For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. IT IS BECAUSE OF HIM THAT YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our RIGHTEOUSNESS,HOLINESS AND REDEMPTION. Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”

I would agree with all these passages, However, they do not counter to what said. so not sure what your trig to get at.

IF God is the great changer as they claim (and we KNOW he is) then to say God may FAIL to change us and we lose salvation because of it. well just contradicts the fact, God is the great changer,

You can;t have it both ways.

The difference here is simple.

One group are saying God changes them despite their will.
The other group are saying God changes them in co-operation with their will.

One is a gospel of coercion or force where there is no exit door,
and the other is love driving God and man together into harmony and oneness.

Now which one is the picture God continually gives us?

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Rev 3:20

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matt 7:24

Both the above verses are about listening, opening, putting something into practice.
There is 100% co-operation.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matt 11:29

The reason I am here talking, sharing, being is because I am choosing to do
this and God is choosing to provide me with support, His word and His blessing.
We work together. We are one, because all I am sharing is His truth and love,
which He has brought about in me.

What is obvious to us, is how the opposition are so certain of what they have,
yet use all the wrong tactics and are so convinced of their position yet the whole
of Gods working testifies against them.

God lets man show His foolishness of choice, and blinds them, and makes them deaf
to emphasis the foolishness of their position.

"He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn—and I would heal them."
John 12:40

You see this very truth demonstrated here today.

People who truly repent, who truly have faith in God. They want saved, they chose of their own free will to say yes God, I want to be changed, I want to become more like you.

What a glorious promise of God. I WILL CHANGE YOU.

Jesus stands at the door. He does not bang it in and force his way into our lives, He wants us of our own free will to say yes Lord, I want you to come in. I want you to change me, I know it will be hard. I am a person who loves all these things But I want you to change me in-spite of that, Because I see those things are not good for me, So lord, please help me, even what I lack faith.

Don't be mocking God, and tell them he can change them, then in the next breath tell them he may not be able to change them, they have to help. Talk about giving a person false hope. the first sign of problem that person faces, he will run. why? Because they already admitted to God they can't do it. Now they are told they must depend on self.

Instead. give them this hope. a promise from God himself

1. He who begun a good work in you WILL COMPLETE IT until the day of Christ.

2. By one sacrifice, He HAS PERFECTED those who CONTINUES TO SANCTIFY.

God does not give up. and he does not fail. let every babe in christ know this, DO not give them false hope.

the inevitable accusation of preaching a license to sin.

This is not understanding how huge the grace is that is given in the first place.

A perfect God.. gives eternal salvation to fallen man.. that is grace beyond understanding!

I heard that my Southern Hemisphere brother......and for sure....these "workers for" will not shake my faith...the bible is clear...saved by faith and faith alone......too bad they will go before Jesus and boast of their works as part of their salvation and right to enter....only to be cast into the lake-o-fire!

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ONLY HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in heaven. The will of the FATHER is to believe on the one he sent (JESUS) not interject yourself and your works as part of the equation....Galatians calls ALL who add works to faith for salvation fools.......so................!

The thread title shoud have read "Not By Works Along."

Actually it can also read.....BY FAITH ALONE.....to add works to FAITH for salvation makes one a FOOL....see Galatians chapter 1 and 3............!

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Now if one holds no believer can actually walk righteously, in fulfillment of the law you
are then contradicting this very scripture.

And as the whole argument of your group is you cannot do this, it is a fair summary of
mine to state what I stated.

This is why the blind are leading the blind. Scripture is very plain and complete about
its testimony. Now Jesus and walk in His ways and you will fulfill the law of Christ.

And the disdain in your voice, the condemnation is very clear. But where does it come
from when I am proclaiming the truth of Gods word. And do you understand how profound
that is, it is not me, I am merely acknowledging what Christ has given us in His death and
resurrection.

You look at the chosen of Christ, those who died for their testimony, as despised people
and not brothers and sisters in Christ who offered up their lives as a living sacrifice pleasing
and acceptable in the sight of God.

he may be worse, He actually has alot of Good to say, and often makes good point. Sadly, intertwined in those good points are errors that basically contradict all the good he said..

I guess sea bass is in another thread spreading his false religion since he was banned from this one.

I just do not get how people can post over ad over how God changes us, or God does this and that, Yet deny it all at the same time.

I agree.....end of story....I am born of incorruptible seed the moment I acknowledged Jesus and asked him to save me and forgive me of my sins....either the righteousness of Christ is applied by faith or it is not.....to say that Jesus has not NAILED all my sin to the cross rejects the very essence of what he has done.......to me...those who deny this and or interject self into the equation have rejected the finished work of JESUS...end of story!
