

Perhaps it is the wisdom of recognizing priority. I don't shy from a fight when I view it is necessary, but often harmony is more important than being right. And allies when the stakes are truly high are more valuable than numerous enemies who heard I said this about them or did that or aggressively went after their core beliefs.

Also, I used to think that it mattered to God, the manner in which you "did" church. I know better now.

I like the way you framed and answered the question. For me, at this point I am recognizing how soon retirement arrives, or the age of expected retirement benefits.

This is important to me, because I have, thus far, been youthful and able to get by without medical bills and have not planned on the future needs. Now that family members are aging beyond how I remember them, now that they are reaching retirement age, I see the importance of smarter financial planning.

Note: This is not to say that one being young is naive or foolish; I was both, probably still am.

I agree with Original Post (OP), I need Jesus.

I'm starting to wonder if it is a bad thing to have achieved that quality at 17...but right now I'm ok with it so I don't really care what anyone thinks :p

I have grown in wisdom and I have grown more keen as to how the world works and I have matured somewhat and grown stronger in faith but the real change I have seen is how God has given me new eyes in how I see the world and in how I see people and his kingdom I have also noticed that before i knew him I would have cowered and trembled if a person was being picked on by a bully or a mean person and if I was attacked and might get hurt in any way i would have fled however now I have seen this courage arise in me when others are in danger some kind of fearless fiery protection for them kicks in and I am no longer afraid to be injured especially if it's for anothers sake

This :) So far I've been very liberal with my pro-bono services. Which is good, because it has cemented my reputation as a hard worker.

I look at my parents and my forever dependent brother and realize I can't do as much for free anymore.

More and more I sense to be still before the Lord. And know! Somehow I rushed by this stillness when younger. Now I find myself listening to my thoughts when being in His presence. He does talk.

I also find myself enjoying the "quiet" people more. And less trivial talk.

You would be someone I would love to talk with face to face then:) I am often times able to befriend discuss and study with older folks because they are normally still and calm and most of the time they are quick to listen and slow to speak sadly though while I am like this a lot of times with them sometimes I get so excited talking about God I tend to be the one talking all the time lol

I'm kind of chuckling at the ages posted. Those years I was referring to when I was so much younger and more foolish in my thinking were my 40's and 50's.

The thought the crossed my mind when people under 50 started posting: "They can't post in here, they aren't old enough!"

For some reason I was under this impression that the question was directed at - *ahem* - people who have had more experience time in the world.

My parents were in their mid 40's before I was born, so "old" to me has always been...oh, about Methuselah :D (kidding, but I did feel like people my age thought "old" was younger than I did...if that makes sense). 60's and 70's have never seemed old to me.

Old, for me, is when an actor at an age where it is no longer socially acceptable for me to celebrity crush on them.
