I'm so sorry to hear about how things are digressing... I know that one's appearance is an indication of their health- maybe just try to avoid those discussions? Lord Jesus, even now- please make Your presence very real to Rod and to Happy; give them both the peace they need and the compassion they have for each other- even though at times it doesn't show. Let LOVE reign over all, so that You may be glorified!!!

Stress causes exhaustion too, and this is about as stressful as life gets. It also causes anger.
Rod's going to be angry and you're going to be angry. Feeling helpless and realizing all those plans you had are going up in smoke will do that to both of you. (Add healthcare people who don't seem to be getting you want answers, and wanted them yesterday, also adds to this.)
You're good for Rod. You're the only one he is trusting to talk to (and yell at) right now. That's good. (Hurts like it's not good, but it is.)
Heavenly Father we continue to pray for your grace, mercy peace and love. Lord Jesus, you are the wonderful counselor, the mighty God, The prince of Peace, Please make yourself real in our lives We all need each other and we need you to hold us together. In Jesus name, Amen.
Happy I am praying for you and Rod. I hope you have managed to get away for a few days. I know that hospitals communication can be rubbish. They probably need to do the camera tests so they have more info on the cancer. Not everyone has a lousy time with Chemo, Chemo can sometimes help shrink the tumor and it may help painwise longer term, so it may be worth trying and seeing how Rod gets on with it. Losing weight with cancer is very comman and unexplained weight loss is a cancer red flag. I am also praying that the doctors are given wisdom in regards to treament. Next time you see the doctors Rod needs to talk to them about the pain hopefully they will be able to provide effective pain relief.
We went to Wales today but it ended and we came back home tonight. No dog friendly hotels around. Rod is cramming so much in, he traveled a good few miles. I was tired and he got mad with me because it was late and I moaned to my mam about feeling tired etc he heard me and went mad. Yes his anger and also he felt silly when I told my mam we was sleeping in the car tonight. I'm older now and soon feel tired lol. Yes we clash but then I know how his mind can go. He says very negative things but I know all he's doing is trying to see as much as possible. We are home now I pray His mind settles.
Thank you, I'm very distraught at times seeing today Rod is so low. He feels when hes been for his endoscopy camera down the throat and bottom he will go down hill again. I cant help him with his mind. I feel Im just trying to convince myself all the time, but I know its really happening, I write on here because I feel someone will make me feel better some how.

This is written by a pastor who has cancer. When I was diagnosed with cancer of the mouth (upper palate), and had to have surgery and a prosthetic put in, I approached it as he suggested. Now as I go through treatments of radiation, etc., my peace and trust has never left. I see Jesus' hand right and left - on all sides of me.
The article is good for any trial you are going through. Hopefully, this will help you sort of "reframe" what you are going through. My heart goes out to you - it isn't easy.

Thank you for all your messages. Yes a lot is to do with myself and my coping. Rod wants to travel all over even though he's in pain at times. He is having a colonoscopy camera to look for bowel cancer. On Monday. I ask God to calm him over the next few days. It's so hard because Rod gets very carried away with his feeling and thoughts. I pray he calms down now.
It's okay to be angry, Happy. It's okay to scream and cry at how unfair this life can be to us and our loved ones..
