Question asked by Pamelasv:
· “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” (Ephesians 4.26)
How do you explain this one? The only kind of anger I am aware of is a righteous anger.
We know,God knows, that we cannot hide our emotions at times, for they will pop up whether we want them to or not,for we have human emotions, and we get mad, sad, and glad.
Living as saints, and it can apply to the world, but they usually handle it the wrong way, people will get us upset, things will get us upset, but when things get us upset, which I will say people mainly,do not sin because of it,and do not let the sun go down on your wrath, for while you are angry that a person upset you,let it go as quick as possible, for you will be mad for the human emotion of anger cannot help but come up,even if a little bit,but do not foster it and elevate it for you want to feel the emotion of angry, but let it run its course, and subside.
A person might cut you off in traffic,do not flip them the bird.A person may insult you with a word,do not insult back.A person may hit your brand new car,do not want to get out of the car,and kick the crap out of them, and if you are hurt do not think to kick the crap out of them.
Whatever people do that would offend us,and insult us,that gets us upset and mad,do not sin because of their action towards you,and do not elevate the emotion because you want to feel angry, but let it runs its course, and subside, for I know sometimes when someone upsets us we want to hold on to anger and enjoy that anger, why, because living as saints and trying to be peaceful people,it is the only way to get revenge is by being angry, for we might not want to physically harm them,or insult them with words, and God said be angry for He knows you cannot help it.
Luk 8:52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
Luk 8:53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
Joh 2:13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
Joh 2:14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
Joh 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables.
Mar 3:5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Mar 3:6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
Jesus being God manifest in the flesh, had the emotion of anger according to His humanity, but His anger had the proper motivation, and did not sin because of it,which concerning the temple,He made a scourge of small cords,I do not believe it was to hit people, but to drive the animals out the house of God,for the temple of God was not to be used as a place for buying merchandise, but a house of prayer.
