It is fast approaching the Lenten season when Jesus was tempted in the desert by Satan.

Often Christian worldwide give up something in memory of what Jesus endured.

I don't think healthwise i could last 40 days without food and don't believe God is calling me to do that anyway.

We already have a Savior who has done that for us.

So instead I am going to use the time I normally spend on this site in the Bible discussion forum. In this forum in prayer.

Everyone is welcome to join me.

I typically love reading what others think of the Bible, trying to make peace, etc in the BDF but I feel called to stand in prayer for the Lenten season instead and trust it all to God's hands.

So I will begin the prayer vigil in my next post.
 
Dear Heavenly father: so many people I know are suffering physical infirmities. Lord we ask for miraculous healing of their body and minds. Fill their hearts with your love, mercy and grace and help us all walk in Your wisdom and truth.

Lord we pray for the homeless.

Lord we pray for those in prison and those who are tempted to commit crimes that will result in their imprisonment.

Lord we pray for the Lost of this world. May they hear and accept the Gospel into their hearts so that you might transform their lives.

Lord we pray for your people. Open our eyes so we might see how our words and actions might glorify you, o God.

In Jesus Holy name we pray, amen.
 
I wish I could fast for the 40 days. I wish my living situation allowed it. Each time in the past when I have fasted it was a wonderful experience.
 
I would have a hard time fasting for 40 hours, but thought maybe one meal a day for lent?

People do that all the time all over the world and call it life, not fasting.

Prayers for people starving,may we as a church help display God's love and feed them both physically and spiritually,
 
Lifting prayers for your wife travel and your friends during their time of loss.

The prayers of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Dear God: we stand before you clothes in Jesus righteousness and pray that you hear our prayers.

Sometimes our hearts can't form the words. Even when all we can do is groan in sorrow, you hear us.

Show us your glory and comfort all who cry out in suffering and pain.
.Lord we pray for healing waters to flow,to the world through us.

In Jesus holy name we pray, amen.

And thank you for your prayers Levi. We add prayers for your wife and the special blessing she is carrying. May they both stay healthy.
 
Praying for Pastor Thule, Aunt Kay and Don, Gary and Lucy, and all our wonderful friends neighbors and relatives in Minnesota facing a blizzard in the next few days!
