Does the Bible say that women were giving birth to spirits? Actually, no it does not say that and so that statement seems to have been added by you.
To clarify... I agree with you that the Bible did not say that women were giving birth to spirits, but that was why I was reproving the Book of Enoch as why it is not accepted scripture because the Book of Enoch does say women were giving birth to spirits which is contrary to the Word of God in the Bible.
Your quote from John has to do with salvation.
Correct in regards to the Old Covenant vanishing as to becoming a son of God by whereas now, there is only one way to become one and that is by faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore angels cannot be the sons of God... ever; not before.. and certainly not now.
We do not even need the book of Enoch to provide and sort of proof. The Bible plainly states what happened regarding the angels who procreated with human women.
Now how can they when God does not join them in marriage as Jesus has said for those women to be called wives to them?
This is unacceptable for some and so they go to great lengths to try and say the Bible does not say that.
But it does say that.
No.. it does not as per Jesus's own words. Jesus said God joins a male and female together to be one flesh. So He would never join an angel and a woman together as one flesh, because angels are not given in marriage nor do they marry.
Matthew 19:[SUP]4 [/SUP]And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,[SUP]5 [/SUP]And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?[SUP]6 [/SUP]Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Matthew 22:30For in the resurrection
they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
I think you are being unfair in your synopsis of what people have said regarding the book of Enoch. You are going beyond what is being said.
It does appear my recollection of where it was written in Enoch has been wrong, but here it is; the correct reference: in Enoch chapter 15 where the women were giving birth to spirits which are these giants in the earth.
The Wesley Center Online: Book Of Enoch
"8 And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon 9 the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling. Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies; because they are born from men and from the holy Watchers is their beginning and primal origin; 10 they shall be evil spirits on earth, and evil spirits shall they be called. [As for the spirits of heaven, in heaven shall be their dwelling, but as for the spirits of the earth which were born upon the earth, on the earth shall be their dwelling.] And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble: they take no food, but nevertheless 12 hunger and thirst, and cause offences. And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them."
Now to find the correct reference in Enoch in denying the truth in His words in Isaiah 55:11
Isaiah 55:[SUP]11 [/SUP]So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
The Book of Enoch calling God a liar as opposing Isaiah 55:11 is quoted here....in Enoch chapter 18...
"8 But the middle one reached to heaven like the throne of God, of alabaster, and the summit of the 9,10 throne was of sapphire. And I saw a flaming fire. And beyond these mountains Is a region the end of the great earth:
there the heavens were completed. And I saw a deep abyss, with columns of heavenly fire, and among them I saw columns of fire fall, which were beyond measure alike towards 12 the height and towards the depth.
And beyond that abyss I saw a place which had no firmament of the heaven above, and no firmly founded earth beneath it: there was no water upon it, and no 13 birds, but it was a waste and horrible place. I saw there seven stars like great burning mountains,
14 and to me, when I inquired regarding them, The angel said: 'This place is the end of heaven and earth: this has become a prison for the stars and the host of heaven. And the stars which roll over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment of the Lord in the beginning of 16 their rising, because they did not come forth at their appointed times. And He was wroth with them, and bound them till the time when their guilt should be consummated (even) for ten thousand years.'"
I have gotten the reference in Enoch wrong, but there it is; and quoted too.
That is why you should not believe Enoch nor read anything of Enoch into scripture.
I have given you scripture from Jesus to believe His words as to why you should be reading His words into Genesis.
But only the Lord can help you see the truth in His words in the accepted Bible as well as to see the lies that are in the Book of Enoch as no lie can be of the truth which is why the Book of Enoch is a fraud.
