Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us).

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Emmanu-el. El means god. It doesn't mean Yahweh. El-ohim means gods plural. It may represent God above all gods, but that would insinuate that there are more than one.

Man for goodness sakes I been in 2 very heated debates over stupid stuff that don't really matter. Read the scriptures for what they say and stop trying to outsmart the Bible with our pathetic human knowledge. If it says Jesus is God then he is God. If it says he is the son then he is the son. All scripture is as one. We can not ignore some and put all our beliefs on some. No we must consume them all as God's word speaking directly to US.

No freaking wonder people look at Christians and say they don't want any part of being a Christian. I mean we can't even agree on who Jesus is, even though the Bible plainly says it.

Have you ever considered there are many things we are not meant to understand in this life?

We are called to MAKE THE MOST OF JESUS. AND..... Matthew 28:18-20New International Version (NIV)

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

But yet we debate over tiny stuff compared to what really matters. It is amazing though what the evil one can do. We all read the same book but yet people have to understand everything. We can not handle the thought some things must take faith.

Especially when people read scriptures that do not fit Thier personal opinions they undermine it or ignore it completely.

Matthew 28:18-20 has a lot of verbs which we are commanded to take action. Do you honestly believe where this conversation has lead to, actually brings God glory?

Nope, three individuals. We worship the Father. Yeshua is our brother and is sitting at the right hand of the Father. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us.
.......... What lol

When I pray it's to all 3 but I see me as praying to God. I don't pray to one and exclude the others that's silly. I pray to God end of story

The Thread Title...............look there........anyway...........

There is more to this than simple disputations of no value. We are suppose to contend for the Faith, and to rebuke false teachings............soooooooo, it is kinda necessary to make sure folks visiting here are exposed to Biblical Truth when such Threads as this arise.

Now, it can go on and on, and become of no value, but it is necessary to post Biblical Truth. Then one can move on. And spread the Gospel.

(not saying you are right or wrong)

When I pray, I pray to God the Father as Jesus said we are to do. I bring my petitions to Him in the Name of Jesus Christ, God the Son, as Jesus said we should do. For He is our Intercessor. And, when I am unable to verbalize my petitions, I trust the Holy Spirit will pray for me, just as Jesus said He would.

For me......me only..........I end my prayers by saying "I ask these things in the Name of Jesus Christ." It is popular to say "In Jesus's Name I pray, or in Christ's Name I pray, and that is ok, not saying it isn't. But, I know Jesus said whatever we ask in His name.......

Anyway.........just putting out some thoughts here.......

I like your explanation. I was saying I don't see prayer as a 3 way phone call. When I pray to God which is God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I am praying to all the personifications of God. In my mind I'm speaking to all 3 but I truly believe it doesn't really matter if you use Jesus name, Holy Father or the Holy Spirit. You will still be praying to God. After all God hears and knows everything.

We do not debate for the sake of debate (well not everyone). For the most part we are trying to get a clearer picture of Scripture to validate our beliefs, not just to share the truth with others but for ourselves. Since faith has just about everything to do with salvation, we want to make sure we have an actual saving faith. Too many loose ends and lack of explanation causes a weak foundation. Our Heavenly Father wants us to seek Him and find Him as buried treasure. He rewards the diligent with wisdom. I don't need to guess or hope because I have done so much research. Its like putting together a puzzle but somebody hid most of the pieces. There are a lot of pieces in the Bible, but you still have to fit it all together. Too many people are taking a few pieces, arranging them the way somebody says they go and think that that is the whole picture. When you have all of the pieces, arrange them properly you finally see the whole picture and everything finally makes sense. Everything makes sense! That is the joy of wisdom and understanding. Then when you read the Bible you understand it more. It's like you've learned a new language fluently.

As for the title, Is Jesus God? Yes! Is the Heavenly Father God? Yes! Are they the same person? No! If you research the words individually that they use "God" to cover, you can quickly see that they are not using it to identify one individual. When Yahweh said, "I am the Lord your God and you shall have no other gods before Me," that is the Father and the first among "equals". He is the One who gives authority to the Son. We go in the Name of the Son to the Father. I'm not going to say the Holy Spirit is not Divine in the hierarchological sense, but we give it the title of "G/god". I haven't come across any Bible reference stating that it/he is "God". I don't know if this helps or hurts anyone's understanding (not to mention my credibility) but properly defining the words changes the meaning and ultimately our understanding.

I know many believers who can't answer your question, but I'm sure they will be saved. They are just like you: they love Jesus, hope to meet him someday, believe He died for their sins, etc.
I understand your sentiments, and absolutely believe we are to love Jesus with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, but the 2 elements of salvation hinge on belief that Jesus is raised from the dead after 3 days, AND confessing JESUS AS LORD.

Yes, we will one day be totally in His Presence, but that doesn't mean we don't meet Him (know Him) NOW.

It amazes me that people who find things unimportant will engage in a discussion on that unimportant matter and get all worked up about it because it is not important......

Simple solution.. Do not engage in a topic if you believe it is unimportant..

Yeah... But one person can say JESUS IS LORD and to them the word LORD means nothing more then ""my leader""
Another person can say JESUS IS LORD and to them the word LORD means ""GOD""
So two people can be standing next to each other in the same church and be saying exactly the same thing out of their mouths but they are, in truth, professing two Very different things...

It means the same thing. In both cases you are elevating Him to the authoritative position and you as the subordinate. We capitalize it (L)ord to identify that (H)e is deity. Acknowledging that Christ was Divine and sinless gives credibility to the fact that this blood offering was significant enough to cover the sins of humanity. The offering separates us from the condemnation of sin. We are guiltless before The Almighty Father. Where people lack understanding is that there are metaphysical properties to emotions. Fear, guilt, hate, lust, envy, shame, love, joy and faith all have spiritual "energy" associated to them. Just like we can see light energy with our eyes, the different colours are actually differentiated by the electromagnetic charge or wavelength. Our spirit is "charged" with the energy produced by our emotions. Some people's eyes are able to see this energy called aura. I have little doubt that the "colour" our spirit illuminates is what distinguishes us as Christians.

That's just it, all Christians agree on who Jesus is, God. And that is the "big stuff" that really matters, and that we Christians all stand together with Christ on.

I agree and leave it at that. No sense in wondering about the unknown.
