Believing in His promises that, this life is only temporary even if one lives 100 years. Thats a short time compared to eternity. God will not let more come on us than we can handle.

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.2Corinthians 1:20
[ The Heavenly Hope ] These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Hebrews 11:13
who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Hebrews 11:33

This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. John 6:39

Thanks madebyhim!

This reminds me to keep my eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. And whatever comes our way, we can trust that our precious Lord in right there with us to help carry the burden of the day. Sometimes I forget that I'm yoked with Jesus and He's carrying load right along with me.

It's good to be reminded of Hebrews 11. The great cloud of witness that have gone before us. Many experienced much suffering in their lives because of their faith. And God helped them to remain faithful under extreme pain and suffering.

Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection; and others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment.

They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (men of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground.

And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect. Hebrews 11:35-39

Spurgeon spoke of this subject today. And to be clear, Charles Spurgeon had chronic depression, so walked the walk, while talking the talk:

Evening

“Man ... is of few days, and full of trouble.”
Job_14:1

It may be of great service to us, before we fall asleep, to remember this mournful fact, for it may lead us to set loose by earthly things. There is nothing very pleasant in the recollection that we are not above the shafts of adversity, but it may humble us and prevent our boasting like the Psalmist in our morning’s portion. “My mountain standeth firm: I shall never be moved.” It may stay us from taking too deep root in this soil from which we are so soon to be transplanted into the heavenly garden. Let us recollect the frail tenure upon which we hold our temporal mercies. If we would remember that all the trees of earth are marked for the woodman’s axe, we should not be so ready to build our nests in them. We should love, but we should love with the love which expects death, and which reckons upon separations. Our dear relations are but loaned to us, and the hour when we must return them to the lender’s hand may be even at the door. The like is certainly true of our worldly goods. Do not riches take to themselves wings and fly away? Our health is equally precarious. Frail flowers of the field, we must not reckon upon blooming for ever. There is a time appointed for weakness and sickness, when we shall have to glorify God by suffering, and not by earnest activity. There is no single point in which we can hope to escape from the sharp arrows of affliction; out of our few days there is not one secure from sorrow. Man’s life is a cask full of bitter wine; he who looks for joy in it had better seek for honey in an ocean of brine. Beloved reader, set not your affections upon things of earth: but seek those things which are above, for here the moth devoureth, and the thief breaketh through, but there all joys are perpetual and eternal. The path of trouble is the way home. Lord, make this thought a pillow for many a weary head!

I use a prayer shawl. It is not the physical shawl that repairs my soul and body, it is God but all my shawl symbolizes brings God close.

The shawl itself is of wool so natural it seems close to how God created the wool. It has the fringes and tassels that the Lord speaks of. What is important is that I sit in a kitchen chair at attention and drape it over my head with prayer. It closes out the world around me, only the Lord is near and He fills my very being. I listen and let His healing presence and His word take over my mind and body.

Please note I am a healthy, active 91 years old.
Yes,yes,yes,a million yeses'

All life, virtue, energy, anointing, power, and purity of being, comes from God.

Blessed be his holy name and the FACT that we are/ were healed from the " serpent" on the cross Jesus, who took all disease and infirmity on Him,that we might walk in 100% Devine health.

As verified in blood by Peter in the new covenant, and also Moses in PS 91

Reading through this thread makes my resolve even greater to pursue the breaker anointing.

Sickness, infirmity, paralysis, injuries and amputees need to be dealt with.

Jesus showed us how. Who can wield that sword?

Someone has got to take it up.

It like everyone is saying that there is no way out, when in the distance, through the fog, there is a hole in the wall big enough to drive a truck through.

Just hearing this is enough to invoke endless attacking pulled down on my head.

You guys got a trouble shooting problem.

You cannot properly attack the problem untill you understand the problem.

If there is no such thing as authority then all we can do is treat mat 18:18,19 as abstract. Then comfort the deer in the barbed wire ,never to use the wire cutters the rancher put in our back pocket.

Popeye, I know you mean well and thanks for that. However, not everyone is healed. As an example, Paul told Timothy to drink a little wine instead of water for his stomach problems and his frequent illnesses.

He didn't tell him to storm the gates of hell, He didn't tell Him to keep claiming a healing until you're well. Paul and Timothy were very Godly, faithful men.

If anyone knew the Lord intimately, they did. Paul prayed about the thorn in the flesh and God told him He wouldn't take it away. The answer was no, but God told him that His grace each day would be sufficient.

When Paul went to Galatia, he preached to them with serious eye problems. There is no mention of them praying for him. There's no mention of him being healed. Instead we hear that the Galatians would have taken out their own eyes and given them to Paul if that was possible.

I believe God heals and I believe that we should seek Him for healing. But I don't believe as you do that healing is for everyone and it's not a part of the atonement.

The very ones who claim this are sick themselves. They can't even use their own health as an example of healing in the atonement. They wear eyeglasses, they have allergies, they have thyroid issues or heart problems. The list could go on, but that's enough to show what you're teaching is false.

If it was in the atonement, we would pray and be immediately healed like when we pray for forgiveness we're immediately forgiven.

I have been a part of the charismatic movement for much of my walk with the Lord. I did all the things they tell you to do. Thirty some years later I still have FM and other issues as well. God can heal me. I believed with all of my heart he did.

What he did do and does do is constantly heal the heart. The depression, the agony, the feeling all alone, the battle with those who mean well, but add to the emotional pain.

As I look back and see how far I've come, God has used these things in my life to prune me, to transform me, to shape and mold me more and more into His likeness.

Yes, He receives Glory for the great and mighty work that He does within the believer healed or not healed. What a wonder He truly is. My eyes see more and more of His wonder when I need Him.

Thanks Lynn for the devotional. :) What a great man of God!

for us:

ROMANS 8:35-39.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

if we bear all persecutions, no matter how great or small, this will bring us unto
a crowning achievement, for we go 'from Faith to Faith'...

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
