I'm the one being aggressive?

You just came to a Christian forum and said,

"I truly believe the world would be a better place without religion."

No, I think you're right.

Religion should stay, it has brought us so much understanding, compassion and love over the centuries.

Awesome to have you here on CC. On the issue of your personal choice you have made to not believe in God I look forward to having a worthy dialogue to suggest that there is ample evidence to believe in God and good reasons why one should. I could give you my story and others as well about how we all came to faith from all sorts of differing backgrounds and world views but its suffice to note that for any worth while conversation that is to be made it should be given with clarity and substantial evidence.
The problem with evidence is that once it's presented you no longer need to believe in the thing that's now evident. Now Christians say the world over that it is by faith, experience and the unseen that they draw their understanding about God on, but then they say "We have evidence!"

Well what is it, evidence or faith?

I agree the world would be better off without religion. Religion is all about rule and traditions and worshiping idol God's that you never get to know you never have an actual connection and relationship with them you have to have all kinds of laws and holy writings memorized to the T and many are never good enough and need to work severely to be able to go to any kind of eternal life.

Christianity- at least real Christianity is not religion is it?
It has become that now, church, worship services, tithing, bible study, preaching, and the rest

Yep it's a religion.

Wow... it's amazing how many offensive comments you could pack into one post.

Excellent work.
:)

"I personally have nothing against religion other than when it is used to inflict pain on others.
Like what is going on in the United States."

So... Christians in America are "inflicting pain on others"?

Why don't you unpack that for us.

It's called indoctrination and yes it $%#&@*" hurts.

so maybe the right thing to do would be to welcome him and try to educate him, which would bring glory to God instead of trying to run him out!! Shouldnt we be trying to bring souls to Christ? and not pushing people away? Especially someone who clearly is missing pieces of the puzzle with his comment " Are those different from the regular commandments?" It don't sound like he knows what is being talked about when commandments are mentioned.
The Jesus jigsaw has a lot of missing pieces.

Wasn't going to weigh in but after reading some of the comments and being disappointed in them, I will.

To those that are jumping on the offense: this person is clearly not saved and is deceived. As Christians we should understand such, and with the heart of Christ respond in wisdom with salt AND grace/love.

"Things also actually get done" "...rather than just praying for things to happen in my life" "My life has really improved since I stopped believing" ---> To me this sounds like you were somewhat lazy / unproductive / inactive before and relying on God for everything. The Bible tells us we must work hard and be active in accomplishing things in our lives, in addition to putting our trust and faith in Him. You can't just pray to get a job and not apply, for example. What kind of loving father would give you everything you asked for without making you work for it/earn it? That wouldn't be very good parenting at all.

I personally have nothing against religion other than when it is used to inflict pain on others. Like what is going on in the United States. I truly believe the world would be a better place without religion. Look at how many wars have been fought over differing ideas. How many people have died because of this.
Again, you are completely misunderstanding, love... Not sure where to begin explaining... I will just summarise and say that the world is how it is, in its violence, war, and hate, because of sin. Because people do not know God/ the truth thus haven't been 'born again' with the Holy Spirit. God IS love and if the world knew Him there would be much less hate (not none because we can still make mistakes- we need a saviour because we are innately sinners)! The violence and hate you speak of are SINS. God forbids them. So, you cannot blame God for people's disobedience. It is people's inherent sinful nature and Satan who continues to deceive us into hating, being jealous, etc etc that are to blame.

Moreover, other 'religions' (and 'false' Christianity) are a creation of Satan, so that people have so many lies to believe that it's that much harder to come to know God, also obviously to bring division and confusion.

ALL of this wisdom is written in God's holy word the Bible. (But please note you must take scripture in the context of the entirety of the Bible, otherwise you may misunderstand.) Also, if you read the Bible without the Holy Spirit you probably will not understand. So I do suggest reading it but definitely pray first and foremost for God to reveal Himself and the truth to you, IF you truly desire to know it. Jeremiah 29:13. If you don't truly desire to know Him, He is not a fool, so don't waste your semi-effort prayers lol. I pray you will though for your eternal sake. <3

I have OCD when it comes to writing and I'm sure I could word this a whole lot better, but I won't attempt to amend. I hope this makes sense. If you would like scriptural evidence or have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask or PM? God bless! :)

Why would you find any of that offensive? Would you prefer I just not be honest? Ive come here to learn and partake in this forum. I just don't understand why you feel the need to bully me. I have a hard time feeling bad about expressing my views. I am sorry that they upset you so much.
I wonder what makes Christians morally unique, when it is obvious that they have just as much trouble with understanding people as the "non believers" do.

They don't seem any different from you and I and how humanly flawed we are.

All for the best I say, if they were morally superior (Like spiritual super men/women) we'd probably be living in a very different world.

Well i agree they either believe or they do not. To me its more or less about which worldview makes the MOST sense given what it claims. The Christian Faith is the only world view whereby it best explains this world and reality and is consistent with every known field of study.
You'll have to explain that one to me.

I might have to disagree, I have had discussions with people and have noticed they will often times say its better to believe so you don't end up in hell. That sounds more like fear to me. Which i guess is where the phrase fear of god comes from. I often think this is why people close to death find god. They might not truly believes but it gives them peace and that is very important for most people.
When the heaven do they say that?

Quoting your own words back to you, and asking questions about them, is not being a "bully".
The Bible actually teaches us to question and test people's words.

If you aren't ashamed of your own words, then quoting them back to you shouldn't be a problem.

So far, you have actually started making accusations against ME.
You came to a christian forum, made statements which you KNOW are antithetical to our beliefs, and CONTROVERSIAL.
So how can anyone here be a bully for QUESTIONING YOU for BEING INTENTIONALLY CONTROVERSIAL?

You came here making intentionally controversial statements,
and when I questioned you about your own words...
YOU have started making accusations against ME.

I didn't call YOU any names.
But you've done that to me.

You don't get to come here, make intentionally controversial statements, and then when someone questions you... you get to call them names and act like a victim.

Watching this same thing happen every day just makes me tired.

It's so transparent.

And so old.

Take a break, have a KitKat.

That is a very true observation because the Christian Worldview is the only worldview that not only knows but also attempts to explain the true state of humanity. Again it comes down to what makes MOST sense given the reality and world we live in.
How does it know? None of you are even sure about what your scriptures are saying, regarding a great deal of subjects.

Sure :) If it is true that there is a hell and believing in Christ ensures ones eternal wellbeing, then one is not merely responding out of fear of hell but are responding out of a love for the truth. Now i agree with you that people do indeed believe because they have a healthy fear and view of Gods judgement i.e. hell, but what makes a world view consistent and grounded is not what people are feeling or not feeling but rather what makes a consistent and grounded world view is its ability to accurately reflect every single aspect of reality and give answers for why this is the case.
God can do anything, but this way is the anything you believe he does?

Many Christians pride themselves on their belief's because since only death can prove or debunk their beliefs, they're sitting pretty.

What im saying is that the Christian faith accurately makes the most sense out of everything and therefore has a firm grip on reality and attempts to explain it How? Through Jesus Christ who taught the truth about humanity, the truth about reality and the truth about himself. Ultimately claiming he is TRUTH because in him everything makes sense and in him is where we find ultimate meaning and purpose.
Of all the world views Christianity makes the most sense, how?

You'll have to explain that one to me.

It's called faith, not priding ourselves on our beliefs.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Then if that's the case, get out of evidence land and go back to faith land.

Where Jesus can save you all from Bowser's world.

ahh... the standard "don't be a hater" reply, when someone asks you a simple question.

If you went on a muslim forum and started slamming good ol' Mohommad, I imagine they would be very open and welcoming to you...

Why do you expect to come onto ANY forum and completely denounce the main PURPOSE of that forum, and not have some negative response?

And, if you think Max's questions were "bullying", I would suggest you are WAY too delicate for most of this forum.

but, welcome, anyway.... this ought to be interesting. And I think we'll be able to tell very early on if you are telling the truth about your comment, highlighted in red above.

Everything is false outside your biblical views, even against your own brothers and sisters.
