No one, but similar....

Stephen...Lay not this sin to their charge........

Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" Having said this, he fell asleep.

I didn't say anything about more. But he was pretty damn merciful in that he was beaten tortured and died on the cross. It's pretty easy to be less merciful than that. Don't you think? looks at it like this...the bar for mercy is high but a little bit still counts.

Even if such people attained a sinless walk, their judging of others would implicate them before God as being prideful. Which would then counteract their sinless position.
True but I don't get why they don't see it.
Given that we are all born of the spirit.

When is a hypocrite not a hypocrite? When he is not hypocritical.

If you hold to any standards, judge others by them and then fail yourself,
that is hypocracy. We all need to be very humble or it is simple to fall into.

A mentally/spiritually healthy person holds themselves to a higher standard than they hold others.

Many I have spoken to here who hold positions, actually are little different from
everyone else. But once a position is taken, and lines drawn assumptions are made.

I would like to know why people feel with Christ reigning on the throne of their lives
with themselves, why sin has such a hold on them, the idea of walking in love is just
so alien, they have to condemn themselves and everything they do every day.

Maybe I am too simple or innocent, or things do not hold me that deeply, but what
is so hard that the indwelling Holy Spirit cannot help one through?

Or is it there are too many unresolved issues, and God is not allowed in to that room
or area, and this is too sacred to touch or talk about? My experience is this is the only
thing that stops the Lord, and is a stand off. And the biggest draw to this deception is
money and security. God is just a part time hobby, there are always other things that
can take up ones time. When your life and your future are on the line, it sure wakes you
up, lol. If tomorrow you could die, or get killed by some nutty terrorist, does that bother
you? Is your nice house, care, family, pension, enough to get by, so what the heck, nothing
can really go south...

PS. 35:16.
With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
I found your post funny, I wasn't really mocking you. You wanting to ban me for what I am expressing is like a man placing tape upon a preacher's mouth, withholding the truth from others. Maybe its in your best interest to reevaluate your position, and not jump to conclusions? :)

True, you said whoever displays less, the point being, that is ALL of us :D

ya...it was sort of a paradoxical statement. In that it meant that it pretty easy to have a little mercy in comparison to the mercy shown to us.

It seems you miss the point of the thread entirely and go off on some tangent about what YOU think everybody is saying or feeling......shakes head at your inability to actually understand what is being said........!

A mentally/spiritually healthy person holds themselves to a higher standard than they hold others.
I have given up holding standards against people. I have met so really strange people, who have
totally messed up lives, so who am I to make sense of it. I try and make sense of my interactions
and help and encourage others, which not getting too directive, unless it is obviously dangerous or
wrong. Now I assume most here are much more gifted than I am, and have knowledge of things
I have only just guessed at.

I do though respond to things that seem to contradict the Lord and His teaching.
Is it possible to go to hell because of this kind of faith in Christ?
Are we not kept by His word and the Holy Spirit?

And I am still wondering what terrible evils I have done. It does bother me that
some brothers feel such animosity and antagonism, but it is just the word of the Lord
that stands between us. How can this be?

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Heb 4:12

Now if you believe God does not do this, just the enemy, and then you meet
someone using the word of God, very perplexing. Now for me I would rejoice,
with great joy, because if God speaks to me, what a privilege.

Do people understand the idea of a rebuke from the Lord?

My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.
Heb 12:4-6

Now if you want to rebuke me, amen.
The word of the Lord is a blessing to those who listen to Him.

I don't always find it easy at all :(

That is part of how I know, when I do, it is Jesus working through me :)

Oh oh, the sinless perfectionists will be after me now

The thing I find odd about those people is the fact that they acknowledge Jesus makes it possible for them to overcome but then they turn around and act like they do it of their own strength... and therefore so should we. It is perplexing that they cannot see their error, as if Jesus would fail others.

one side pushes the notion that God changes his mind about them base on their performance. The other side is telling the truth in that God does not change his mind based on performance but keeps you and loves you because he loves your heart and is making it brand new.

The gospel is so simple a simpleton like me can understand it! How beautiful that an all powerful God comes to my level to save me.

lol - I do not expect anything else from you - you have made it very plain.

But I wonder what you think you achieve? God bless you, God truly loves you
and died to set you and I free.

Each day I thank the Lord for a new day to bring praise to His name, to uplift
the forgiveness through the cross and glory in though I was born a sinner he
has made us all who trust in Him, children of the Living God, Amen.

Exactly why the bible teaches to not be removed from the simplicity that is found in Christ.......

Sirk - words are such strange things. Each one expresses their words in their own way.

Two women in my life. One believes in self expression and creativity.
The other is formality and conforming to accepted social conventions.

I love them both but their life language is very different.
So maybe for both groups the Lord meets them where they are and it makes
sense. Emotional language is so much more complex than merely words.

And truth is not just facts, but how these facts speak to peoples lives.

sadly...people have the desire to be powerful over others and they mask it with the false righteousness of whatever their chosen pride is. What men have done for centuries....used religion to rule over people. IT'S ABUSE! Nothing new under the sun.

Do you read what you write...go read post 288....one minute accusing us who believe in grace and the scriptures of this thread to the above in this post....you vacillate more than a neon colored sign in Vegas.......one second blessings......the next accusations and attributing things not implied or stated by no one....like a pendulum on a grandfather clock...back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...........

Peter...like I said....we will never agree...different theologies, ideologies and beliefs.....
