I really don't think this is the place to come looking for someone to help support
your foreign ministry financially. It might even be against the rules to ask for this.
Besides the fact that nobody here knows you, scammers are constantly trying to
bilk people out of their hard earned cash. Please note I am not saying that is what
you are doing. The point is that nobody here knows you. You would be better off starting
up a go fund me page, or enlisting the aid of people in your area, or your home church.

The amount of money wasn't the issue.
The issue was that someone that NOBODY knows ANYTHING about, shows up OUT OF THE BLUE, and without even offering to VERIFY WHO HE IS, or without even offering to VERIFY WHAT HE'S DOING... he expects us to give him money.
This just isn't the proper way to do things.
This is how people get scammed.
The amount of money, or the willingness of people to help, are not the real issues.
The Bible does NOT tell us to just trust everyone blindly.
The bible teaches us to be prudent, and "prove all things."
The issue was that someone that NOBODY knows ANYTHING about, shows up OUT OF THE BLUE, and without even offering to VERIFY WHO HE IS, or without even offering to VERIFY WHAT HE'S DOING... he expects us to give him money.

Not so much the amount as the way some ppl respond to posts like this that I commented. Granted the person was new and really did need financial support as stated in his title, I can say I can have more respect for this ‘nobody’ or somebody I do not know than many other from what countries and continents around the world obviously spamming.
True if funds aren’t there, there is a reason.
If someone comes to ask help from me, or selling stuff, even legit sampaguita lei vendor, I sometimes ask from where she is, say I don’t need the lei (for we don’t have saints or idols at home where these are commonly put). We also have the plant, so… but I do not act as if I had too much but I cannot give a little help. Sometimes the youth would simply ask that u buy some just so their ‘quota’ is reached, and they could go home to buy whatever they need.
There is no need to make the person seem so small. Sure no one of us knows him at all, but he did introduce himself as a pastor of 10 yrs serving indigenous people. Max, I do not say we trust anyone right away, but we could at least do something as getting to know him better. We can verify what he says if we are at all interested in doing tht. I cannot say if he’s a scammer, and I neither want to judge someone just like that based on 1 post.

How do you know that?
Did you travel to Palawan and meet with the person?
Did you speak to his pastor, elders, deacons, family, friends, neighbors?
Do you have any way to verify who the person is, or what he's doing?
Do you really believe every anonymous person who asks for money on the INTERNET is a SINCERE PERSON?
I think you are making a lot of assumptions.
Let's look at what the Bible says.
1Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Let's try same verse in another translation... just so we don't miss it.
1Thessalonians 5:21 but test everything; hold fast what is good.
The Bible clearly tells us to "test" and "prove" the things that we hear.
We also see this in Acts 17:10-11 with the Bereans, who USED THEIR BRAINS, and tested Paul's words against the scripture, to see if his words were true.
God NEVER tells us to be gullible, or willing to be taken in by lies.
God always tells us to be wise, and prudent, and use our brains.
Mat 10:16 be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
I'm ALL FOR helping the needy.
But there's a requirement, a necessity, before I can "help the needy."
Do you know what the requirement is?
I first have to have someone "needy" to help.
So... how do I KNOW whether or not someone is "needy"?
Well... according to the bible, I am to "prove all things."
I would have to check the person out, and see if he is actually "needy", and actually truthful.
You can't help the needy until you know who the needy actually are.
This requires more than the words of an anonymous person on the internet.
Let's think this through.
Let's say I only have $100 this month to give to the needy.
If I give it to some scammer, accidentally, then find out later he's a scammer, that $100 is gone.
Now if I meet someone who really IS needy... I have no money to give them.
Do you see how this works?
Our resources are limited.
No one, not even the richest people, have resources that are unlimited.
Therefore, we need to "prove all things", and give money to those who are "proven" to be needy.
We should ALL be loving, and giving, and generous people.
Christians should ALL be generous people.
But "generous" does not mean "stupid."
How do you know that?

It was stated right in the title: "need someone to support me financially."
1. That's against the site policies, which ANYONE should know to read, on ANY forum, before posting.
2. It's a very odd, and imprudent, and SUSPICIOUS thing to blurt out, in your first post, to people you don't know.
It's not the way most "real" pastors would introduce themselves.
"Hi, I'm Bob, you don't know me, but I need some money."
How many pastors say hello like that?
The guy WAS claiming to be a pastor.
3. Where exactly in the Bible does it tell ACTUAL PASTORS to go around begging complete strangers for money?
That isn't exactly how pastors are told to conduct themselves.
4. A real pastor would probably ask for PRAYER... before asking for money.
He wasn't in the prayer forum.
He wasn't asking for prayer.
He wasn't offering prayer or counsel for others... which a real pastor should be doing.
He was just asking for money... to strangers... with no evidence to back up who is was.
5. Real pastors give their credentials, and the name of their church, and their address and phone number, and their colleagues, and their governing body if they have one... pastors have many ways to verify WHO and WHAT they are.
If a real pastor needs real help... he has many ways to VERIFY who and what he is.
The apostles even used letters of recognition from each other, to help verify who they were.
We still do that today.
Can we PLEASE stop attacking each other for BEING PRUDENT, and WISE, and USING SCRIPTURE, and USING OUR BRAINS!
Can we PLEASE stop being so gullible and ridiculous?

Just hoped some would at least have inquired more abt him or his ministry, if there was really one. and that he'd tell abt it in time.
