Amen to that.....

And shall come forth; they that have done good, to the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, to the resurrection of damnation.
Thank you, DCon, I did give him that Scripture, but sadly JIMBO refuses to acknowledge the truth of it.

Drawing Near to God
7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

Draw near you sinners <<<<<even me>>>>>>.......

You can do it by praying communion,,,, hope...

Context of this scripture is if youve revcieved salvation why are we instructed to draw near...
surely you cant get any nearer than being saved ?......

Oh wait a minute the answer will be this is talking to the unsaved only ?

what are you saying that your sin daily is not like them who sin daily.. ? wouldnt that be an excuse ?...

I have said zero about that. Changing the subject or running your mouth on some unrelated topic will not help you. Just admit you were wrong, since all are resurrected and yet not all are saved. Therefore, the resurrection does NOT equal salvation. You seem to have a great deal of difficulty acknowledging that.
youve really lost me sorry cause some who get resuurected will not recieve salvation....

That is what I have been saying all along and you have been disagreeing with, pretending that the resurrection was salvation. You are very confused or dishonest. Maybe both.

NO...two resurrections....

One of the saved<--1st
One of the lost<--2nd

Blessed is he that hath part in the first resurrection upon who the 2nd (death) hath no power........

What is mildly amusing to me is the use of the word nonsense.

Non - without, sense - sense

Now if someone was obviously saying something that did not make any sense
this would be fine, but actually it is just a way of putting someone down and
being rude. Both points of view often expressed make sense in their context,
so saying nonsense is not appropriate. Or even evil, demon inspired etc.
Most things that are demon inspired are seriously sick and distorted, and it
is very obvious.

What is less hard to spot is hard hearted attitudes or just stubboness.
People can appear very nice and civil and then on certain issues just incapable
of seeing another perspective. And sometimes they will claim there is only one
legitimate view, when this is clearly not the case.

This is when the terms come in which describe this uncooperative behaviour
and frustration maybe appropriate. But then again, if it is just a wind up and
people being intentionally biased it is time to walk away.

No, their resurrection will bring about the completion of their salvation, but it began with their being chosen. called and justified.

Salvation is the whole process from beginning to end. The resurrection is only a part, albeit an important part, of that whole process, for those who are saved.

Works? Jesus said, Let your shine before men, that they me see your good works, Matthew 5.16.
In Matthew 5 Jesus said those followers who assisted, helped other followers had done good, for in serving other followers, it was as unto the Lord, Matthew 25.40.
So if I love God and show that love to other believers by helping them in their struggles, in their sorrows, with their needs - are those bad works? They won't save me. But does that mean they are bad?

2 Timothy 3.17 tells us the scriptures furnish us unto every good work.
Showing love in the name of Jesus to others is not bad, those acts of love are not bad, they are not something to be discarded.

I read where someone said our works are filthy rags. I just don't understand how that is.
Knowing me, I probably goofed up somewhere.

I was just about to reference 1 Corinthians 13. Then I remembered what Paul said in verses 1-3. That explains it. Our works are of no profit if not done out of love. Their true worth, they are good, because they are an expression of our love for God and others.

The widows two mites had far less monetary value than those who gave much more. The value wasn't in the currency, the value - the good - was from the heart.

So I answered my own question.
Thank you.
Amen brother we cannot boast of our own works but of the good works that are done in us by God to produce good fruit.

Give God all the glory

Do everything to honor God

Do everything in love

Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

God judges the hearts of men and not the actions.

In today's way everyone will die and stand before God to be judged. We don't know if that will be right then or when Christ returns. But what we do know everyone will die and has a soul that will face judgement. Many will perish and few will be saved.

My struggle with the Spirit and self. When tornados left it's destruction in Albany GA I felt a great need to act and had the opportunity to do so.

The whole night before I was tired and kept trying to talk myself out of helping. The next morning I had successfully ignored the Spirit and slept in.

And so a few weeks later I had another opportunity. The same struggle but I chose to honor God instead of pleasing myself.

This is the real struggle of Christians between our fallen human nature and the Spirit that lives within.

God doesn't twist your arm into submission, no it's up to us to train ourselves in all things righteous

There are two perspectives on our works

The first is our attempts at helping people without the Lord.
Then there is love of Jesus working through us to touch people in the Lord.

That is real love, the power of God at work, His body being Christ on earth.
Some people think they are mortal beings who are failed and feeble.

But God anoints us, takes us, remakes us, heals us, renews and cleanses us
so these people go the works of Jesus here and now.

Too many talk as if God does not work, or in God we do not have the victory.
In Gods time at the right time, He declares and moves, He anoints and raises
up His people to declare His Kingdom.

We are mere servants to our Lord and so we must obey and do His will.
It is strange how people declare so loudly they know the King yet are deaf
to His words, who in their own understanding fail to comprehend yet are certain
Gods word is wrong, and His intentions have been distorted and changed.

Woe to those who declared such things, woe to those who claimed they could
see and would overthrow the very Kingdom of the Most High.

Acts 21:10-14New International Version (NIV)

10 After we had been there a number of days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11 Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”

12 When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14 When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”

A true follower of Jesus. Hero of the faith. I believe if Paul had a song it would be this one

SIDEWALK PROPHETS LYRICS
"To Live Is Christ"

If I rise, let me rise on you
Not on all of my successes, my esteem or my pursuits
If I lose, let me lose my life
Cause if I belong to Jesus, the flesh is crucified

For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ, to die is gain

If I grow, let me grow in You
Wilt the seeds of wanting more
Rippin' pride out by the roots
And if I'm still, let me hear You speak
Not the tone of my transgressions,
But the song of the Redeemed

For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ, to die is gain

For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ, to die is gain

My great desire is to be with You
But this is the place you chose for me
This is the place you chose for me
To lift my cross and give everything
This is the time you gave to me
This is the time you gave to me

For me to live is Christ, For me to live is Christ
For me to live is Christ, to die is gain
I'll never be the same, I'll never be the same
For me to live is Christ, to die is gain
