I always appreciate your opinion brother, but let me share this and tell me what you think. My aunt, years ago when she was a young woman, had very bad nerve problems. So bad that they put her in the mental ward at the hospital. That traumatized her so much that they had to take her back home. She was a shy person and they just could find no help for her. One night at church her cousin was singing. The Holy Spirit fell at that moment and she jumped from her seat and danced around the entire church,my mother was there as a witness. She never had nerve issues again, she was delivered. She was able to move a thousand miles from her home, marry and raise two children.A woman they thought would have to be institutionalized her whole life. Im not for fads,Im not for show. But I know God moves and the Spirit falls and it may seem out of line, but if we test the Spirit we can know if it is false or not.My aunt was delivered that night,no doubt about it.
No doubt the joy in your aunt's heart at what the Holy Spirit had done just overflowed!! Living waters flow from out of our bellies or inner most selves. Those of us who have experienced this know well how the joy of the Lord is our strength and consolation. How He can cause us to want to "mount up with wings as eagles and run and not be weary"
Isaiah 40:31King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]31 [/SUP]But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
[SUP]31 [/SUP]But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.
I especially like the way the Amplified Bible puts this. Sounds like your Aunt had such an experience. But isn't it a sad thing for those of us who grew up in a more subdued religious atmosphere? Many Christians find it hard to show emotion about the greatness of our God. Even to the degree of fearing any kind of showing or sharing emotion is a loss of control. Any kind of giving over to Him with the freedom of knowing He can be trusted.
When the Holy Spirit is here, we will overcome those fears and be able to raise our voices in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs and our hands in praise and worship without fear or doubt it is not from Him.
