I have a question for Ricky. Ricky you came here and said....pot meet kettle. I'm assuming based on that comment that you didn't think I included myself in the OP. In other words....it didn't feel like you were very generous with me as far what my intentions were.

You being a guy who talks a lot about generosity with money......what about generosity with attitudes and thinking and willing the best for someone else? Do you think it's a thing or not?

Father, we are so broken and wounded by the slings and arrows that have caught us in the cross fire of Satan's designs on our souls. Please bring greater peace among your children here, that we may have greater fellowship and deeper understanding and forgiveness of each other when misunderstandings occur. May we not be so quick to condemn, learning better when to speak and when to remain silent, and reminding us always have a heart for the other, in Jesus name we pray, amen.

You are quite understandable :) There are some who are very difficult to understand :(
They say practice makes perfict, and I have been trying to do just that.
I have nothing better to do then search out the kingdom of Heaven all-day.

I never learned to type in school, worked outdoors hard all my life.
I tried mavis beacon to teach myself, but now my hands and fingers not let me.
So now I type one fingered on one hand, plunking one key at a time on keyboard.

Spelling and grammer, never been a good student, but copying and pasting with the
mouse is a very good strenght, but still using the mouse with the same hand as k.b.
My strenght is not typing to others about feelings, my guess I have never done this here.
took me this hour long to just reply to this post. never really ever do [private ] messages

Been practing and getting faster, one reason I was posting heavely on one thread:
was to pratice because that thread was lost before I even got there.

like it would take sometimes an hour for me to find facts, then present in a decent reply,
just for a two -sec snide remark by someone who says I just made it up, and he proved
this otherwises allready. Maybe I had a bigger message to say and was not just to him.
There is mass people that come here an observe and read without even commenting.

Well.......not that this excuses anything, but did not Jesus, Paul and other men of the bible rake "hairy tics" over the coals.....no one ever wants to admit error...it is a humbling experience to state publically....Hey, I am wrong and you are right.....and without a doubt the following statement will catch heat....

THERE is only ONE truth concerning anything and everything to be found in the bible....and when we are honest with the truth we will all come to the same conclusions concerning the truth......

A hard pill to swallow for sure....

Having said that....the truth must be defended....maybe more tact and to be honest..at times it seems best to just quote verses without commentary......let the bible speak for itself because---> for sure God has the last say....

AMEN????
I think we are still waiting then for everyone to come to the same conclusions of scripture because after two centuries and the crusades and all the deaths in the reformation under our belt, it still hasn't happened. But I think it's good to search for what the problem is.

I am often very encouraged by your posts, and can see that you put much time and effort into amassing all the facts and figures you do. I did not realize that it took you so long, but I appreciate your efforts. I can relate to the one finger typing, because I use one finger from each hand to type, and yes, over the years, my speed has improved somewhat :)

I believe me and everyone everyday can learn from Christ. We do away with bits of our old self as life goes on. When where young we have the fire and energy to do God's will and as we grow we learn how to direct that fire and energy inward and grow in maturity. It's never easy to take insulting but we do to stand for truth and we if we fall or die we only lose our earthly home but gain an amazing place that has been prepared in the heavenly relm. So many discoveries has been made throughout the bible from people disagreeing. If people who was burned for translated the bible in English or print didn't stand then who knows what today would look like. If Martin Luther didn't pin his opinions on the church door. We would be living in church corruption. Many times God works in people that are underdogs. We don't know the plans of God and what the Spirit is doing in our fellow brother or sister, but what we do know is to trust God alone. God could be leading them to enlightenment or to preach what was laid apon that persons heart. We have to remember our churchs are under great pressure to conform to the likes of society. As we saw in the election here in America. The secularist are violent and ready to call us bigots and racists. We have to really learn what judging is compared to preaching truth in patience, gentleness, love, kindness, and discernment. Being a Christian was never meant to be popular.

The Word of God is always teaching and building spun its foundation Jesus. Respect is always hard to give when respect isn't portrayed in the other person. But as we try to live in love, love will defeat all things. No one is perfect and we live and learn until life ceases to remain in our bones. We shall remember to love the Lord our God with all your heart, soul, and mind. And love your neighbor as yourself. Even the older man that thinks its oKay to mow his yard in speedos.

All in all we are flawed from birth and this flaw is always evident but in Christ Jesus our flaws will only get less evident as we mature and grow in Christ. Thank God I am not the man I use to be. I would probably would of or would be in jail.

Amen!
Teach us to bear offenses as You did, Lord, so we will be pleasing to the Father as You were.

He was led as a lamb to slaughter and did not open His mouth, but the slightest barb will cause us to begin shrieking as if nails were pounded into our hands.

Not necessarily. Some flip their gourd when their beliefs aren't shared by others. Then words like heretic, blasphemer, and demon-possessed witch get flung around..
And to think I thought we were done with those demonic shape-shifters...

There are lot's of self-proclaimed heretic hunters on the internet and at CC there is no shortage of theses types. To them everyone is a heretic - if you disagree with what they believe about a subject.

There are websites dedicated to the heretic Billy Graham, Billy Sunday, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Stanley, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, John McArthur, Paul Washer, Joseph Prince, Dr. Michael Brown, Justin Peters, Bill Johnson, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Andrew Wommack...etc..basically anyone who is known has a website dedicated to their "heresies".

There are even websites dedicated to the heretic apostle Paul because his epistles "conflict" with some of Jesus' words.

Basically these self-proclaimed heretic hunters have a beef about some thing with what someone else believes and so they are now "heretics".

Their motto is: "If people don't believe some scriptures in the way that "they"do - they are heretics and they try to prove it with "their" version of what the scriptures say.."
This is not what we were taught in "my" church or in our whole church tradition.

It's the nature of the beast. Martin Luther was a heretic to the catholic church at the time because for 1100 years prior to Luther they had always "believed" the same way.

Where these types cross the line is when they turn a disagreement that they have with someone doctrinally on a secondary issue and turn it into "So and so is a false teacher and they are in error and a heretic/satanist/controlled by a demon" type stuff.
I had missed this post on my first read thru of the thread, I have no idea how. It is a very good post!

In the BDF i mean. People calling each other liars and heretics? Where people seem to be more concerned with everybody else's salvation? As if they're "on a mission from God" to put someone in their place. Is that what the Christian walk means to people? An outward circumstance in relation to ourselves? Seems like so much of the world even acts that way. They just use a different language.
Only a heretic would make these kinds of accusations.

And it sounds like a lie to me.

Unfortunately, it does seem like it's always like that here. It's terrible. As a Christian chat room, we should look different than other chat rooms, but some chat rooms and/or communities I've seen talk about horrible, sinful things, and yet they manage to be much less judgmental and cruel to one another than a lot of members on here.

Same ole, same ole. It's always other people!
If a discussion devolves, I always go back to search for where it went wrong and I ask God, what am I doing that is perpetuating this? He usually takes me back to where someone insulted me and I didn't forgive and let it slide but instead let my pride take issue with how they spoke to me. In other words, even if I think I can see it's their fault because they started it, He says the fault was mine for not bearing an offense, immediately forgiving, and moving on. He doesn't truck with "but he started it!!

Getting to know people.

I have been on cc now for two years, which seems a long time.
Different people get different reputations, and some things can be said or spoken
honestly about peoples theology and position.

Now it is always possible to create disputes and put an accusation in general against
another, except if it is not an example on a post, it becomes defamation.

I thought people were above defamation, but when people get angry and feel an individual
is truly evil and deceptive, the justification for this grows in their mind. It justifies to them
to post things not based on fact but their impression.

It is simply wrong to defame people. How much one feels justified, it becomes only a way
of bullying people and using intimidation. As a group we could accept to expose defaming
comments and isolate them and eliminate and ignore people who participate. This would
truly help communication, honesty and integrity.

Saying for instance something is a lie, it has to be shown to be something that is not
a doctrinal position, which is an opinion and not an actual factual falsehood.
Secondly people can be upset by certain doctrinal viewpoints, but it is not an insult
to express them. It is also not slander to suggest the consequences of certain attitudes
mean the opposite way of expressing the same things.

A for instance is I believe it is loving to encourage people in their strengths.
You could say it is loving to not discourage their strengths. Or Jesus said those are not
for Him are against Him.

So if people correctly show the opposite way of expressing a position this is just descriptive
not an insult. A for instance is saying works are not linked to salvation, is saying if you
do no works, has no result in your life, it does not show whether you are saved or not
saved. As soon as you say salvation will always result in works, then they are linked.

Now some find these kind of ways of describing belief and links destructive because it
shows up contradictions in the deeply held belief systems, and to admit this is not neutral.

The feelings of challenge, then trip over into feelings of spiritual attack, which then trip
over into wild defaming statements. It is easy to do this, but it is not honest or Jesus's
way. But you need to be emotionally self aware to begin to see this at work.
