How do you get "another porn addiction?" Seems to me either your addicted to porn or not. I see no "another" choice.

And secondly, since you know you're autistic, hasn't someone taught you how to live with it? Mostly it's just connecting with neurotypicals in such a way that there is communications, so I'm not quite sure how autism means more or less with an addiction. If you had OCD, I can see that would be a problem of a different kind but autism is just seeing the world differently from nuerotypicals.

How to stop an addiction:
1. Pray when the urge hits and rely on God's promise to help.
2. Distract yourself until the urge lessens.
3. Repeat.

If you can find someone else with the same addiction, it's good to have a support group.

Well i cannot relate on having autism but if you know taking your medication helps you to follow God, then not taking it or ignoring it is a choice you make knowing when it acts up you make bad choices.

Its like i know drinking helps me make bad choices so i choose not to drink.

Do what you can in your normal mental state and what ever happens in your mental disorderly state is out of your control.

But like i said if you know what helps control your mind then you must make the right choice to control it.

If you deal with this addiction normally then you may be needing to deal with addiction than autism

One needs to refrain from having sinful thoughts.

No kidding. So then what? Or... HOW?
I'm no expert on this, but it is a big issue, worth discussing, and so I added my two-cents worth. Yes, we need to discipline ourselves. But certainly it is more complicated than that.

It helps if everything else is running right in our lives. Are we committing any other sins that are making life unpleasant?

Easier said than done, Res..
As I said in a previous post, I am no expert on this. Still, my latest analysis of the situation tells me one needs to get at the root of the problem. If we can just keep our minds off of sinful thoughts, perhaps everything else would just fall in place.

And as I also said in a previous post, it certainly is helpful to have our lives straightened out in other areas so that we aren't experiencing unpleasantness. I think it's fair to say that when we aren't happy, it is more difficult to resist the temptation to sin.

And the best way to do this is to make every effort to resist the temptation to commit other sins.
