What is going on? I can't read all that you've written in the thread. But it seems you are depressed or something. Can you give a list of your ailments, make a bullet list. Then below that make a list of blessings in your life. You just seem to throw away every bit of good word people hand you. What is going on? I would like to help with words, thoughts, suggestions.

It should be helpful, especially since it's true. You need to help yourself and get proactive in bettering your circumstances. Otherwise, you're going to remain catatonic, wondering why.. God can only do so much for you, but you have to pull your share, too.

Hmm, I thought about this a bit today as I was out and about and as I was walking home just now. Makes me think of a particular Preacher. I think he is right and I think his words are applicable to your questions. I will put them below along with some words of my own.

I heard the cardinals sing, and I wondered for what do they sing? For what does the male cardinal in red coat sing for? Does he not sing for the females and they sing back to him? It is for vanity, it has no purpose outside of himself. I saw the squirrels running to and fro and I thought, for what reason does he run to and fro for? He does it for vanity, there is no purpose outside of himself. I saw a multitude of people coming and going in their cars and I wondered for what reason are they in such haste driving up and down the roads and going to their places? It is all for their vanities, there is no purpose outside of themselves. I saw a child, even a little girl child riding her tricycle down the sidewalk and I thought, for what purpose does the girl child ride her tricycle down the street? It is all for vanity, there is no purpose for it outside of herself. I thought to myself, why do I keep walking, why do I do such menial work with my hands, why do I keep thinking, and wading around the shallows and deep ends of wisdom in my mind? It is my vanity, there is no purpose for it outside of myself.

Start thinking about others and helping them would be a good way to apply it to your life.. Start living for God, and nothing you think about or do, will be vain..

Yes I suppose so, but even with their minds towards others, for what reason is their minds turned towards others? Is it not even for themselves, to comfort their own hearts, to reassure themselves, to hope for a reward in heaven or earth for themselves? Lo, even this is vanity! There is no purpose of it outside of themselves.

Ecclesiastes is a good book, you got me reading it now too, or perhaps I got myself reading it, it is vanity, all vanity, but I see in the first few chapters I have read over indeed it pretty well covers this topic and everything everyone has said herein all ready. Nothing is new under the sun.

No,we all get down, and those who have sickness,other issues can become depressed. But we cant stay there. Thats where the devil wants us. Yes,Ive suffered the "poor pitiful mes" too and Gods sends someone along to give me a boot in the pants and says "shake yourself and get out of this"! When I watch how people suffered though the Holocaust,like Corrie Ten Boom I think "well I haven't had to live through that". We had missionaries from Venezuela at our church a few weeks ago,people in that country are starving to death. We haven't had to face that. We have freedom in our countries that some do not have. We must look at the positive. The devil wants to keep you chained down with depression, not to see the positive,not to soar above your circumstances. He's making sure you stay unhappy. I understand that war within! The devil told me the same lies. And yet here I am in a home of my own and happily married.And I say to the devil "ha! you lied and had me depressed and full of fear but God had other plans"!! Ask the Lord,tell Him the desires of your heart and expect Him to do something special in your life and stop letting the old devil keep you down!!

This is a very cynical view.
If Christs love is alive in your heart, you look for people to help and serve.
It is not selfish, but a gift from Christ through you to another.

Every believer can do this, it is our calling.

•nothing changed in 34 years,
•never been treated equally until about 22,
•been to college 4x with ruined journeys.
•couldn't get dr referred for 5years.
•had to give up all exercises/arthritis.
•disconnected rib, ankle ligaments torn, work poisoning, whiplash, broken eye socket, damaged ear from steel toe caps,

•broken toe not healed fully, damaged wrist same, shocks in chest muscles if exercising, grinded shoulder socket, Gilbert's liver syndrome so can't drink anymore, no friends as church people are old/families or children/well off etc, bleed from collapsed or dead capillaries sometimes.

•still living at home, still smoking, still dealing with all issues after "healing" though they haven't, in another hazardous job with no windows, dust, noise, no-security for mortgage, car just blew headgasket last month so new car with unknown warning light issue. I think that's it for now, though being Welsh with an English accent and that rubbish was before 22years etc. Probably more i can't remember until it bothers me again. Generally crud n no future it seems.
