What do you do with someone who claims to be saved when it's painfully obvious they're not? Do you go through the true gospel with them or let them live in their little delusion?

Is there a particular reason you dont think they are saved? The best thing you can do is point them to the Bible.

Well if they don't have the Holy Spirit they're not saved.

Are you a mind reader? Or a psychic? NO. :) Don't judge people on their religion, by their actions..

Matthew 7:16-17

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

There's a good little reference to keep in mind. I know what you mean though. Someone who is openly in sin and has no remorse, or doesn't even accept that what they are good is against the Bible. Whatever you do, do lovingly though.

If they have it duh lol.
So when you meet a stranger you know before talking to them whether or not they are saved?
Doesn't sound credible to me

She asked how do YOU know whether they have the HS or not?
If the spirit in them agrees with the spirit in me about Jesus. I thought it was obvious?

Try simply letting Jesus live through you, and let them watch.

Ummm, NOOOO. Ever hear the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover"? That's what you're doing, assuming they may not have the HS just because their actions don't quite jive with their Christian status...

If they are false believers, you let them. I know you're supposed to help them and bring them to the right path but.

In the world we live in today, people complain about everything. Everything is wrong, everything is immoral, people have become too sensitive and think they are never wrong. People aren't willing to admit their mistakes in the world we live in right now. So if you try to bring someone to the right way, you'll just end up arguing with them in conflict. So just let them be as they are. let them follow the wrong path, just don't do it yourself, and keep to the right one yourself. Their lives, their choice.

Judging a book by its cover is judging someone based on looks.

Your telling me you can't tell if someone is saved?

Judging a book by it's cover is NOT judging someone based on looks. Christians sin. That's a fact. So how is judging someone by their looks any different from judging them by how they act? You could sin every day, and still be saved. You might not be reflecting Jesus, but you'd still be saved, even if an observer thought otherwise.. That's what you are, an observer. Judging those people by their actions. Just because they smoke and swear, for example, you're assuming they can't possibly have the HS because of those sins.. I'll say it once again: CHRISTIANS SIN.

Find out what the person believes. What does the person say about Jesus? People who are saved love Jesus, He is our Savior. A person who is unsaved does not love Him.

This kind of thought process bugs me. Letting them follow the wrong and allowing them to head straight to hell and to never know the love and light and beauty of god and to give up on people because of the continued conflict and arguing that follows sounds like a person who has given up on people and has lost the love of god.
Something that amazes me about God is that even in the most evil of hearts and in the most corrupt and blood stained of souls he still sees something in them worth going to the extreme of extremes for something stunningly beautiful and sacred worth going through absolute hell just save on such person.

Even if the chance that such a person as that could be lead to god is .00000001 percent I would burn in the fires of hell itself for a time just so that they could be washed in love and his light. Why are we Christian? why do we seek to be strong in faith? is it not because of love? In my opinion either we go all the way or we don't go at all either we give it our all or else we don't at all. His love is an all consuming fire that refuses to stand by and allow his children to just walk into the gates of hell

You are seeing through the wrong eyes and thus your understanding is in the wrong. Your answer about their spirit agreeing with your spirit about Jesus is not the correct answer because your spirit about Jesus may be in the wrong. It's easy to claim to have the holy spirit and think we know who is saved or not but only love can truly see and we can easily delude ourselves into thinking we can see into peoples hearts.

I'm not judging anyone based off actions. I can see the light of God on someone when they're saved. And no Christians don't sin. Were set free from sin. Only if you believe in the whole I can sin all I want cause im saved garbage. Christians don't sin. If they do its willful disobedience not sinning in ignorance like an unbeliever would. Its a dangerous thing to continue in sin after being saved. Its a disgrace actually.
