GPS can be "faked" ( i.e. - it actually operates without satellites ); there is no way possible that [ the issue of my question ] in post #638 can be anything but what it appears to be. It speaks true to reality. No one can escape it.

The sun does not set if the earth is flat. That's been established, so it's no longer a matter of ignorance: you're lying.

If the moon was the source of light it would only ever appear as a sphere.
And it is obviously solid and spherical without an atmosphere observable from

I said this to make the point that Flat Earth was not impossible just because the explanation was different about why and how the sun 'appears' ( 'rises' ) and 'disappears' ( 'sets' ) every day.

In the context of a discussion about Flat Earth versus Ball Earth, the words 'rise' and 'set' ( with regard to the sun ) have broad-enough definitions - mostly because we have all been using the words 'rise' and 'set' all of our lives when talking about the "coming" and "going" of the sun - to enable people to use the words constructively without creating / having 'semantics' issues.
You are just "playing with words" in order to try to give them 'narrow' definitions that you hope will only make sense in a Ball Earth context.
You are deliberately causing totally unnecessary confusion.

He will be even more surprised to find out that NASA has gone to great lengths to deceive even [ most of ] the people in its own organization - who believe that their work is real ( in the sense of "primary goal accomplishment"; i.e. - putting the rover on mars, for example ).
Does your cousin have [ personal ] incontrovertible proof of the existance of any satellites in space -- or, is it even remotely possible that what his work "sees" as "proof" can actually be 'faked' for his 'benefit'...?
