My wife and I used to attend church with a couple about 10 years ago who really had their roles backwards. The wife dominated her husband like you would not believe! Whenever we all went out to eat together, all of us when we left the restaurant (except the wife) would walk to the car and she would stay back and stand at the curb outside of the restaurant and would make her husband pull up to the curb, get out of the car (he was grumbling all the way!) and open the car door for her and then shut the door. She would then proceed to tell us, "that's how a man is supposed to treat a woman." One time we were all eating at a restaurant together and the husband got up after ordering a salad (and I presumed at the time) that he went to the bathroom. 15 minutes passed by and someone else at the table made a comment that he has been in the bathroom for a while and they wonder if he is alright. The wife commented that he did not go to the bathroom and that she sent him to the grocery store to pick up her favorite salad dressing because the restaurant did not have it.:eek::eek:
Yea that's pretty bad. It's fine to be a gentleman for your lady but it seems she didn't even appreciate it.

I agree, Desertrose.

My first inclination was to offer a well-reasoned counter-argument, but after having read your post, I think the best thing for the OP is for both male and female members to message him privately. It sounds as if he's projecting some personal hurt onto the proper role(s) for women as proscribed by God.
I also kind of sensed this was more about personal pain, I think he needs someone to help council him but as to if he wants or will accept ti idk sometimes people don't want healing they just want to lash out their anger and pain.

I have learned a lot from both anger and pain but not all learn from it some get destroyed by it

I don't think your getting the fruits you were after, instead of people getting agitated and barking back I think everyone is instead feeling compassion for you and praying for you I know I sure feel this way

The sad thing is while I agree he only did this to start chaos there are men out there who think like this

No problem Blain,
I'll bet most women don't care for them.
Mutual respect is a great gift.

That was the problem! Now if he voluntarily opened the car door for her himself or voluntarily did other things for her because he wants to and is a gentleman and she appreciates him, that's fine, but she forced him to do things on many occasions that he did not want to do. He complained about her being a control freak all the time! She about drove us crazy at times, always trying to give us advice, like we were idiots or something.

It kind of takes the meaning out of it if the man is forced to do those things and if he isn't even appreciated for them that just makes it worse.

That is not what Scripture says. Sin entered the world through one man, ADAM.

HA HA HA HA!! This is the most perfect response to any post I think I have ever heard. and biblical to boot.. AMEN SISTER!!!

***Adam blamed it on a woman too...
I blame my wife when I can't find something and I have even accused her of hiding things from me. Also, my wife keeps saying that I never listen to her...or something like that. :p

good to know I am not the only one who has this struggle.. lol:p

1st Timothy 2:14 " And Adam was not decieved, but the woman being decieved, fell into transgression".

She lured and tempted Her husband to sin. Sin entered the world through Adam, yes, but only through Eve first.

You hypocrites, who twist the scriptures to your own advantage! But I rather believe that most of you are obviously ignorant of the scriptures.

How is it, men, that you defend the woman, when you yourselves are guilty as well?

You prove the scriptures that Eve was first to sin!

You need to read agan.

EVE WAS DECEIVED.. ADAM KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING.

Eve did not decieve anyone, she was decieved herself and adam did nothing to stop her (like a man should have)

How can you be born again if you refuse to accept responsibility for your choices when it comes to sin?

Should you then be aloud to vote?!!!

Indeed a profound difference between being deceived and disobedience.

What did I tell you to do Adam

Know you not that the commandment of the law came to both Adam and Eve regardless of sex?

I must say, you are very ignorant of the scriptures, unless your covering your own sins!

Sin entered the world through eve, the mother of all the living. She was the first to commit spiritual adultry.

When the Lord said that the woman's desire shall be for her husband, He was referring to the woman controlling the man, in the same way that the desire of sin mastered Cain.

When a woman exercises authority over a man, it is generally a disgrace to society. This is why Deborah the Judge came along when everything was in chaos and turned upside down.

Israel had worshipped female deities.

Deborah was a wise woman who held to traditional scriptural respect for the social order that God, who is a male, created.

WOMEN WHO EXERCISE AUTHORITY OVER A MAN, ARE A DISGRACE TO SOCIETY, BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CHURCH!!!
I think women have as much right to exercise authority over men as men have to exercise authority over women. Actually, I don't know why anyone would want to exercise authority over anyone. Isn't that the Lord's job?
