[h=2]Genesis 1:26- We have the word man, or adam ( adam meaning man ): God created man, on the sixth day. ( no article nor particle, & with Elohim ). Those are important to be able to tell the difference between the man mentioned later.[/h][h=2]When man is mentioned in Genesis 1: 27: , it is ‘eth-’Ha adham ( Hebrew characters too ) Just like we find in Genesis 2:.[/h][h=2]So there is not only one mention of the man with the particle an article , in Genesis chapter 2:7[/h][h=2]If all races of people were created on the sixth day ( omit thee “Adam” through whom Christ would be born ), why then do we find the ‘eth-’Ha adham mentioned on the sixth day ( verse 27 ) ?[/h][h=2]The reason is : first we have in verse 26 “”Let us make man ( adam/man without article etc) in our image, after our likeness:”” Not God, but Elohim ( plural- the angles, or God & the angels ) .[/h][h=2]Then in verse 27 : we find ‘eth-’Ha adham in this verse also.
Note: ( for we non Hebrew scholars : ) when we look at the “Hebrew lettering” for the word adam/man in ( verse 26 ) without article nor particle; we can recognize it by comparing the length of the characters with the “man” found in verse 27 .I will post a image of a copy of these manuscripts in Hebrew ( Images are from the Greens Interlinear OT & NT.
[/h][h=2]Bullinger says: “Here the Hebrew ‘adam has the article, and the demonstrative Hebrew ‘eth, to indicate that the man adam created in chapter 2:7 was the “man” here purposed.”[/h][h=2]Basically ,from what I can grasp ; we don’t have the Elohim here in this instance, we just have God. And His intent to create ” ‘eth-’Ha adham” we find later, in Chapter 2:7. This offering a reason He would include Himself, in the statement in verse 26 along with the angels. Christ would be in God’s image ( Hebrews 1:3 ).[/h][h=2]Hebrews 2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;……[/h][h=2]This show why we have the “man” , mentioned in Genesis 1:27, and further the absence of a tiller of soil on day six. And why we have a tiller of the soil being created after day seven, on the 8th day, that day Adam and Eve were told they would die in that” day” .[/h][h=2]( I”ll add quotes )
Genesis 1:27 So ” God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; ” male and female created he them.[/h][h=2]In God’s image here alone. Back in verse 26 we see, adam, as in man, without the article = Hebrew of mankind, and the inclusion of the Elohim :[/h][h=2]26 And God said, Let us make man in our image ( Elohim – plural ), after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.[/h][h=2]( Genesis 2 )[/h]
The Hebrew characters of verse Genesis 1: 26 is shorter in length; then ‘eth-’Ha adham you find in verse 1:27, & 2: 7, Which is much longer: showing the particle and article.
[h=2]Hope this made sense . Not sure if bullinger believed that this is two separate creations of peoples, But I believe for the most part the evidence here is for that direction . It clears up why we have “thee man” mentioned in Genesis 1:27. And adds more clarity to the English .[/h][h=2]Now the only reason Adam is singled out in Genesis 2:7 is because Christ would be born through that seed line, through Eve.[/h][h=2]Though there were other peoples already created: Eve would not be known as the mother of all. But the mother of all living eternally . Because through Eve, to Mary, would eventually arrive Christ; who we are either in Him; if not we don’t have that eternal life.[/h][h=2]It also is the reason why Satan, would target Eve in Eden. And why the sons of God, ( fallen angels ) of Genesis 6: would attack Noah, and the daughters of ‘eth-’Ha adham. ( Jude 1 )[/h]
