Right?!?! What's to chase when you've caught what you're chasing? People who think they've caught God have nothing to chase but their tails.
I hear that......they like to put God in this little box with a bow tie.......man his ways are so much higher than our ways and his thoughts above our thoughts.......

[SUP]12 [/SUP]And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12

[SUP]7 [/SUP]He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:7-8

[SUP]10 [/SUP]And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Revelation 22:10-16

Striving to not sin is your personal holiness. It is born out of gratitude and a desire to serve the one that saved you. And he loves even your feeble attempts at emulating His perfection.

Then we have this verse, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Seems better telling one do best not to sin encouraging them. Telling them its ok every body does it, isn't good. Makes me think of when i did something stupid as a kid, and said well so and so did it, my mom would say if so and so jumped off bridge would you do it?

Strive to not sin, yes. But to attain sinless perfection and keep it? Impossible. And God knows that. He knows we will strive and fail. But as long as we strive, THAT'S what He wants of us. :) The bible states that we all have sinned, and fallen short of God's glory. To me, that means we will NEVER attain sinless perfection in THIS lifetime..

AGAIN this falls back to people attributing to us that we are promoting a lifestyle of sin because we acknowledge the verses that show that we are not perfect in the flesh....and that we occasionally fail........this does not mean that we do not make a reasonable attempt to serve faithfully!

If you are claiming to be pure you should be able to prove it. There should be eyewitness testimony to your purity. Put up or shut up man. All of your past transgression against people should be amended. There should be no pride or ego in anything you do. You must walk in complete and total selfless sacrifice 24/7/365. Impossible in this life for a man to achieve it. There can be no defects at all in your character. You're a big talker. Seen many of your "spiritual" doppelgängers up close and personal. I don't believe you. I think you are a liar. And a prideful egotistical liar at that.
Purity is not about self sacrifice. That is about love.

Now in the end of this, what is your response to Gods call to purity. "I think you are a liar."

Do you know the point I am making? Obviously what you are saying is only those who are
pure can say God calls us to be pure. Can you know whether you are something that you
lack something that you do not have, impurity? I think maybe you know the issues do not
arise. Now it would not be helpful for me to list all the impurities I could have and then say
how and why I am not impure like this.

So the question I ask is not where anyone is along this path but whether God is calling us
to walk this path. I think the answer is becoming clear. God is being sarcastic, and saying
be pure as a joke on failure. But this interpretation only works if nobody ever walks in purity.

Let us take the list Jesus gives us as lusts of the flesh.

"Evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person."
Mark 7:21-22

Let me ask in all honesty, is it so hard to avoid these things when you know the
cross and Christ? Are we saying everyone who is saying they are not pure are
inescapably locked into these evil thoughts, with no hope of stopping?

Now that is shocking, because to me, these are not impossible boundaries or even
stunning revelations.

But here is Sirk saying I need witnesses to say I am not any of these things.
This speaks more about the failure within and lack of seeing what we are as people
and children of God than anything else.

Paul was simple about his descriptions. Avoid these things. This is 101 discipleship,
it is something you learn day 1. Who have you been following and what is in your heart?

And what is evil thought? That we can walk in purity. This is the opposite of evil, it is
the fulfillment of the cross.

The next evolution becomes defining what sin is....like eating meat or not eating meat. Their doctrine is flawed to its core and is nothing but a slippery slope into man made religion and rules.

PAUL encourage us to ALL be open to learning and instruction...and if you can prove my error I will gladly change, but when you reject verbiage, verb tense and the very definition of words I cannot even seriously ponder what you say bro.....

I hear that.....it amazes me....Jesus said it best...if another man comes in his own name they will receive him......verbiage, verb tense, definitions, context....gets shot down in favor of error all the day long.....in favor of religion and man made doctrines....

What is sad is believers tearing apart other believers not about sin, but about
walking in love, and whether this is possible.

It is like a bunch of agnostics debating the theory of not being an alcoholic.
Everyone is an addict so no one can kick the habit, and anyone who believes they
can or have is a liar, because we know so.

Getting into life, eternal life is about walking in faith and believing Christ. If people
cannot even believe Christ about their own behaviour and the possibility He can change
them, how on earth is Christ going to give them resurrection. People in this state would
rather stay in the world and be counted as sinners than walk as saints.

It is all masked with the fear of death and ultimate judgement, so they dare not face that
without the get out of jail free card, "I had faith", look at all the prophecies I gave...
