The title of this thread is ridiculous. Some of the OP's views are just as ludicrous.. He must not realize that we are NOT saved through faith alone, but BY GRACE, THROUGH FAITH. Add on top of that banana split, the fact he keeps implying that HE is sinless, that's the cherry on the split, and here's the whipped cream: he proclaims all this while calling others names and giving insults.

Yes not a faith alone but a belief /faith that works , called a work of faith , as Christ labor of love. By His work of faith He earned the grace He freely gives us. So we saved by works they just not are of us if they are of Christ Anyone that does not have that faith in respect to Christ ,Does not belong to Him .

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of

What we have here, is a ridiculously constructed banana split by the OP (viewpoint, for those too dim to get the analogy)...
Our brains work differently. Everything God does is by grace, for He is ultimately gracious.
Our response to Jesus is to put faith in Him, which is a gift from God.

Now salvation works because we see Christs love, and trust Him. God could do no more than
walk among us, and then let sinners kill Him, and then forgive them for the very act they did.

What is difficult is to conceive in how exact or general my description of our Lords work, I am
wrong, I need to made fun of, told I am ludicrous, I am a works preacher, I am blind and lost,
a liar and a fraud. So I cannot recognise my brothers through the tears, the wips and the
the crown of thorns, how curses rain down upon my head. So so so many were sure the
man of promise would bring a nation to victory, rather than love and humbleness was His
calling.

And if I describe my accusers and defamers and slanderers for what they are doing, I am
evil and a sinner. A strange place is this and a strange group of believers, where even
the simplest statements of faith deserve ridicule. No wonder the church is in such a bad
way, when the teaching is so poor, the word of God and love have not broken out.

If everything God does is by grace, then why do you keep saying that we are saved through faith? I've seen you post that at least twice on here, so do you not agree that we are saved BY grace THROUGH faith? We can't be saved by one, without the other also.. No one here has cursed you at all. And you ARE evil and a sinner, but we ALL are so you aren't alone in that aspect. Obviously the others here feel that you keep implying that you're sinless. Guess what, you aren't. Neither are any of us. News flash, even christians sin.. One trip to the family forum will make THAT rather obvious. All the "christians" committing adultery, viewing porn, etc etc.. Those are sins.. committed by christians to boot.

At the end of the day there are a few that actually believe they are all that and a bag of chips when it comes to righteousness.....and they for sure can keep themselves saved or help Jesus save them.....

"The Gospel preacher [recognizes] that life is often (perhaps mostly) hard, and that as much as we might crave a word of optimism, a little fuel for the part of us that longs to live in blissful ignorance (or denial), what we really need is not to have our humanity built up, but rather put to death. True hope – hope in God and his unbreakable love for us in Jesus Christ – comes only when we let go of our false hopes, and this happens only in the crucible of real, hard, life. In this view, church ceases to be a venue for fairy tales and bedtime stories, but rather a haven for sufferers. Church is the place where we come together to hear and tell the truth about our lives, our sin, and to receive grace and mercy. As Luther poignantly said, “If the mercy is true, you must therefore bear a true, not an imaginary sin. God does not save those who are only imaginary sinners.”

Why must everyone make the statement that it is a question of faith OR works?

Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Scripture shows us it is faith AND works.

So you want to emphasis grace, I want to emphasis the cross and Christ. Grace is the cross and
Christ, having faith in Christ is having faith in Gods grace. If I do not write this according to

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
Eph 2:8

then I have got it wrong. And yes christians sin, or else why would there be so much
failure and miss-understanding.

But in this failure you seem to be saying there is no hope of purity or freedom, no liberation
or victory. If this is what Jesus means to you, we have to part company, because the cross
is freedom and victory. You seem to be saying no, anyone claiming victory and freedom is
lying because no one can be like this, walking like Jesus.

If Jesus brings nothing why are you following, as a comfort while you fall apart?
Faith is about trusting and being open to the realities of what Christ can do.

If Christ cannot conquer sin for anyone, in their lives, for real, then no sinner
ever becomes a saint. Being washed is just a temporary make over job, new
birth is just painting a clown face on a depressed persons smile.

This is not my Lord or my experience. I cannot define peoples experiences only
listen, but how is defeat and failure victory?

What speaks to me about real spirituality is two verses

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God
Matt 5:8

To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
Titus 1:15

Only when you have a pure heart will you see properly.

Judging things properly relies on having a clean heart.
If you do not know this truth, how can you claim to
understand Christ.

Anybody else notice how Peter's “views” change depending upon which way he perceives the wind to be blowing? As does his presentation?

Not for salvation.......

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe....No WORKS for salvation

In the grace you are, having been saved out of faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast....No works for salvation

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.....NO works for salvation

Not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us...No works for salvation

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.....NO works for salvation

Works do not SAVE, KEEP SAVED or EMBELLISH SALVATION.....SALVATION is a once for ALL ACT based upon faith INTO the finished work of Christ and acknowledging Jesus as LORD and SAVIOR...........A TREE cannot bear fruit unless it is ALREADY SPROUTED and has had growth...it is ALREADY ALIVE A PERIOD OF TIME before it bears......

The word of GOD is spiritual in nature and application and no one can apply the word and be fruitful or bear unless they have ALREADY BEEN BORN OF THE SPIRIT......end of story...when are all of you who blend works into faith for salvation going to understand that WORKS DO NOT SAVE OR KEEP SAVE, but rather WORKS ARE A BY PRODUCT of CHRIST in you by FAITH doing the works AFTER you have been rendered INNOCENT (JUSTIFIED BY FAITH), SAVED (BY THE BLOOD BEING APPLIED), and SANCTIFIED (SET APART AS A USUABLE VESSEL) for HIS USE.......

Peter, NOWHERE in ANY of my replies on here, have I said, inferred or implied that there is no hope of purity or freedom, or of liberation and victory. I honestly don't know how you keep misinterpreting my responses. Jesus gave us freedom and liberation when He died on the cross, AND he gave us victory over sin. However, even the most "righteous" of christians STILL sin, even though they are saved. I keep emphasizing grace because YOU keep saying that we are saved through faith alone. We aren't, because as I said previously, we can't be saved by one or the other, we have to have BOTH. Of course anyone can walk like Jesus, but they ARE only sinful humans, and unlike Jesus, they ARE tempted to sin. We are NOT perfect, not by a long shot. News flash: we are not perfect saints, we are filthy sinners. It's apparently beyond my understanding, why some here think that christians don't sin once they're saved.. Because they DO. And they KNOW they're sinning, while they are fornicating with someone else's spouse, or viewing porn, swearing or whatever.. Go visit the Family forum, you'll see exactly what I mean.

You know.....the serpent in the garden.....very slick....adds one word and uses doubt to his advantage.....have you ever noticed how those who distort the gospel (correct message) use doubt and are very, very slick in the verbiage they use and or how the interject, embellish or devalue a single word or words......!

Dear friends, truth is not just one perspective, but many.

As you explore different ways of seeing Christ and the truth so the way you express
it will develop. Now to those who have missed to core principles, it becomes obvious
nothing will gel. Without the right foundation emotionally in your heart, scripture does
not add up.

I saw this once when I realised something I had done had scared someone terribly,
but for me was not a problem, which then made an issue totally wrong in its presentation.

If we stand before Jesus and His words and want to embrace Him and love Him for who
He is, amen. I have spent my life wondering about the sermon on the mount, and how
the principles shown stand by themselves as well as as a whole.

Two threads come out. Doing the right thing. Being pure, true.
But if you compromise here, the rest will never make sense of be achievable.

I take my hat off to be worthy of so much attention, at least it is being read
and given consideration, Amen and Praise the Lord.

there is one truth, If someone claims there are many truths, That is a reason to run, and hide,

As Jesus said, I am the way truth and life.

As paul said, there is one gospel. not many gospels.

many truths is the idea of universalism.
