1. Why did Jesus say his followers must hate their families? Surely, when the son of God said "hate" he meant "hate," didn't he? Why would the son of God confuse us by using hyperbole? How could the examples of Luke 9:59-62, even if allegorical, be hyperbole anyway? Jesus clearly called a man to the irresponsible, disrespectful action of leaving his father, implying that he was not even to attend his funeral, and he called another to leave his family without even saying farewell or letting them know he was deserting them.
Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Mat 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Jesus did not mean actually hate your family, but do not put any person above Him in importance, for He is number one in a person's life, and the will of family imposed on a saint, and the love of family, and to take care of their business, should not take precedence over Jesus and His will for our life.
2. Why did Jesus, by his own admission, break the Sabbath law (John 5:16-18)? This puts the lie to the Christian idea that the perfect Jesus fulfilled the whole Law, and therefore was a suitable unblemished sacrifice for our sins.
Jesus said that man was not made for the sabbath, but the sabbath was made for man,for it is people that are important above the sabbath day,and because of that the sabbath can be changed to accommodate man,or taken out of the way as we do not have to observe the physical sabbath at all in the New Testament, which it was changed to spiritual by the Spirit, but the main thing is He is Lord of the sabbath, and is God manifest in the flesh, and God works everyday for the good of people, and does not take a day off,and also Jesus said,is it not good to do good on the sabbath, and illustrated the point that on the sabbath day,if one sees someone's animal in a hole, will he not help him with the animal, and in such a case it is not breaking the sabbath.
Jesus is Lord of the sabbath, and God works everyday, but as a man He was not breaking the sabbath, because He was going around helping people, healing them, preaching the Gospel, feeding the poor, doing good for people on the sabbath, which the sabbath day was so people could rest from their own labors of a work environment, catering to their self and family,to put food on the table, and clothes on their back, and for their own personal gain,or own pleasure, but a person is not breaking the sabbath if it is for the concern of other people and their needs, which is what Jesus did,not for Himself, but for others, for to do good for people that had need, and why He pointed out if an animal falls in a hole on the sabbath, will you not help the person pull the animal out,for then to do good on the sabbath,is not breaking the sabbath, but cease from your own labors, that are your concern.
Also Jesus posed a question when they said He broke the sabbath, that the law of Moses says that a male child has to be circumcised on the 8th day,but what if it falls on the sabbath, which they will circumcise a male child even though it falls on the sabbath, and have labored on the sabbath day,but then say Jesus broke the sabbath when He healed a person.
Joh 7:23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?
To do good on the sabbath is not breaking the sabbath, for the first greatest commandment is love God,and the second greatest commandment is love people, which takes priority over the commandment of the physical sabbath day,for man was not made for the sabbath, but the sabbath was made for man,so it is people that are important above the sabbath day,and there is no rest from helping people in need on the sabbath day, which is what Jesus did.
3. Why did Jesus say the ruler's daughter was not dead? (Matt 9:18-25; Luke 8:41-56) Either Jesus lied, or he performed no miracle, but the context clearly shows that it was understood to be a miracle.[/QUOTE]
I believe the child was dead, for He performed a miracle and brought her back to life, but Jesus is God,and His way of saying she is sleeping is the way it was for Him,because He can bring her to life, like Lazarus who was dead for 4 days, and He brought Him to life, and also all people that were in the truth before Jesus were all sleeping,or if not in the truth, for the dead know not anything at that time, but they are not truly dead, but all people will be raised one day, whether with God or not with Him.
To people a person may be dead, but to God nobody is dead, and nobody is truly dead, for all will be raised, but Jesus decided to put life back in her flesh, and has the power to do so,so to people she is dead, but to Jesus she is only sleeping, for He has the power to put life back in her,and wake her up.
Joh 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Joh 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Joh 11:13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Joh 11:14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
Also Jesus said Lazarus was sleeping, and would awake him out of sleep, and said Lazarus is dead,so Jesus saying they sleep is the same as Him saying, they are dead, but He said that to the people, for to them Lazarus is dead, but to Jesus he is sleeping, for He said I will wake him out of sleep, for He has the power to put life back in them, which God made Adam and Eve from the dust of the earth, surely Jesus can give life back to a dead body, and repair that body in the process, especially in the case of Lazarus who was dead for 4 days.
