Anyone who believes these people are preaching truth "and encouragement" need some schooling in discernment and need to get into their Bibles and sound doctrine. Maybe not so much posting online, like, actually study sound doctrine? Once you get this (in time) you can relate to Hebrews 5:11-14 and discern how utterly evil and unbiblical THEIR teachings are.

The OP wasn't intended to be an exhaustive presentation of the Gospel. The intent was in the description, try to pay better attention and stay on topic. It also follows the pattern of 2 Timothy 3 and 4. If you want to present the Gospel, then go for it.

And the hilarious thing? I am giving a video that clearly rebukes a false teacher, and your post is attempting to rebuke me for, well, offering a rebuke of a false teacher. LOL!!!!!

My impression is that the writer of the OP wanted to show hatred towards Joel Osteen and get others to hate him as well, as though God gave him this personal ministry to destroy him.
But that can't be true, for the writer of the OP never mentions God, so he must not be part of this.

I find it so interesting that I am being blasted by a professing believer for exposing false teachers, which Scripture is so replete with examples for doing so.

But the interesting thing is I am being attacked and slandered by some on a personal witch hunt on me because they say it is wrong to be on a witch hunt. Some people don't know Scripture.

To top all that off are the lies of Ariel in addition to this, then slamming my ministry as well in pure hypocritical fashion.

Maybe Paul was wrong in telling preachers to "reprove, rebuke, exhort" in 2 Timothy 3 & 4? Or, maybe, just maybe Paul was really showing us through all this what it looks like when people "will not endure sound doctrine" and accumulate false teachers unto themselves. No, Paul was not wrong, and the fact that people will not endure sound doctrine is seen within this thread. It is really, really saddening.

How we are to view all the people that are supposedly heretics to someone or to some group? I have posted this before and most likely will have to in the future too when these type of topics come up.

Typically this brings out the malice and bitterness in others that love to slander others and want to do so with impunity because they don't agree with a certain subject like another believer does. They cry that they are holding up for the "truth" - Their truth as they see it is what is really meant and if you don't agree - you too are a heretic and they will bite and devour you too.

For example to those that believe in speaking in tongues and actually do pray in tongues on a daily basis to their Father - they have been called heretics by whole denominations because they don't agree with this doctrine.

There are websites dedicated to the heretic Billy Graham, Billy Sunday, Charles Spurgeon, Charles Stanley, D.L. Moody, C.S. Lewis, John McArthur, Joel Osteen, Paul Washer, Joseph Prince, Dr. Michael Brown, Justin Peters, Bill Johnson, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Andrew Wommack...etc..basically anyone who is known has a website dedicated to their "heresies".

There are even websites dedicated to the heretic apostle Paul because his epistles "conflict" with some of Jesus' words in some people's minds.

Basically these self-proclaimed heretic hunters have a beef about some thing with what someone else believes and so they are now "heretics" such as healing or speaking in tongues or water baptism done in what name, or how they would answer a question on salvation...etc.

Because they disagree with them - they feel that now they are free to slander them - call them names and create malice towards them.

Their motto is: "If people don't believe some scriptures in the way that "they do or our group" - they are heretics and they try to prove it with "their" version of what the scriptures say.

" This is not what we were taught in "my" church or in our whole church tradition.

It's the nature of the beast. Martin Luther was a heretic to the catholic church at the time because for 1300 years prior to Luther they had always "believed" the same way.

Where these types cross the line is when they turn a disagreement that they have with someone doctrinally on a secondary issue such as healing, or how they would answer questions ...etc and turn it into "So and so is a false teacher and they are in error and a heretic/satanist/controlled by a demon" type stuff.

They then feel "it is their duty to castigate them publicly." - but in reality it could be a cloak for them to practice their malice and bitterness towards others. The flesh is a deceitful little thing.

i have heard Mr. Osteen preach, not dozens but several (honestly can't recall the number and eventually my husband turned off the tv in disgust).

and not meaning to attack Osteen's person, but his teaching.
he does not teach the whole Gospel because he feels people are already weighed down and need to be lifted up (my paraphrase). there is some truth in that for some people, but!

if we consider, as i do, the book of Romans to be God's treatise on the whole Gospel, let's take a quick look.

Romans 1-3 contains the message that God is Holy and people are sinners. our dilemma. our indictment.

Romans (well, the end of chapter 3 and) 4-11 explain how God saves those who believe in Christ.

Romans 12-16 tell the believers how they are now to live in light of so great a salvation.

that's the whole Gospel, right? before the Good News, it's bad news, and we must get the bad news about ourselves.
prosperity "gospel" aside, Joel talks to his congregation as though everyone attending is in Christ, and there's danger there. perhaps he does, but i've never heard him speak about our duties as bondservants of the Lord, either. and that's part of the Gospel, isn't it? (honest question, isn't it??)
because God in Christ has done 'this' (Rom 4-11) (indicative) we are now empowered to obey Him (Rom 12-16) (imperative).

idk.... i hope you know i love you. i fear for those who flock to Osteen's type of teaching because it is, if not totally false, certainly incomplete when it comes to salvation. each time i've heard him, all i can think about is:

Let your manner of life be without covetousness, being satisfied with the present; for He Himself has said: "Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." (Heb 13:5 Berean Literal Bible)

I really like this post.

Too often people don't teach the WHOLE gospel and that causes a lot of issues. Especially if they reject half of the gospel because they don't like the message or lack faith.

Two sides to the coin of half the gospel:

Joel Osteen with his easy believism, witchcraft soaked prosperity gospel

And

Latter day Saints gospel of working to get ridership of your own world.

Both filled with false promises and lies.

However I ask again what does God tell us to do when we spot someone preaching a false gospel?

We have two extremes:

1. Ignore them
2. Burn them as a witch or verbally crucify them

God tells us to instead pray for our enemies. Yet how many people proclaim the need for prayer?

Yes Mark them. Yes warn others that they teach false doctrines. Yes preach the true gospel.

Just don't forget to pray for those deceived to be saved as well.

The prosperity gospel hurts people. So he has hurt more than just a few flies.

However who do you refer to in your post?

What would you have people on this forum do?

I agree...speak the truth as we believe it to be in Christ and His light will dispel the darkness away. Leave the rest in the Lord's hands.

Leave the personal discipline and reproof for those in spiritual authority in the given assemblies as outlined by Paul. Let those who actually have this qualification do the correcting - "You who are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness". Gal. 6:1

These personal attacks against those that view things differently can easily escalate into becoming a Westboro Baptist mindset. People are not rejecting God - they are rejecting the "god" that we are projecting to them by our behavior.

It's time for all of us to grow up as none of us know things as we ought to know them.

To keep the slander and malice down to a minimum. I do not believe in the so-called prosperity gospel as some preach it nor do I agree with everything any preacher or denomination preaches.

Its not a personal attack on Joel and Victoria Osteen's character. It is exposing the heresies they teach. We are attacking the message, not the messenger.

We, as believers, need to use discernment, when we hear someone's message. Victoria stated we don't go to church to worship God. Then why go? To play bingo? To give to their ministry? To give ourselves a pat on the back? No. We go to church to worship Him.

Then Joel melted like a snowball by not standing up for Jesus. These are huge Clifford the Big Red Flags.

I have said 2x times in this thread and in many others in times past that I don't believe in the so-called prosperity gospel the way I have seen some people preach it. I also don't believe in tithing either. I believe that in Christ we are already blessed with everything that we need. That He alone is our provider. That we are to give from our hearts governed by the love of God in us which is a fruit of the Spirit within us.

Most Christians couldn't handle true prosperity from the Lord. We are way too immature still for that to happen.

BUT - I am not going to put up videos castigating those people publicly that do believe and teach tithing and in malice call them heretics and a "cult" and full of witchcraft trying to manipulate others and "exposing" to all the world just how wrong they are and that they are just covetous and want your money for their "vision".
