Hi decon: It was not a hard and fast rule, just an example to demonstrate that a form of works are involved in maintaining one's salvation. I know of a fair number of folks who got saved and water baptized and left a little while later and never followed the Lord for the rest of their lives, do you think those people are in Heaven? Actually there are a lot of folks who fit that description. My point, a form of works is involved in following Christ and one must continue to follow Christ our entire life if we want to make Heaven our home.
I don't believe that.....if they left only one of two is possible....
a) they were never saved (never were of us)
b) they were saved and had no root (but are still saved under the scripture I quoted about Christ not denying himself)
no amount of work will save or keep one saved....it is a once for all act is eternal and has present continuing results from a past completed action (Greek verb tense)

I know a lot of people. who claimed to have faith. Who go to church every sunday, Who do all these things which could be classified as works. Yet have no power of god. and are not saved.
So what is better.. A licentious person who has no power. or a legalists who has no power.. One may look like a Christian. but looks are not enough.
no works are required.. There is nothing I can do to make up for one sin, and all it takes to be condemned is one sin. so apart from Gods grace. we are all doomed, no matter how many works we do. period.

works of jesus to be on Guard to be on the watch tower to love your neighbour to cast out demons to pray and so on and so on.
theese are the works of Jesus and also to obey the commandments.
To love your enemy and pray for your enemy.
To fast.
To plant seeds in peoples hearts.
To be brave.
To be honest so help me God. and if you cant be honest you always have the right to be silent as Jesus was when asked are you the Son of God and if asked tp perform a mirracle well you can always walk on water in the spirit as i have many times in my dreams and once when i had an outer body experience

My first thought.....there is a woman with spots
What would a miracle have to do with her having spots....many people have odd skin pigmentations and or spots, patches and or colors.....and...maybe she is comfortable with her spots.....
and...being saved does not necessarily mean a reprieve and or healing moment....PAUL tried three times to get the Lord to help with the thorn in his flesh.....all three times the Lord said no and Paul concluded that this thorn was there to keep him humble, when he was weak the power of God rested upon him and God's grace was sufficient to deal with said thorn.......

I am sorry dc, if you do not address the point Gods is saying in Ezek ,
then ofcourse you can make up what you want.
All of Gods word is a coherent piece of revelation.
Using words like delusion, that I cannot read etc. is shameful.
It unfortunately means you have just lost the argument, without even making
your defence.
I am amazed that anyone of faith would use this kind of approach.
But then maybe faith does not really matter to you, just being part of your group.
I wish you well, but Gods word is Gods word, not to be dismissed because we answer
to Him.
But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.

Now we have a reason to say the ceremonial law is now passed and we are
under the law of Christ. Now there are good theological reasons for saying
this and unless you can show them to be wrong, this is the Lords truth.

Ok so maybe she thought that too like God is keeping theese spots here for reason and lost her faith even more and then rebelled against God.
Now you would say it is impossable for one who have tasted the heavenly gifts to fall away. Once saved always saved no matter what.
