I appreciate your input, Eloseus, but as with the other posters here who have other discussions they'd like to spin-off from this thread, I'd like to ask that you could start your own, separate thread about whatever else it is you have to discuss. :)

Angelsnow was generous enough to start a thread about submission already--be sure to head on over there and check it out :).

I'd like to stay on topic here if possible, please.

Thanks!
Sure no problem. Just replying.

My Daddy taught me to work.

I don't need a man's money.

I was raised to go out and earn my own. :)
Oooh, a low maintenance and independent American woman. Dang girl someone needs to marry you.

Lol, all the British chicks want a cuck. I have seen The Jeremy Kyle Show, I know about you british girls, I'm not stupid. You can keep em.

Young man you want a strong British woman who can teach you about etiquette and manners.
Unfortunately you are lacking in that, just like your avatar names sake.

Ps Jeremy Kyle is on the same nonsense level as Jerry Springer.

Me too, I've never been financially supported by a man, although my brothers have
frequently borrowed from me. Lol

Jerry Springer is a boss!

Lol sounds saucy on the surface, but I'm not a cuck, wouldn't match well with a british feminazi.

For Everyone Wanting to Talk About What Submissiveness is in Marriage, Angelsnow was kind enough to start an entire thread about that subject. Head on over and check it out:

http://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/146885-submissive-marriage.html

If at all humanly possible, I'd like to keep this thread on the topic of mixed culture/country/race marriages, please! :)

And to the person who messaged me and told me I just opened 30 cans of worms with one thread...

I know, I know. :p

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other way of bringing some of these seldom-discussed issues to the table (if any of you do, please PM or post your suggestions. I'm all ears!)

If at all possible, I don't want to lose this topic behind a dozen others that get brought up and argued to death in the Bible Discussion Forum every hour.

Sounds good to me.
Sounds good? Did you see what is required of the man? You must treat her as yourself and be willing to die for your wife. There is a big expectation/judgement on the man since he is the spiritual leader in the household.

In this order: 1) God Almighty 2) The Husband 3) The Wife

YET, the two are one flesh. Do keep this in mind and if you love someone, you will not exert authority over them like a tyrant. In the words of The Blessed Saviour:

[h=1]Matthew 20:25-28King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]25 [/SUP]But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
[SUP]27 [/SUP]And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
[SUP]28 [/SUP]Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Yea sounds good to me. I ain't never said nothing about being a tyrant, that's what you say. I just say the women want a strong alpha male, and it's true. God is a strong alpha male, so it makes sense that's what women want.

Seoul some of the points you raise resonate with me. I was married to a foreign woman from my continent but our different cultures and ethnicity raised a number of hurdles that we had not anticipated. For one thing her mom thought that I didnt like her because I didn't call her often enough. We had a language barrier and i found myself trying to brush up on my French as fast as I can.
It was also clear that what she'd consider "traditional" was different to my own upbringing. Her upbringing placed a different emphasis on what was critical in keeping a marriage and home intact. If she had a disagreement with someone she would assume that everyone would gang up on her as "the only foreigner" in the church or among my family or our mutual friends. (Remember she was in my country).:( She was pretty blunt and direct. I was okay with that. In her country this was acceptable. In mine it came across as rude and disrespectful so I often found myself playing peacemaker with ladies at church, my brother and his wife, my sister, a few mutual friends. Later on, she had and improved relationship as these people began to understand her and she them.

For the record I didn't marry her because she was traditional or because I wanted a submissive wife. She was certainly not "submissive" in the sense conveyed in this and other Threads. She turned out to be quite a handful but I knew what i was getting into when we married. She wanted to work in a profession that she had trained for but for a while couldn't find suitable employment. She'd weep at night saying that in her home country she'd be able to find work and make decent money. In my country she felt that her accent put employers off. It became such a depressing issue that I started sending out her resume to a list of potential employers in her field while she was away visiting her aunt in another country. She had a few interviews by the time she got home a couple of weeks later.

We were both African, so we had some shared ideals but there were still other challenges that were raised by our different mindsets and our slightly different frames of reference. We were both fairly open minded and open to new ideas. We both wanted to work and pursue or careers. We both were not shackled to tradition, being rather progressive in our thinking. However there still were challenges that arose from our different cultures and languages. Yet we were both African. Now what you've been discussing is a couple where one person is a Westerner(American man) and the other is a foreigner (Lets take the"Asian woman" example of other threads. I see much bigger cultural differences and traditions here. Now I'm sure its lear that Seoul is not saying that these unions won't work, but we must admit that there may be a lot more to consider than "can cook and will stay at home barefoot n pregnant if you like..."

Good thread Seoul.

1.

2. I don't have to be a GOPer to support my leader President Trump. President Trump was a Democrat even for years.

3. So you prove with your own words right here that you are trolling me.

1. It is possible you aren't trolling directly for the RNC.

2. It's entirely possibly you're trolling for a particular activist group, or special interest group, or just trolling for your own fun.

WHO you are trolling for doesn't really change the nature of your activity.

Ever considered the possibility that you're delusional and on a witch hunt for seemingly no reason at all?

Sigh.

This is NOT how I'd envisioned (or hoped) the thread would go.

But alas.

God is not a man, God made man in his likeness. A true example of a man's strength is what Jesus did for His People. He never spoke when he was falsely accused and when he was sentenced to death by crucifixion and bore the sins of world upon himself... That's not even going into the 3 days he was in the realm of the dead and ministered to the spirits in prisons, took the keys of death from Satan, Took the key of the grave and took captivity captive.

He NEVER thought about himself, He surrendered to the will of his Father. JESUS is the Truth Example of what a TRUE MAN should be. Submission, Humility and a Heart To Serve.

[h=1]John 13:1-17King James Version (KJV)[/h] 13 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
