It occurred to me today that we are to be the hands and feet of God, yet most of us here are mostly choosing to be the mouths. If I had to calculate how much time that I've spent on this site sharing my thoughts and opinions, I'm sure it would be too much. From my experience not many people are as interested in hearing as they are speaking. That's fine but it leads me to this conclusion: there is already enough salt in this salt shaker! I'm going to spend the time I would have at the computer to be more active in helping others, and spend more time with my family.

Thank you all for what I have learned over the years. As this may possibly be my final post I will leave this, for what its worth:
Guilt is what separates us from God. The knowledge of good and evil caused us to feel guilt. That is why we are to forgive others, so they don't feel guilt. That is why they sacrificed animals, it appeased guilt. Christ's sacrifice washed away all of our sins so we don't have to feel guilt. It's metaphysical. Don't tell others to feel guilty, that's Satan's job. Don't help him!

What is also metaphysical is love and faith. Love is an energy that can be passed on, when you share love it multiplies. That is what we are supposed to do here, share love. There is no sin when doing things for people out of love. It might be hard sometimes but that is why we are to put them first, so we have their best interest at heart. If you love this life you will lose it. If you hate it you will keep it. Our purpose is to be a living sacrifice daily.

Faith is more than a word, it's a power. When you belong to God, working in love and your conscience is clear you can be used as an instrument. God's power can be made manifest to work through you. Just like a radio signal goes through the air undetected, it only reveals itself through a receiver or radio that transforms it to sound energy. We are those receivers that transform the Spirit of God into sensible energy. Our bodies are energy and react to God's Spirit and can pass it on. These are the Gifts of the Spirit. Sometimes it can be made manifest by our faith alone, but with healing, our bodies can be used as a catalyst, and the faith of the one to be healed is required. The new age movement turned the word metaphysical into a taboo word but there is "energy" that God uses.

God bless you all and if I never meet you in this life, hopefully I will in the life to come.

You'll not regret your decision if you fulfill it. I've said to many there are too many hours spent on here mouthing and not actually studying and taking care of families and church members. God bless.

Good idea.

Probably we would all benefit much more from Bible Study groups, Prayer Groups, and Church membership. Assuming of course that it was a good Church!

The Forum just has too much diversity of opinion, and it is not the right place to settle disputes. So there is endless fracturing, and very little rapprochement.

On the plus side, there are some people who are hungry for the Word, and understanding.

But I'll be blunt, I see very very few people on the forum genuinely able to learn. They may want to learn, but the forum creates too much dissonance and confusion, so people end up mastering the art of defending their corner, which in turn precludes the mindset necessary to actually learning.

It is sad, yet I think is good decision. We have privilege to spread message online and then we could also spread it by connecting with those in our neighbourhood and we come in contact with.

There is time for everything.

Keep on sharing the undiluted everlasting gospel.

May the God of peace sanctify you through and through

Blessings

You seem to be assuming we all spend our entire day in front of the computer. I spend several hours at church on Monday doing maintenance work, as a volunteer. I spend a chunk of time at the church on Thursday at choir practice. I do spend 30-60 minutes here at Christian Chat each day, but that's just to relax and have some fun. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I really think people have a misunderstanding of the purpose of a discussion forum.I hear people often say "no one is here to learn". Well this isn't a learning forum, this is a discussion forum. I didn't come here to learn,Ive been in church all my life, been in ministry and have sat under the ministry of many wonderful and knowledgeable pastors. I know what I believe, and I didn't come here to learn. Now someone may change my opinion slightly but I know my doctrine and I know what I believe is solid. Some here believe tongues is from the devil, some believe in OSAS, some dont believe in the Trinity, some dont believe in the rapture. Im not fixin to change their minds and I pretty much leave people alone with what they believe. I like to discuss but theres a point when I know its of no use so I let them believe what they want and its doesn't change what I believe.I can come here and fellowship, just like I do in life,my friends dont all believe the way I believe. The only issue I have is when someone starts saying Im from the devil because I dont believe their way.

Secondly there are people here that think they have a ministry. They are only here to make everyone accept what they believe or they condemn you to hell. This isn't ministry, the is a discussion forum, thats all. People share opinions and some agree, some disagree. But if you feel a burden for ministry go do it. I did and that part of my life is over. But I dont come here trying to make people believe what I do. So I think people have a misunderstanding of what this site is for.And I wish people would realize this. All that being said I hate to see anyone leave. But your heart seems to be telling you that God has a work for you to do and I say blessings on you and your family. My you be richly rewarded as you follow what God has for you to do.

"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be at your back,
May the sun shine warmly on your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand."

God bless you!

The whole point of life is that it is a learning curve. Even Jesus had to learn.

Even mankind is on a learning curve, believe it or not.

If you think you are above learning, then you haven't even reached the first rung of the ladder, and probably need to start a Forum for those who "know it all".

I've seen 80 year old men shaking in Church because of revelations. How can anyone, I mean anyone, be so foolish as to think they know it all?

Wow!! So it looks like no one read what I had to say. Lets try this again and perhaps someone will actually hear what Im saying. I do not come to a discussion forum to learn. This is a DISCUSSION forum. I have my pastor I learn from,my father is an evangelist,I have pastors in my family and guess what I even have "gasp" the Bible to learn from. I come here to discuss views. I DID NOT say I had arrived.I DID NOT say I having nothing left to learn. So please dont put words in my mouth. Your post was totally false and was not what I stated. smh

Please read what I just posted. My point is this is a discussion forum. Its not a ministry forum, not a learning forum, not a counseling forum.Do all those things happen here? Possibly. But this is a Discussion Forum and that is mainly what people do here.

I always saw this as a learning forum. And I've learned a lot here. What's the point of endless discussion if nothing is to be gained from it? Doesn't the Bible warn against that? People butt heads here solely because they are here to discuss and not learn.

I come to learn. The learning doesn't always have to be about Jesus, but I do come to learn. I've learned about what life is like to be part of a family in a traveling ministry from you. I've learned what it is to be bold in declaring who we are from Blue. I've learned a lot of Greek and early history from Angela. (Can't say I remember the Greek, but I often remember the English word better.) Learned how to speak only at God's prompting from PennEd. (Still learning. Still learning. lol) I've learned about a lot of nondenominational teaching from Willie. Miri teaches me patience and perseverance. (Probably doesn't feel like she teaches either, but she does.) Blain and Steph teach me what it's like to be a young person and Christian in the 21st century. Post tries to teach me higher thinking and math. (Tries. lol) Levi teaches me determination in prayer. Grace777 teaches me what it is to have the heart, even if our minds disagree like cats and mice. (Sometimes cats and dogs get along, rarely cats and mice. lol) Some have taught me to ignore. Mar teaches me gardening in an exotic location. OleThanNew teach me to see God in all things.

I really do learn quite a bit on this site. It is about being a Christian, but not necessarily about the Bible or God.

Kind of what happens when you are out to learn instead of out to preach your particular views.

And now that I see everyone blasting you for daring not to learn, just want to clarify. I didn't say or mean to imply you have to be like me. You don't, and I'm glad you aren't. (And you're probably glad you aren't. lol) Just explaining what I mean when I say I'm here to learn. :)

[h=2]This will be my last post (for long while), thank you all![/h]I'm glad u put that part in parenthesis... i used to stay longer here too, but as the Lord led, ive been staying for shorter periods for i have to redeem the time. It just means u hope to come back, and come when u are led to and bless others here or there, wherever u are. Thank u also, and all the others who share a bit of their life, and the Gospel here.

PRO. 16:21.
The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

many good and wise words shared here in this thread...when someone leaves, for what ever reason or time,
they will eventually realize just what they have truly learned here, and that can be a bunch of things...

I know hubby and I have learned so much in our visits to CC, and have been given the privilege
of meeting/loving, so many here, we praise Jesus for this precious blessing...

Hungry,
may you always continue to walk with your Lord and Master every day of your life,
in Trust and Assurance coupled with all grace and humility...

Love in Christ,

Oh I learned in that manner also. I guess Im specifically talking about doctrine. What I mean is I find people come here pushing a doctrine or a special revelation and get upset if we do not "learn from them". Like sis Magenta talking about Mormon belief, whether the OP believes this or not I dont know. What Im saying this is not a teaching site in that manner. Ive certainly learned from others. But I would dare say if someone was coming here to learn doctrine or the fundamentals of the faith they'd be terribly confused. We had someone here arguing Jesus wasn't sinless. So Im specifically speaking of those coming from on high, like the rapture thread, telling everyone their going to hell because they refuse to "learn" from the OP.I hope its clearer what Im talking about.

Kayla,

your sweet message was understood by many here as it was posted...sometimes it just
takes time to understand, but knowledge has a way of sneaking-up on us at the
oddest of times:eek:...hub and I always admire honest witnessing, it is rare,
but always brings such joy...:)

Where is the dividing line between making a point and 'blasting' someone?

Guess I need to learn that ;)
