Can you show me a verse where it says "demand" that someone turn the other cheek? In my bible, it says "ask", not "demand"..

According to scripture its always better to demand things....for example....when you slap someone upside the face you should demand that they turn the other cheek so you can smack them on that one too. Cuz the bible does say that people are supposed to turn the other cheek....so they have every right to demand people do so.

1 Sam 2:2

The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them.

Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

Nice scripture quotes Peter! Here is are a few more......

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Every single day I come to this thread and find the sinless perfectionists doing something contradictory to scripture. While I don't condemn people for being human in general...it is entertaining to point it out in the ones who claim it. I wonder if Jesus enjoyed exposing hypocrites? Part of me thinks He did and the other part of me thinks it made him sad because He didn't have any personal pride like I do. Maybe I should be sad that these hypocrites pile on people who simply accept Jesus' mercy like children? Maybe I need a heart check on that?

These are great scriptures. But if we know someones theology and how they view/use scriptures. And they post them, they may read a little different......

IMO, we are nicer to them than Jesus was.

All I know is, there are professing Christians in this thread who are standing on some pretty dangerous ground. The one recurring theme in virtually all of their posts is their fingers pointing at someone else and I've yet to see even a smidgeon of humility from any of them..,.but instead, they put themselves above. They all need to take an anger management class and learn what abuse is and what it looks like. They clothe themselves in light but their spirits stink to high heaven.

Unfortunately this is not christian behaviour, to any degree.
Please tell me how the roman soldiers when they put the crown of thorns on
Christs head and bowed in mockery of Him were any different to your behaviour.

The enemy will always encourage you to get more and more blasphemous in your
behaviour as your anger and bitterness grows. How you ended up in this sorry
state I can only imagine, but it brings no praise to our King and Lord.

My issue is the rejection of the simple truth....we have numerous verses that prove the point that the OP makes.....yet rejected by those who claim Jesus.....and then they accuse us of promoting sin and lifestyles of unbridled sin....and then accuse me of insulting their religion.....

This op is simple....The saved will occasionally fail and sin...end of story....there was only one who was without sin...JESUS

This does not promote willful sin, nor does it promote a lifestyle of sin, but rather a proper perspective of who we are in Christ.

Hw hard is that to understand....the simplicity of Christ gets rejected, stomped and denied regularly by supposed believers on an ever increasing number of issues....

So now you are saying wasblind is mockingly bowing to Jesus? Is that what you're accusing him of?

None of this is to do with God, it is pride, and self justification. You are saying,
"I am right because I am doing this. How dare you suggest I have any issues
with purity."

I say, talk to God, because clearly you do. And whatever is driving this, sin is at
the root. I commend your good work with dementia patients, I know their
real need and the love that helps uplift them through this time of struggle.

I also give comfort to people in this situation, but this is not point scoring,
or saying I know more than you. This is about who God is, and has always
been.
That's the smartest thing you may have ever said, and yet, once again, you missed the entire point of my post. I didn't post that to show I'm trying to score points and earn my salvation, I wrote it because you believe a few of us here don't have faith in Christ, which shows how utterly ignorant and self righteous you are; so much so that its astonishing.

You say you are right and then you say this isn't about point scoring. You contradict yourself. This is so much about you it stinks to high heaven.
Spot on accurate, there, bro. As usual.

Remember the Pharisee.....I thank "GAWD" I am not like that low life sinner over there.....<----this speaks volumes concerning those who lift themselves up in their own conceited righteousness....and then they began to boast of ALL THAT THEY DO for GOD.......boasting of their works or righteousness......
Amen. bro. And please don't think I listed my works to show my "righteousness" in response to peter. In fact, I know you know that, but I'm just putting it out there for those who don't know me and might mistake my post for self righteousness.

Amen. We are sinners saved by grace, so now that we are redeemed let us now
walk in righteousness, purity and love, empowered by the Holy Spirit and His love.

Or is this not what you are saying? Are we sinners saved by grace only in name
and not reality, and as persistent sinners we have only grace and forgiveness to
count us as worthy, because though Christ walked in Gods will we cannot.

Unfortunately those who do not walk in Gods will are under judgement.

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Matt 7:21

I hold that Christ is saying He will make His will fulfilled in our lives.
But you need to open your hearts to let this start to become a reality.

Are you that dense....serious....HOW many times do WE ALL have to post that we DO serve, we DO love the truth, we DO walk according to the word, we DO attempt to walk HOLY........and the WILL OF THE FATHER IS TO BELIEVE ON JESUS...IT IS NOT BASED ON OUR WORKS DUDE!

YET WE ALL FAIL AND SIN JUST LIKE THE MEN OF THE BIBLE<--CAN YOU SEE THIS AND READ THIS!
