That's irrelevant. Military makes religious accommodationso for both Christians and Muslims. Religious discrimination is illegal.

Your logic is flawed as we don't punish people in this country for crimes thard they MIGHT commit

A good move might be to transfer the guy to gitmo.

The muslim devil that opened up on our servicemen in texas needs a allah priest. Let him do those duties in the briggs.

John had two chaplains visit him when he was in the hospital. He really did want to talk to someone about what he was going through with the perspective of God, and yet neither one could help him. Truthfully, he wanted someone who could talk to him, not someone he'd have to evangelize to. (Didn't have the strength to evangelize. Not saying he wouldn't had he been feeling better.)

It really doesn't matter what religion a chaplain is, because they have to be accepting of everyone and everything. So, it doesn't really matter in my way of thinking.

My son is a Marine. He told me there were Muslims in his Squad in basic training. Everyone still receive the proper religious accommodations. Are you assuming that he's going to force everyone to be Muslim?

And replace him with whom? Catholic? Methodist? Presbyterian? Nondenom? Mormon? Baptist? Exactly who does fit your requirements for chaplain? And, wouldn't he/she be stuck being open to any belief system in his/her role anyway?

Everyone gets their choice of religious accommodations in the military. His job is to make sure everyone receives the proper accommodations

If anyone here looks at what they said in judgement of a mere human being who happens to have the label 'Muslim', just think of the German people duped into supporting Nazi Germany against the Jews. All they had to do was make people judge by label rather than as an individual.

If they rounded up Muslims for execution, not based on crime but based on being Muslim, would you be there waving a flag saying God is good and exposing where they are hiding?

Dream on. My husband is a believer and was in a VA hospital. Two chaplains who couldn't give him "accomodations."

Not many people (Christian or otherwise), can be a Chaplin in the armed forces. I have a friend who was a Southern Baptist minister and a Chaplin in the Navy for many years. He said that contrary to what we read in press, he was never told to do anything contrary to his fundamental belief. He was expected to be a Naval Officer, and live by the standards of a naval officer. The last ship that I served on, had a protestant and a catholic Chaplin, and lay leaders for several other religions.

I find it difficult to believe that there is a Muslim Imam who wants to be a Chaplin. As long as he lives by the standards of a military officer, I have no problem with him being a Chaplin.
