I don't know what a vineyard church is, . I kind of felt some trepidation in posting, I realize many people see nothing wrong with women being pastors and teachers. I do think it is a side issue that Christians can disagree about, I know some people interpret the passage as meant only for Timothy's congregation and something not meant for today.

I wondered if anyone would agree with me.

I'm another woman who doesn't believe a woman is supposed to be a pastor. But, I also don't think it's a sin or evil or anything terrible if a woman is a pastor.

I find it pretty fascinating that Angela and I both came to a point in our lives when we felt lead to do something that many are convinced is a man's job in the church. (I wanted to be a Christian counselor, except to do that, I'd have to counsel husbands and fathers. She felt lead to be a pastor.) We both prayed and put in due diligence in studying what the Bible told us and came up with opposite answers. God clearly told me I shouldn't. He clearly told her she should.

I love how God can use the same words in the same book for two totally different people and answer each of our questions in completely different ways. Wonderful God we serve.

The administration of abuse for the purpose of subjugation is not gender-specific by any means but you just said a ton.

About the 1950s housewife. My stepdad worked the day shift and mom worked the second shift. She also kept the house in good order though me and sister would help clean up while she was sleeping.

The 1950's was truly a time of prosperity in this country. Both of my grandmothers had jobs while they raise their kids. Mom's generation did not. (She was a 1950's and 1960's housewife.)

But, I got my genes from Mom. The reality was she wanted to work. Her brother told me she had the type of mind that she could have, and should have been a CEO for a Fortune 500 company. Dad wouldn't have it. So, Mom being Mom, the house was always perfect. (Three and then four kids and no toys left around. Company could come at anytime and nothing to be embarrased about to the point you could wipe your hand along the top of a doorway and not get any dust.) And to add to that, (and this was back in the days when she ironed sheets, and all our clothes), she was also the Girl Scouts leader, the den mother for my brother's cubs scouts, she helped start Head Start in our town, she was the lady behind the table on election day, and when an employee of our Catholic school called out sick, Mom replaced the person. Which means I got stuck with Mom at school when she was the librarian, a teacher, and the lunch lady. lol

Finally, when the three of us were old enough to stay by ourselves at home, she got that job she always wanted. She became a teacher. I was the youngest at 10. Dad didn't want her to work, and it just so happened nine months later (two weeks before school ended), my little brother was born. Dad won.

I got her genes. I'm no housewife either. She was one, but only out of the love she had for us kids.

But the threat headline is correct, but I would rather say " disgrace to Gods creation order" Even if the most are not agree with it. When a woman exercises authority over a man, it is generally a disgrace to society. This is why Deborah the Judge came along when everything was in chaos and turned upside down.

Israel had worshipped female deities.

Deborah was a wise woman who held to traditional scriptural respect for the social order that God, who is a male, created.

Now Adam did not talk with the serpent so he was going by the testimony of Eve. her words wasn't a direct in your face deception/temptation like what happened to Eve, Adams choice was does he believe Eve and eat the fruit or obey God.

And that's how sin entered the world through mankind. One man will yea they were husband/man and wife/ wo man as one and to another conformation is Eve was created from Adams rib. both still came from the same dirt..

Everyone has fun with the,"who is better men or women", we had such a discussion in the 6th grade(I stayed out of it). The problem with this discussion and others like it, is because it is not really about women any more then it was about washing feet, Peter took a defiant stand against Jesus and said, You will NEVER wash my feet. The answer from the Lord was swift, I either wash your feet or you are OUT. When a professing believer decides to bump heads with God then you lose, God will never back down. These scriptures are so crystal clear so that no one will have an excuse at the judgement, ICor let your women keep silence in the churches..for it is a shame for a woman to speak in church...these things are the commandments of God. 1Tim 2:11 let the woman learn in silence, but I suffer not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over the man. The very least one can get out of this is that the men are to do the speaking(leading)in church. Pentecostalism produced a host of false teachings, one of which is that a woman can have a position of authority over men in the church. Would God tell a woman to take authority over men in a church after had God already said do not do it? Not a chance! There are professing Christians who claim that God told them to marry someone else's husband or wife, howl like a wolf, steal, lie, cheat, write false books, be homosexual, the list goes on and on. God tells us through His word, false spirits tell us to disobey Gods word...simple. If a spirit told a woman to take authority over men in the church then that had to be a false spirit because it contradicted the word of God...simple.

It's double-talk, a double standard. You, woman, can speak behind the pulpit, as long as you don't say you're ministering or preaching.

You can teach children better than anyone, and actually do it, but you can't be called "youth minister". You can keep records of the church's finances, & if you have a master's degree in Finance & business, you can give professional advice "in an advisory capacity" to our board of elders, but you can't hold any title relating to that in the church. You can "train" all of our faculty of the church in their roles, but you can't hold their positions.

I've even seen women leading music worship as allowed by the board, but could only do so under a man holding the "worship leader/minister" position who knew nothing about worship.....just to say a "man" was in place.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

So salvation will likewise come from a woman or a race? I don't think so. The point very clearly being made is that sin came by Adam, one man, and likewise from one man, called the second Adam or Jesus Christ, will come salvation. Some men may need to have a man repeat that bit of sensibility to them, since they are senseless when it comes to receiving sensible things from women.
