So you separate yourself from the denominations because you hate them? How is that different?
No that is not why i separate myself from them. it is true that i hate how they separate the church but i myself do not fit into any one denomination, there are beliefs and ways of understanding in many different denominations that i seem to fit into i do not hold to one particular denomination because I do not fully fit into one particular denomination. Also denominations are not important to me regardless of what denomination i would fit into the most that is not my identity as a Christian. as i said before i am that i am and a petty thing like denominations is of no concern to me in my walk with Christ. if I was to concern myself with such a thing he would have let me know

I would say the "values" held within different denominations are a reason I would gravitate to one or the other. Some one particular denomination may hold that "missionary sending" is one of their main priorities. Another might say that "hospital visiting" is their effort of concentration. A third might say that they focus upon outreach to youth. The denomination where I attend is specifically aimed at relevant outreach to the under-privileged.

so good to hear Willie.

ours is from our home - oh the heart-ache that we have to have to learn to bear, but of course,
this is how we grow and learn how to serve as He served us...

I gravitate to a few denominations and avoid a few others.

Labels are helpful sometimes.

Just throwing this out there.

The term "Christian" was given to the people who followed Him by non believers. I'm 99% about the non believers I believe I have read it was even "enemies" .. in Acts it says "the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch" not that they called "themselves" Christians.

We also were called "followers of The Way" (acts 9:2) again I do not think it was a self assigned title by believers about themselves.

What did Christ call us? ;)
Sheep - "“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand," (John 10:27-28).

My denomination is all of the above and more. Lots more.

Right. They separate so you avoid. Avoiding is separating.

the "church" (ekklesia, body) is 1. Scattered 2. Incomplete.

Don't concern "yourself" with them. Be concerned about the people in them. Out of them. Doesn't matter. The unsaved need the Gospel. The saved still... need the gospel ;) and fellowship..what's supposed to happen (does happen) when believers talk is we get to know Him more. Not just learn things, or pick up tips on life or God forbid, "work" to keep our Salvation together in some building...

I agree labels are helpful. But the labels we talk about here are also temporal, and will not be in heaven.

I think you did not read my entire post, or you would not insinuate that I have no love for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I stated that the people there were loving, welcoming, kind, and I love the pastor's wife and the pastor. They were very good to us during times of trouble. I can honestly say I love them, BUT I disagree with their doctrine, not all- but some.

It's alright that you did not read my entire post, as I did not read all of yours.
Beloved sister Galatea, I deeply regret that you have taken offense to yourself through my message. I have no intention of hurting anyone. My time is too precious to waste on something that only serves to keep people from communion with Jesus Christ. On the contrary, I came to this forum with the intention of building true relationships that will help me to know Jesus Christ and his truth better.
The purpose of what I have written is to show everyone that the relationship with Jesus Christ is not a mere religion, but to live in peace, happiness, and love in the company of those whom the Eternal has given us (Romans 14:17).
May Jesus bless you.

Denominations are not important to me. Mainly because there will not be any Denominations in Heaven. Jesus did not instruct, create, or bless Denominational Identity. I can't find any evidence in the Gospel of Christ to support Denominational Identity. If someone can, please post the Scriptures for me.

Thanks........

Well, I don't believe Jesus commanded temples to be built in the Gospels, but God did command temples to be built in the Old Testament, and since Jesus, the Father, and the Spirit are all God, they all wanted the temples built. However, God never commanded denominations to be developed In fact, Paul emphasizes the importance of Christians agreeing with one another (1 Corinthians 1:10) and not worrying about disputable things (Romans 14:1).
I agree with you, Sister Rossela, that we really should not be arguing:

· “But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.” (Titus 3.9)

I also agree that we ought to be united:

· “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.” (Acts 4.32).

· “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1Corinthians 1.10).
· “Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.” (Romans 12.16).
· “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17.21-23).

However, unity has to be firmly established in the spirit (Ephesians 4:3) as a result of the work of the Holy Spirit within each one.
We can’t be satisfied with the existence of various ideas within the Church. After all, there is only one God and one faith (Ephesians 4:3-6).
Hence the importance of striving diligently for the unity of faith (Jude 3). In fact, this is what the forum exists for: together, let us seek to think and feel the same thing:

· “I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord” (Filipenses 4.2).

Unity without truth and love becomes a Tower of Babel.
May Jesus bless you.
