Luk 13:15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thouhypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

He called religious people who judged another by law strictly without mercy, hypocrites. Is there any other place in the Word that would define one?
Hypocrites are pretenders, those who pretend to be something they are not, like an actor....

And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: [SUP]G5273[/SUP] there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

G5273.....Bible usage...

  1. one who answers, an interpreter
  2. an actor, stage player
  3. a dissembler, pretender, hypocrite

Putting an s on the end of hypocrites brought up a lot of scriptures. My point is it's religious leaders who judge the outside of men without knowing the heart is what I see as hypocrites.

I don't think a hypocrite would have intimate understanding of a relationship with God. Don't they care more about deeds they do, like for showing how good they are compared to those bad sinners.

Maybe I'm wrong but it's my view as of now anyway.

The truth us that once a person receives Christ and is sealed with the Holy Spirit.- He is there for eternity. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be in you and with forever. John 14:16 Jesus is NOT a liar.

Jesus also said that He would never leave nor forsake us. I don't think Jesus is a lair. I'm a believer in what Christ has done for us in His love and grace.

Sheep remain sheep and Jesus said that here would be tares with the wheat. He also said not to try to pull them up in case you tear the wheat up too because they look like same. Only God can look on the heart to see who is in Christ or not.

What I look at is people's posts. If they never talk about Jesus and His beauty, love and grace - instead are condemning people all the time with saying they are cursed, evil, satanic, sinning, children of the devil, wanting to rain down fire on them...etc

That is a wrong spirit being manifested and I stay away from listening to what they have to say.

Here is how that "spirit" is manifested.

Luke 9:54-56 (NASB)
[SUP]54 [/SUP] When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?"

[SUP]55 [/SUP] But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what kind of spirit you are of;

[SUP]56 [/SUP] for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them".

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Eph 4:30

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”
2 Tim 2:19

Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2 Cor 1:22

Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2 Cor 5:5

Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
Eph 1:14

Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.
2 Tim 1:14

No---- there is not---- I believe this is a dangerous doctrine the way it is " promoted" at times---- intend to discuss more---- just as openers people state that it's not God's will that any sheep be plucked out of His hand---- this does not mean God will in the sense it cannot happen---- but rather God's desire---- it's the same with it's God's will all would be saved---- we get weird doctrines of ultimate reconciliation---- hey--- even the devil getting saved--- no---- those in hell and the devil will remain lost--- it's not God's will (desire)--- but alas---- the free will of man...

I looked back over this thread again and still don't see a verse that clearly and explicitly says that once a Christian is saved that they will always be saved. There are lots of good verses about the security that believers in Christ have. But there is no verses giving security for the person who does not believe in Christ.

The person who does not believe in christ never had christ, They were never saved, so of course there would be no security.

if they had true faith, they never would have left. God does not give us reason to lose faith. A persons belief fails when he never really believes to begin with.

John 3:36 King James Version (KJV)He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The person who does not believe (have faith) will not see life - He is not saved. I will just leave it at that.

1 Corinthians 1:30 shows that salvation is in Christ. Everything required for salvation is "in Him" When we believe the gospel, we are placed "in Christ" and all of the components necessary for salvation become ours "in Him". We live because He lives. We don't die unless He does. The words you are asking for are not there, the truth of those words is.
If
Everything required for salvation is "in Him
is true the whats this
When we believe the gospel, we are placed "in Christ"
all about.

If its all about "Him" why the "when we believe the gospel"?

The words you are asking for are not there, the truth of those words is
A common defense of false doctrine.

I always thought saved meant saved, not probation.

Who knew? :D

He thinks people can have salvation at one moment but then stop believing and lose their salvation the next.
I have great difficulty understanding the lunacy that says one can know Christ and know the joy of forgiveness of their sin and then just decide to walk away and return to sin and woe.

So great is the work that Christ has done to change me from dead and lost in sin to alive for eternity in Christ it is simply beyond my comprehension to understand how any could desire to return to the former state.

Butterflies do not seek to become caterpillars but seek to reproduce. Christians testify of what Christ has done and others are drawn to Christ.

Nope.

Salvation is not of works.

But apparently keeping hold onto that salvation is pretty slippery. Any second it can be lost. Like the keys to your car.

Oh, no. Has anyone seen my salvation? It was here a second ago... Did you check under the cushions? Maybe you left it at work?

Maybe it wasn't an accident. Maybe you purposed to stop believing and snatch yourself away from Gods Hand. Apparently He doesn't know the power that you possess...
