and peterjens refuses to recognize the Biblical definition of sin, which is missing the mark, falling short of a standard, knowing to do good and not doing so. I have pointed this out to him multiple times, but he blows it off.

it is sad, but in-Biblical beliefs like this make what they say invalid , though they both have a zeal for God, which is great, but truth should accompany that zeal.
After reading post #69 here - http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/146196-helmet-hope-salvation-4.html#post2924484 it appears that DiscipleDave believes that he is some kind of prophet who has audible conversations with God.

Passivity and active love

There is always a problem in christian communities for people to live clean lives and
yet not respond to obvious need.

If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
James 4:17

James is saying when you know something you should do as a believer, yet you refuse,
then that rebellion is sin. And to this I say, Amen.

It is always simple to say theory and then deny when challenged in practice.
Yes I will talk to my brother who needs help and support, but hey, wait a minute, it
is just a little too awkward, they might ask me to do something. This is the need
we are called to meet, to take Jesus's love and express it one to another, Amen.

DiscipleDave believes in reincarnation until we attain the righteousness of Christ,
at which point when we die we enter heaven. It is a kind of purgatory of life until
final nivarna that breaks the cycle of constant birth and death. This is definately
not a christian belief. It is his way of resolving the problem of failure and Hell.

That is definitely not a Christian belief indeed! Can you please show me the post(s) where DiscipleDave stated this?

I wonder when youll stop cussing but i doubt you ever will
I had this dude on ignore, because it is not worth my time talking to people who are closed minded, and all they know how to do is attack. Then someone shows me this.

Dude your a hypocrite.. You say we are mockers, and here you just mocked me (I did not even cuss)

I will pray for you..

Obviously I do not know the hearts of the ones who mock or deny discipleship as part of having faith..
You may try to stop listening to what others say about people. and try listen to the people themselves.

I preach discipleship as a means of growth, have been since I have been here.. So the propaganda a certain person who I have on ignore is spreading is just lies.

Sadly, there are so many people here slandering others. it has gotten out of hand

A little red meat:

What if Noah quit building the ark half way thru...or 3/4's thru....or 15/16ths thru? Would it have been sea worthy?
and to add, If he stopped. Did he ever have faith to begin with? or was it psuedo faith? (not really faith at all, just mere belief)

The other aspect is that building the ark was a one time event. Noah didn't remain building an ark for the rest of his life until he died to "prove" he believed God. That's what we call works-righteousness and it is an anti-Christ belief system that in fact denies the work of Christ.

I thought everyone knew this? Thats why I stopped responding to him along time ago..
I just recently discovered this one. So DiscipleDave claims to be a prophet who audibly talks with God and he teaches sinless perfection and salvation by works. :(

Roughsoul didn't say he loved God perfectly. He asked Valiant why we can't love God WHOLLY. And in answer to Rough's question of why not, you replied with "what makes you think you can?" And he replied by saying he loved God. Then you replied with the post below here.. The word "perfect" never came from either one of you.. lol

but we never wholly love God, that is our problem
I did not ask you, that, I asked you how you think you can love God perfectly..

Huge difference.

He has a web site where he expounds on his beliefs.
Reincarnation
Unbelievable! I noticed in his article, he said - Most all religions except for the catholics and Christians, believe in reincarnation. And Jesus never once denied it's existence. Jesus Christ said in:

Mt:16:28: Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

He is the master of Scripture twisting. Thanks for the link!

This offends me. ;) I like on alot of Utah's posts. And I'm NOT one of his so-called, non-existent cronies.. lol.. You say people can see who Utah is? Maybe so, but they also see how you are.. At least Utah can admit that he sins. Can you?

Ha! You know I love you man! If Noah took a vacation and went to the bahamas for 14 days and then the rains came and he didn't get the tar put on in a crucial area, would the ark have stayed afloat? :)
That is not the way that parable is recorded. God appointed it to be 120 years and worked in Noah to both will and do His good pleasure.

He always performs that which he appoints to us. No man will be found with any righteousness of their own.

well it did take him a year,, But still your right.. After the flood. Even though he still sinned (drunk) He was still a man of God when he died,, As shown by God mentioning him in the NT,

I love How God put some sins of the fathers of faith in writing for us to see.. He did it for our sanity, To show that even these great men of God who walked and talked with God in a way we can only imagine, were still sinners..
