Magenta recommended this one highly. She has excellent taste. I saw the Gary Cooper film, but I know the book must be much different.
Thank you, Galatea, that is high praise coming from youMagenta recommended this one highly. She has excellent taste. I saw the Gary Cooper film, but I know the book must be much different.
... I would have made them happier if I had dared to say that I have some Catholic friends.
I not only have Catholic friends and family but was raised Roman Catholic,I dare to say I have Catholic family members, so I trump your Catholic friends.
That's too bad. Without an understanding of the Forward and of the After Words, you do miss some of the most important aspects of the book. In this case, they both are truly integral parts of the story.Thank you, Galatea, that is high praise coming from you![]()
I have not finished chapter four of 1984. I'm falling behind
I also did try listening to the audio version of the shack but could not get into it. It did not help that the narrator was a guy and started with the forward, and so I had no idea when the first chapter started or if I even got that far haha. I did listen for quite a few minutes, and then skipped forward a few times... audio version may simply not be my cup of tea. I have never done it before, either.
Audio book is a format I had never really tried before, unless you count listening to Scriptures that way... which I don'tThat's too bad. I like being read to, it is very soothing but will put me to sleepMe too. I only posted that Audio Book because I know some people will rarely even open an actual bound book, and prefer being read to.
