Actually, if you read the entire passage in context, I think it's really talking about being healed from sin. It's about salvation, spiritual death, nothing to do with illnesses or physical pain, although Jesus did heal people with infirmities in the gospels.

It is talking about both. You want healing but criticize a bible verse given to you?
Do you mind if I give you proof that the verse is speaking of physical healing (53:4 that is, not five)? Absolute proof, no doubt. Ready?
Isaiah 53:4-5 King James Version (KJV)
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Now look at this verse being quoted in the NT in Matthew and the subject matter is about physical healing.
Matthew 8:16-17 King James Version (KJV)
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
How wonderful is that!?
Didn't mean to sound critical. I was only trying to state something I thought was true.
I have no doubt in my mind that God still heals. I know He does, but sometimes it seems like He says "no" to our petitions. In 2 Corinthians 12:8-9, Paul was experiencing a thorn in his flesh, he never specified what it was, but when he asked the Lord 3 times to remove it from him, God told him that His grace was sufficient for him. Which Paul boasted in Him because God's power was perfected in his weaknesses. Which led me to believe that God doesn't always answer positively to our requests. I definitely could be wrong about this since I'm prone to error as we all are. Thank you for clarifying in your post
