While that in no way answers the question regarding your doctrine of what constitutes living matter. In consideration of the fact that creationism is the belief that the universe and living organisms originate from specific acts of divine creation then living matter naturally evolved from non-living matter since God did not create seed, he allowed it to evolve naturally.
Moreover, since the earth was without form and void according to Genesis 1:2, (void implies the earth was without any living matter) then if God said let the non-living matter (earth) bring forth living matter then the issue of whether living matter can naturally evolve from non-living matter without any specific act of divine creation then the validity of creationism should be resolved.
Reading Genesis like this:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
That was the topic and the following verses begins by how God did that in verse 1.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And the earth was without form, and void;...........
That means the earth was not existing yet....thus starting at the beginning on how God created the heaven and the earth, starting with the earth first.
............and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.[SUP]3 [/SUP]And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.[SUP]4 [/SUP]And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.[SUP]5 [/SUP]And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
The first day was created with evening and morning that first day by the light appearing in that darkness and that light was the Word of God aka the Son of God. see John 1st chapter.
Continuing in Genesis 1st chapter....
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.[SUP]7 [/SUP]And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.[SUP]8 [/SUP]And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
From what has been described above, the earth has not been created as a water planet with an upper atmosphere on that second day.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.[SUP]10 [/SUP]And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Now the earth has been created with as one land mass aka Pangaea as theorized by scientists to have been at one time but wrongly estimated it as being billions of years ago.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and
God saw that it was good.[SUP]13 [/SUP]And the evening and the morning were the third day.
God created plants bearing seeds that third day and said it was good; ergo.. finished as not evolving into anything else.
That was all done on the same third day when land appeared; thus was when the earth was created first.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:[SUP]15 [/SUP]And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.[SUP]16 [/SUP]And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.[SUP]17 [/SUP]And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.[SUP]19 [/SUP]And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
That was when God created the heavens so that the lights would govern the earth that fourth day.
That means no matter how long it takes light to reach the earth, God had set up the universe and filled in the gap with that light to govern the earth that evening and morning that fourth day.
Isaiah 55:[SUP]8 [/SUP]For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.[SUP]9 [/SUP]For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.[SUP]10 [/SUP]For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Do note the significance of evening and morning after each day of creation; it does not give any leeway for billions of years to occur inbetween any of those days when everything happening in creation is happening in consecutive order as each day after the other by the evening and morning marking each day of creation.
No one can say that the heaven and the earth was created suddenly in the very first verse because the heavens were not there yet until the fourth day to give light to govern the earth for times & seasons for which they were created.
So to say that the earth was there but void is not according to the truth in His words which is why the first first was the topic, and the following verses was explaining how God created the heaven and the earth.
This topic actually ends at Genesis 2:3 before it starts another topic on giving the specification as to what had happened on that sixth day from whence all the generations of man had come from in Genesis 2:4.
Genesis 2:[SUP]
4[/SUP]
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,[SUP]
And so begins the second topic in Genesis on a more detailed event on that sixth day when the generations of men were created from.
5 [/SUP]And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and
there was not a man to till the ground.
So this is a recap of the sixth day about where the generations of men came from in a more detail account as it states at the end of verse 5 that men was not created yet to even till the ground.
6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.[SUP]7 [/SUP]And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Verse 6 describes how the earth was being taken care of before man was created and in detail as from the dust of the ground; not climbing out of the sea macroevolving from species to species before God finally got it right in creating a man. That would also testify that man was not responsible for bringing death in the world if the evolution theory is true.
Which the evolution theory is not.
Jesus validated scripture as something that cannot be broken.
John 10:35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and
the scripture cannot be broken;
Jesus validated the first marriage in scripture of that sixth day in Genesis.
Matthew 19:[SUP]4 [/SUP]And he answered and said unto them,
Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,[SUP]5 [/SUP]And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?[SUP]6 [/SUP]Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Jesus even validated the creation of the seventh day.
Mark 2:[SUP]27 [/SUP]And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:[SUP]28 [/SUP]Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
So... there is no room for the evolution theory in the written word of the Bible. You need to ask Jesus to help you trust His unchanging words over the ever changing words of the evolution theory, because it is a lie and no lie can be of the truth so why bother to even compromised His words to make it true when His words says it is not true at all?
